Very Rare • Tidal Class
Bewilderbeast are the kings of the dragons. They protect and provide for the
other dragons. As well as being the largest, they also use their icy blasts as
an attack. They also use their icy abilities to build nests as a shelter for both
them and other dragons. Bewilderbeast are not exactly trained/tamed, but more
befriended.

This is our second of many future custom contests. Now, unlike the others which will usually be raffles, this one will require some actual effort on your part due to the dragons rarity.

You will of course need to design your dragon. No artwork is allowed to be drawn of the dragon, it must be described entirely through writing! It must be written out as descriptively as possible, so that I can really get a feel for the character and see exactly what you mean without question. Artwork can be shown to me after judging, in order to better understand the dragons design, but thats only if you win. Now along with what your dragon looks like you should include their personality and actions as well. For example, HTTYD shows how each species has its own set of characteristics and inspirations by describing their movements. Nadders are bird-like, Stormcutters are owl-like, and Night Furys cat-like. Just by describing how the character moves you can explain a majority of their personality right there. So be sure to include little tidbits like that as much as possible!

While the amount of detail you put into this is entirely up to you, remember that this is what I will be judging the most. Mistakes in spelling or grammar will greatly hinder your chances of winning as it makes the writing harder to follow. With these things in mind, understand that there are no word limits, and you have three whole weeks to complete everything. I will close for judging on June 10th, right before the summer event starts. Have fun guys, and good luck!

Dragons Name:
Mirror

Dragons Gender:
Female

Description:
Mirror is a bright silvery color, like pure moonlight on a cloudless night. Stripes of a deep midnight blue decorate the majority of her otherwise silver scales, only her legs remain absent of stripes. Mirrors eyes possess a incredibly pale shade of blue swirled through a blue darker than that of the stripes on her body. Along each of her legs are spots the same shade of blue as the stripes, they are large enough to be seen easily yet small enough to look pretty. Her horns are simple, ivory in color and a good healthy size for her breed.

Despite her large bulk, Mirror manages to be incredibly graceful when she moves, even more so when she moves through the water. On land she moves carefully to avoid causing accidents but in the sea? Mirror can let go of the worries she has on land and just simply swim. Enjoy the way the way the water feels on her scales and the freedom to simply float awhile. Why in the water, Mirror is practically poetry in motion. She is a true joy to watch.

Mirror was always a wandering dragon until one day she came upon a young woman with two dragons sat upon an island. The great silvery Bewilderbeast merely watched the trio from out at sea

Relationships

Astral
Astral was suspicious of Mirror for Months, even when the beautiful Bewliderbeast provided free food and made no effort to attack the trio

Slipstream

Mylene
The red head was fascinated by Mirror, afterall seeing a dragon that belongs to the species known as the king of all dragons isn't a feat that happens every day. The two watched each other for days on end before Mirror made the first move. Following the viking in order to introduce herself to the young woman, lowering her great head and blowing cool frosty breath at the red head.

Riders Name: Hazel Salsbrookes
An amazing rider who loves and cares for all her dragons like children

Dragons Name: Esmund
a loving and caring bewilderbeast who will do anything to protect his friend
Meaning: gracious protector

Dragons Gender: male
Well, why the heck not?

Description:
Es is a powerful bewilderbeast. His coloration is very majestic and solemn. People usually say is the sun god because of his coloration. His body coloration starts from his head as a very medium shaded red, then fades to orange, then yellow, and lastly a violet color. At the bottom of his feet he has a dark purple brindle spiraling up to the base of the leg. The tip of his spikes are this dark purple too. His horns start at the tip from dark midnight purple, then fade into light purples. Along his back are some small dots with the same dark purple for the brindle. His frills are the same design as the horns but with tiny yellow and orange dots. His claws are the same dark purple. His eyes heat the night sky with the blazing mixture of yellow and orange. His underbelly is a light creamy yellow.

