Genotype: EE Aa Sb1/n Lplp Patn2Patn2

Breeding Notes:
- Roll for pangare

I just wanted to make a simple pangare adopt.. to win his stallion, write about a time when something in his life just went completely different from what he expected. It doesn't have to be sad, could be something turning out better than he'd expected. No word or character limits, ends August 13th

Gender: stallion
Eye Color: Old Mint
Coat Color: Bay Pangare Extened Blanket Sabino
Unexpected Scenario:

the appaloosa's eyes opened. it was dark. he could hear voices... human voices.
"He's a good weight, could probably fetch some dough".
"Bet nobody else gonna bid on him. Looks sour".
the stallion snorted, he knew who these people were. buyers who wanted him for meat, for money. typical humans. he clenched his teeth, pinned his ears, and charged at the men.
"Told ya," the man said. this trick usually scared people away, so the horse was surprised. he watched them warily. the auction would start soon.

forty five minutes later

the stallion was led out of his stall, eyes flashing, ears flicking. holding his head up high, he practically galloped out into the ring. some of the people let out a small gasp. the appaloosa bucked and reared, charged around, snapping at the front row. that'll show them, he though. nobody would want him now; he would be too hard to get into the trailer. but what was that? the two humans he'd heard earlier were bidding! the auctioneer chanted his song, but no one else wanted him.

"Going... going... gone".

no, the horse thought. impossible. I can't be sold to them, they're killers, what have I done...
he was led to the buyers, head down. one took the lead rope gingerly.
"Well, let's get going, then. We've a long trip ahead". the appaloosa was dead. most definitely. and there was nothing he could do about it.
"That's a mighty pretty horse to be going to the dog food factory." a woman was casually walking up to the men.
"Oh no, ma'am, you're mistaken. He's not gonna go to no factory."
"Please. I've seen you before. I'll offer twice what you paid."
the killers looked surprised. money was their life, however, and they took her offer.

the lady took the stallion's lead rope and looked him in the eye.
"You're never coming back here again." she said, and snuck him a carrot.

(edit: just fixed some things)

Unexpected Scenario:

Horizon lives in an area rather low and nearly at sea level. Despite the tranquil appearance the area is very prone to flash floods and other forms of flooding and heavy storms. A lot of the time, buildings are raised a good height off the ground or built on higher parts in order to reduce the amount of damaged caused. Horizon's stable is roughly seven inches of the ground, with a small ramp to allow horses and other animals in and out. The surrounding grassland is flat and floods regularly, meaning the stallion is often bound to his stable during the winter months. The stallion is restless a lot of the time, especially when he knows a storm is brewing. It was nearly spring and the storms were at their most ruthless. As the clouds gathered, Horizon snorted and shuffled about in his stall as his mind was overcome with the feeling of uneasiness. The storm took several hours to arrive and grow in strength and it's only sign of beginning was a slight drizzle and the odd clap of thunder in the distance.

Horizon stood patiently, his ears swivelling cautiously as the pressure dropped noticeably, drawing the storm ever closer to his barn. The front doors open quickly, releasing a loud bang as they hit the sides. All the horses that had been out were now being brought into the dry, warm confines of the barn. "This can't be good..." Horizon thought, flicking his tail. Eyes wide as he watched the others be shuffled and pushed around before entering their stalls quickly. It wasn't until these moments that the bay stallion noticed that there were so many horses on the property. Several mares and their foals, stallions and geldings alike. All suffering with the same sense of unease.

Upon the roof, the first drops of rain rattled on the wood. Growing only heavier with time. "Do you think it'll only be a small one?" A small voice beside him asked. Turning his head, the stallion had a grim expression before shaking it gently. "I don't know... doesn't seem like it..." Breathing a heavy sigh, Horizon knew the only choice was to wait it out. Twisting around he began to munch on the hay that had been provided in the nets. "I guess we just have to wait and see." He added after a few moments of thought. Hearing a gentle huff from the gelding next door, Horizon snorted in return. Hopefully there won't be too much damage.

For what seemed like hours, the rain battered the wooden roof and the wind threatened to push the barn down. However, there was an equal sigh of relief as the rain began to dwindle and stop almost completely. A few minutes passed before the barn doors were opened and everyone was checked out by the various stable hands. "Phew... everyone's okay..." He heard the gelding mutter incoherently. Rolling his eyes, Horizon snorted as his stable door was opened and small lead rope was attached. "Does this mean everything's okay?" He thought, suspicion still clinging to his thoughts. Walking up and out of the door, his ears lifted and all clouded thoughts melted away. The ground was just a bit soggy but everything seemed otherwise okay. Looking up at the sky, the clouds were diminishing and the the sun was making an appearance. Brightening the area and giving a warm, comfortable feeling to those that bathed in its glory. A little over to the right, a rainbow formed in the remaining misty rain. It seemed everything was in order and the storm wasn't as powerful as it had given off.

Pulling on his lead rope, horizon dashed to his pasture. Hearing it unclip, he ran and jumped and kicked. His sleep locked legs released from its grasp as he enjoyed the freedom. Tossing his head, he whinnied loudly as some other horses joined him in his celebrations. They'd survived another beating from winter.
