Name: Arthur
Gender: colt
How would you gain it's trust:At first I would visit him daily and talk softly to him. When he gets comfortable enough to walk up to the stall door and greeted me , I will start to pet him softly on his muzzle then progress slowly to his neck, shoulder, torso, hindquarters and legs. Once Arthur is comfortable with petting , I will start to slowly halter train him. After he is halter trained , I will start to get him use to the stables by taking him on walks progressing slowly in length. Once Arthur is use to being walked ,I Will introduce him to the other horses out in the pasture , going in order from least to most dominant. One he is comfortable with all of the horses, I will leave him out in the pasture for progressing lengths of time until Arthur can be left out in the pasture for a day with no problems. Once he is comfortable with the pasture, I will start taking him out on walks to the surrounding trails and nearby farms to get him use to other animal species. Once Arthur completely trusts me I will start to train him at a slow and steady pace.
Personality:Arthur is a shy and quiet colt that needs a helping hand getting use to other animals and people. Once he is use to another animal or person, Arthur is very playful and rambunctious with them. He some times gets a little too carried away with the older horses and needs to be reminded to not over step herd boundaries. Arthur is also a very curious foal and will very cautiously explore new things. If he gets scared of something a little too strange, Arthur will runaway to his special spot in the forest and calm down. Once he is calmed down he will play with his rabbit friends, then come home. Arthur is also a very intelligent colt that will try to watch the older horses practice jumping and cross country courses. He will often copy there movements out in the forest and pasture using sticks, rocks, fallen branches and other puddles as "practice jumps". When Arthur grows up he wants to be a successful cross country horse like his adopted dam Chili.