Personality:
Es is a powerful and strong dragon so there is no funny business here with him. Even though he might seem bright and jolly because of his colors. When you see Esmund you probably think "Oh! what a nice color bewilderbeast! Maybe he'll be as nice as he looks!" Well, nope! Es is a protector! He will do anything to protect his dragons and friends! He doesn't really get fed up with anything except for grown dragons being annoying. He doesn't mind the babies because well, there babies! He will fight to the death for his friends and family even if it means dying. He knows somewhere, another alpha will be born and be king of the land! He tries to stay calm and not rage otherwise, well, he could destroy everything! He is a giant after all and you don't want to make giants mad or they will, you know, destroy the world! Es calms himself by praising the sun and sun gods. He loves the sun. But he is a ice spitter and will use his powers to cool him off during the hot summer heat. The sun calms him and helps him fall asleep. Es, when feeling happy, will play with you. Even though he is a giant there are games he likes to play. Like fetch. Now, your probably thinking, "how can a giant dragon play fetch?!" Well, he is the thrower of the toy, not the chaser. He likes to throw ice chunks to the other dragons! He also loves to play pass! Like, passing a ball. But not a ball. They use like snow and stuff. Es will blow the sun chunk into the air and the other dragons have to try and catch it in their mouth! So like jackpot if you know the game. So over all Es is a loving and caring beast who will do anything to protect his friends and family!

With Rose

With Blaze

With Tulip

With Jada

With Aurora

Territory:
Es doesn't live in the ocean. He prefers to stay on land. His territory is a large sandy island. It is about 5 miles each way. It only has a little bit of grass. It has 23 palm trees all around, and each palm tree has 3 coconuts. The place is surrounded in ice to keep cool in the summer. Es fishes for the other dragons by the huge hole in the middle if the island. The hole is dug in the middle of the island and it goes down and out. So Es can fish. When he fishes he shoots the fish back over the ice wall. A little east of the island there is a hot spring! It has 4 hot jets and small sea stacks around it so the dragons can sit. When its winter and the ocean freezes, Es well, still goes through the hole, and bursts through the thin layer of ice on the ocean. West of the island there is Dragon Island. Its not a threat now since the red death died but there is a green death, but she just stays in the cave. Es never bothers to go over there. But if the green death gets too close, Es will fight her. Every month Es always repairs the wall. Around the north side of the island, there are these rocks that get very hot during sunny days, so dragons like to go and lay on them! Es really loves his island and will do anything to protect it.

Completely Nomos

Username: ilhdc7
Riders Name: Cascade
Riders Description:
Dragons Name: Nomos 'the greek spirit of law'
Dragons Gender: Male
Description:
    Main Color: Navy Blue
    Complementing Color: Silver
As if pulled out of the sky when the sun had just dissipated behind the horizon, Nomos is colored. His navy scaled body is as dark, and menacing is as he could seem. His wings, and webbed areas, although still a dark blue, collected a light tremble, a small scatter of silver twinkles. Like stars, they shimmer in the night, and like stars, they aren't very noticeable, but yet seem to call you to look at them. Each of Nomos's beautiful, and majestic spikes are dusted with this silvery complexion. Each is covered with the smallest dust of silver, almost like pixies danced around and gifted a small pinch of their magic to him. His face, as humble, yet commanding as it is, is still dark, still foreboding, and still covered with a light swath of silver.
(basically navy blue with silver stars and silver highlighting...hope you got that in the writing><)
Personality:
Strong, Commanding, Courageous, Demanding, Leader, Protective, Gentle, Humble,
With his huge, and demanding size comes a huge and demanding personality. Nomos, with his strong size is head-strong. He doesn't like to lose, and likes to have everything going his way. He prefers for everything to just be his idea, or that he decided to do things that way. Nomos also runs a tight ship. Nothing is out of order, nothing is out of place, and everything is done at his command. If something goes a-wire, he will take responsibility, but otherwise, everything is done at his command. Although his orders are final, he usually lets everything do what they want. Orders that are just straight orders are rare from him, and are likely because you could injure yourself doing whatever you were doing. Nomos would put himself in front of a bullet for one of the dragons in his harem. He loves his family, and as large as it could get, if you are living in his home, he will protect you. Nomos would fight each of his family member's fights if he could, or take your pain for you. He would rather you live happy while him suffer than the reverse option. Although Nomos, loves his family, he demands things to be there at the moment. If he says he wants a fish, he would go get one. If he says to stop roaring, or making a noise, you should stop right away. He wants immediate responses, and to be followed exactly as he says. He is extremely protective of his harem. If you are a part of the cave, then he will guard you. Nothing could be taken from him. He is possessive of what is his, and doesn't like to share. But Nomos also has a sweet side. He is extremely gentle around the elderly, injured, or hatchlings. He has a soft spot for those dragons, and is even more protective around them. Because Nomos has such a large territory, and lots of possessions, this would normally cause any dragon to be very vain. But this isn't the case. Nomos is humble with his belongings, and would share any with anybody. That is why he's so open to having dragons come and go. He likes to share, and loves to see others happy.
Relationship with Cascade:
Respectful, Trusting, Motherly, Squablish, Teasing, Playful
With Cascade, his human, he is almost childlike in his ways.
Relationship with Alheaam:
    Amused, Kind, Caring, Hovering
Relationship with Gelos:
    Playful, Annoyed, Frustrated, Irritating, Tolerates
Territory:
If you traveled back from the ocean shore a few miles, and went over a mountain or two, you would find a small, yet deep valley. The sides curve upwards at almost a 90 degree angle. The tree's hang on with barely an inch to grow, yet do so with their roots partly showing. The sides to the valley are green because the plants have learned to grow in these harsh conditions. At one part of the valley, a powerful waterfall flows down from out of the ground. The water is fresh, and cold, and tumbles down into a small lake. The lake stays still for a while, then continues into a stream, that then flows out of the valley, back to the ocean. The valley has a couple of trees at the bottom, each one as large as the next. The valley is shaded though. Shaded by the roof that covers 85 percent of the area. This is where Nomos has marked his home. He has done so by the powerful ice he breaths, and has claimed this spot as home. This would be the nesting ground for any dragons that wish to live in his small harem, he would take in any wanderers, travelers, or dragons looking for a home to stay. This is where he allows his rider, Cascade to live, and build her small hut, that stands on a small rocky outcropping towards the top of the valley with a tiny footpath. This area, almost 50 square miles wide, is where Nomos has taken residence.

