Coda has a very understanding air about him without seeming over sympathetic. He's neutral by nature, so he's not one to judge based on anyone's past actions. Coda is what you would call a selective mute, and considering how easily he clams up there's probably an underlying cause... Nevertheless, he adores brightening someone's day with his tunes. He's perfected a method of expressing his emotions with his music instruments, like using soothing notes for contentment or a shrill pitch for distress. He prefers his piccolo (a gift from a close friend), but harmonicas are nice too. But, sometimes they seem a bit too vibrate-y, you know?

It's prehensile! Like a monkey's or a possum's. Or even a seahorse, resisting valiantly against the sea current. Coda is a little bit like a seahorse in that regard. Lots of determination for such a quiet guy. His tail acts as another limb, but what it does best is hold his instruments. It can even hold his own body weight, but he can quickly tire himself out that way.