(oh god I'm gonna lose look at all these amazing entries. XD still gonna have my pathetic attempt because I can't not try.)

Riders Name: Mahgah
Mahgah is a pale viking with silver hair, prone to keeping to the shadows. His main pass-time is fishing in a secluded area overshadowed by a rocky overhang. Typically he doesn't catch much but it is relaxing anyway.
Dragons Name: Abyss
Dragons Gender: Male
Description: Abyss is a young bewilderbeast as evidenced by his smaller size (1/3 the size of movie 'beasts) and smooth, nearly unblemished as-of-yet spines and tusks. Much like his namesake, he is mostly dark blue - nearly black in parts closer to his belly, with splashes of azure and teal across his fins and wings, like coral splaying from his core and legs. His spines seem to nearly glow with bright cyan tips, the colour seeming to draw fish and deep sea dragons to him to either eat or befriend respectively. His preference to feed his deep-sea friends (a few orphaned seashockers who lost their pods and hadn't learned hunting) leads to him frequenting thermal vents which have given his tusks the only blemish, staining them pitch black. His pack is small due to his youth, currently only consisting of the orphaned seashockers as well as a few aerial orphaned dragons that are fed when he brings his mismatched pod to the surface.
His eyes are a deep blue, lacking any lid markings that could detract any needed light in the darkest depths.

A migration of scauldrons forced him to bring his seashockers to a protected cove - near to Mahgah's fishing spot.

(Well I should take the wip tag off, that's all I got. XD )

Italian form of the Late Latin name Vitalis,
which was derived from Latin vitalis "of life, vital".
Vitalis was the name of several early saints and
martyrs.

Vitale sits at the base of his kingdom, merciless, grey waves pound at his rough scales. Their colour almost matching, although they
appear slightly darker than the ocean's surface. Giving a low grumble, a storm is brewing and Vitale knows it. Long, off-white tusks
protrude from the sides of his jowls. Their look unkempt and dirty from many years of caring for this group of dragons. In places the
salt has stained the tusks and formed white rings, the salt from the ocean finding its way into the ivory's core. Vitale grumbled
contently, the ferocity of the waves was beginning to pick up, the white crests massaging his dark, grey, blue scales, the colour
more noticeably grey than blue. Along his face and shoulders, scars lingered from battles and confrontations with members of his
species and hunters a like. The most noticeable ones being found upon his face and tusks. His face has a multitude of battle wounds,
although, many have faded and appear to be a selection of paler scales. His tucks grooved and chipped from destroying ships and
battling his own species. The colour of the grooves paler than the surrounding area.
Turning to face the open ocean, the paler blue-grey highlights the centre of Vitales face, extend outwards to the top of his
forehead and the top of his tusks, all the way to about half way down his chin. The spines that make up most of his impressive
appearance lift gently as the wind picked up. The coloured tips of his spines drawing attention from the small dragon hovering above
his massive frame. Like most of his kind, Vitale has a deep red blending from his base colour to the top of his spines. This dominant
male would have used them to fend of possible threats and competitors. The spines only fully extending to the sides during times of
high aggravation where a guttural roar of challenge is needed.
Shifting his weight, Vitale lifted his mighty tail above the surface. Salty water streaming from the grooves along the stretchy skin.
Bright and beautiful colours between the hard structural bones, immediately attracted some of the terrible terrors under his care.
As they emerged from the cove that they all called home, their tiny calls and screeches merely an indication of their presence to
Vitale. Compared to the rest of Vitales body, the colours served more for decoration rather than camouflage. A sea green at the base
merged about half way towards the tips of the fins with a bright coral blue. Along some of his fins, holes and tears became apparent
as his fins stretched and bent to fit into a more comfortable position in front of the cove he had his made home. Although, some of
the dragons made themselves comfortable on the top and on the sheer sides of the cliff, many chose to pick the shelter of the cove.
Not only was it protected from the elements, but Vitale protects the cave from strong waves that may flood the area and force the
dragons out. Placing all four feet firmly on the sea floor, Vitale lifted his torso from the water, allowing himself to turn around. The
same blue-grey making up his underbelly, under-tail and chest.
Having sat himself in a more comfortable position, Vitale allowed the waves to consume most of his body eagerly. The storm growing
with strength as he did so. Cold waters would cause some to shiver, but this Bewilderbeast was no stranger to the cold. Giving a
contented grumble, Vitale relaxed his head and rested it upon a jagged rock, his tusks partially submerged under water as the waves
continued to rise and wash over them.

    Kiduttaa the Terrible Terror
    Image
Kiduttaa is more or less a little terror-way, climbing all over of Vitales body and sitting upon
his tusks and giving him calls and screeches of play. Vitale is quite happy to amuse this small
dragon and is far more friendlier towards her than others under his care. The Bewilderbeast
is close to Kiduttaa, preferring her company over many of those around him. Despite their
obvious size difference, Vitale is very gentle and cautious, especially when she is flying below
his feet, fins and tail. The last thing he wants is for her to get injured due to his ignorance.
However, there is only so much that Vitale can take, even if he doesn't mean to this mighty
dragons becomes easily frustrated with her. Vitale does not want to use his mind controlling
abilities on the terrible terror, for fear of losing the close companionship he has gained with
Kiduttaa. The close bond they share is unmatched and the pair would be classed as best friends
in the human world, although the phrase is little known to Vitale and Kiduttaa. The bond they
share was formed when the harem was first created, Kiduttaa being the first to accompany him.

    Nimbus the Hobblegrunt
    Image
Nimbus being a rather timid yet curious Hobblegrunt, means that Vitale doesn't really see
much of him. Despite this, Vitale knows that Nimbus isn't one for causing trouble or any
form of disruption. This allows them to get along during the brief moments that they
may communicate. Not only this, but Vitale spends most of his time at the base of the
cliffs; with the pounding waves ,where as, Nimbus remains at the top of the cliff and only
comes down into the sea cave during times of bad weather. Despite this, Vitales is tolerant
of him and has yet to lose his temper or snap at him for behaviour. On top of this, Nimbus
only really appears when Vitale returns from the deep sea and shares a large bounty of fish
with the harem. Overall, there really isn't much of a proper relationship between the two.
If anything it could be considered symbiotic, Nimbus uses Vitale as a means for protection,
food and shelter, and it seems Nimbus wouldn't have their relationship any other way.

    Saharah the Hobblegrunt
    Image
Saharah, much like Nimbus prefers to keep her distance from Vitale. Despite this, Vitale has
found that she is far more open and welcoming than her friend Nimbus. Still, the two dragons
would be considered distant. While Vitale is much larger in comparison, he believes that this
is why Saharah is a little reluctant in coming in close proximity with him. Saharah and Vitale
do share one thing in common and that is their love of the ocean. In time of good weather is
usually when the pair are seen getting along the most. The soft summer waves allows for
Saharah to come down to the small beach that is created when the tide recedes. The good
will of Vitale brings them closer as the large Bewilderbeast creates large waves for Saharah
to fly thorugh and swim in. Vitale is very calm around the Hobblegrunt and doesn't tend to
get overall frustrated or annoyed with her. However, Vitale can feel slightly awkward when
around her as little eye contact is made between the two and there are more often than not
no form of communication. Vitale has tried but the reserved nature of the Hobblegrunt has
meant that Vitale has all but given up and merely accepts her presence.

    Chontos the Boneknapper
    Image
Chontos is a challenging dragon to deal with and with this, Vitale finds himself disciplining him
on several occasions. The relationship these two dragons share is tedious. Especially when both
are in particularly bad moods, and it so happens to be a common occurrence. While, Chontos is
reckless and self centred, she is merely looking for amusement which Vitale delivers in the form
of anger and frustration. The two pester one another like there is no tomorrow and end up
getting on one another's nerves in the end. Chontos and Vitale differ so greatly but at the same
time they are more a like than they even realise. Despite the similarities they share, Chontos and
Vitale lack the patience or persistence with one another to even attempt to form a proper
meaningful relationship. Vitale is kind enough to allow Chontos to remain in the harem, however,
Vitale has been at his wits end more than he'd like with her. Both dragons have scars small and
large from the squabbles they have with each other, Chontos more effected than the Bewilderbeast.

    Lykho the Red Death
    Image
Vitale strongly dislikes Lykho, even hates him a times. They two share a violent relationship,
filled with snarls, growls, frustration and annoyance. Its not often that you'll see the pair getting
along and if they do its only for short bursts at a time. Both dragons suffer with violent tendencies
and outbursts making them completely unrelenting. The angry periods are often caused by one
another, although, Lykho could be in a good mood and immediately turn sour when Vitale snaps at
him or one of the others. However, the two find themselves getting along when Cardinal is around,
although she has tamed Lykho, she has befriended Vitale. Vitale savours the friendship as she acquires
more dragons through her travels for it only adds to the number in his harem. Lykho was given to
Cardinal and not tamed, making Lykho different. This may be the reason that Vitale finds himself
disliking the Red Death so much. A lot of measures have been taken to try and increase the amount
of friendliness within their relationship, however, the lack of interest from both sides has made
the process a lot more difficult than it has needed to be.

    Ledovec the Snow Wraith
    Image
Vitale is jealous of Ledovec for many reasons. The many reasons, however, is the fact that Ledovec
is far closer to Cardinal than he is. Even though he is close to Kiduttaa, Vitale still wants to keep the
bond that he shares with the person who befriended him alive. Although the bond is not needed, it
makes caring for the harem a much easier endeavour. Vitale and Ledovec often meet when Cardinal
is around, while Vitale remains at the base of the cliff and the surrounding ocean, Ledovec is often
seen clinging to the sides of the cliffs, near the top might I add, but all along the edges of the cliff
and around the settlement that his rider has created. Ignoring the jealousy, Vitale and Ledovec share
a fairly peaceful relationship. They wouldn't be called close friends but they are rather neutral to
one another. There is little aggression and next to no conflict between the two, unlike other dragons
Vitale has gotten to know. Although, their relationship isn't perfect, they have had their fair share of
squabbles but Ledovec's cool nature means that it is only upon rare occasions that Vitale loses his
    temper with the Snow Wraith.

Coni, Amar, Sham, Aloe the Snaptrapper
    Image
Vitale is more often than not confused by the Snaptrappers. The several heads, calls and
thoughts leave him slightly bewildered. However, the disagreement they have among
themselves is rather amusing for him to watch, even if it is from a slight distance.
Vitale has found himself becoming with three of the four heads, the only one who does
not seem to get along with is Aloe, his is found to the far left of the four heads. The
Bewilderbeast is still unsure as to why Aloe has taken a disliking to him, however, he
gets along just fine with the other three sisters. Despite the minor set back from Aloe,
Confier, Amarylis and Shamrock are rather friendly with Vitale. All of them enjoying
one anothers company, even if Aloe is there to rain on their parade.

Sigmundr, the Compassionate Giant

Username: ShimmerSolarPets
Riders Name: Codetta Shimmersun

Dragon's Name: Sigmundr (Origin: Old Norse. Meaning: Sigr = victory, Mundr = protector)
Dragon's Gender: Male

Image

Build

Sigmundr is a very fine specimen of the majestic dragon species he belongs to: the Bewilderbeasts. He is a very evident proof of why this rare species is referred to "kings of the dragons". Like all Bewilderbeasts, Sigmundr is humongous. He makes his friend, Codetta Shimmersun, seem like just a frail twig standing on the ground next to him. His stance is always proud and majestic; filled with poise and an aura of confidence. His presence radiates strength and his gaze commands respect. Like other Bewilderbeasts, his head is also adorned with a gigantic crown of spikes, which protrude from the back of his neck. His skin is tough and coral-like. Perhaps the most feared physical feature that Sigmundr has (aside from the sheer size of his whole body that could easily crush a person) are the two, huge horns protruding from both sides of his head.

Color

Looking at Sigmundr would remind one of the sea. Majestic, yet can be dangerous. Serene, but can be rough. His back and the top of his head is a beautiful shade of cerulean, which gradually fades into gray as it goes down. The base of the head spikes are light teal, but it gradually fades into light blue as it goes up. The base of the huge back spikes are cerulean (the same color as the back), but it also gradually fades into light blue as it goes up. All the spikes are tipped with dark red. There are rings around the eyes, which are viridian in color (they kind of look like the red rings around Valka's Bewilderbeast's eyes) . There are steel blue, jagged stripes on Sigmundr's tail.

Eyes

Sigmundr's eyes are surrounded with viridian rings. His eyes, although a bit tiny for his size (like other Bewilderbeasts), reflect his majesty and power despite their gentle color. They are powder blue. If one takes a look at his eyes for a long time, one might start to lose oneself in his gaze, and be transported into a world of imagination. One might think of this king rising above the waves, with seafoam and water tumbling down from his scales and sending up a splash from the ocean. With nothing but his breath, he built a sanctuary for himself and all dragons in need. One could almost feel the kindness and the power combined in that one scene. His eyes seem ageless, and one might start to wonder what kinds of things have he witnessed.

Wings & Frills

Sigmundr has humongous wings, as well as gigantic frills decorating his body. The rims of the wings and frills are cerulean, but the "webbing" itself is light blue, which fades to a beautiful shade of light gray as it goes up. If you look closely, you might see small tears in the edges of his wings. However, this is fine. His wings are too tiny in proportion to his entire body, like other Bewilderbeasts. So, they cannot make him take to the air. The holes and tears are so small, that they hardly hinder his swimming. However, compared to Bewilderbeasts with no tears on their wings and frills, Sigmundr might be slightly less agile. The difference is very slight, though, so you must have a very keen eye to notice it.

Tusks

Sigmundr's tusks are deadly weapons. Humongous, they can easily cut and crush things that get in their way. His left tusk is razor sharp, but his right tusk is chipped. Of course, Sigmundr usually takes care not to injure anyone nearby with his tusks, although there have been a few occasions in which his horns accidentally injure somebody. Fortunately, those cases are very rare, and even if they do happen, they're usually just minor injuries.

Sigmundr's tusks are very strong. His chipped right tusk is still just as deadly as his whole left one. They're ivory in color, and they turn downwards. The direction of the tusks make for a slight disadvantage in battle, as he has to rear up to use the sharp tip of his tusks on another Bewilderbeast. This won't be much of a problem if the other Bewilderbeast's tusks point downwards, but if his enemy's tusks point upwards, Sigmundr needs to be careful.

Other Notable Features

Sigmundr has two facial scars, remnants of once hard-fought battles, in which he came out victorious. He has one on his right cheek, similar to Codetta's (but this is by pure coincidence). The other one is right below his mouth, on the left side of his chin.

Image

There is no denying that Sigmundr looks majestic. With such a sheer size and strength, one would think that Sigmundr is definitely king material. In fact, one could say that he is a perfect example of why Bewilderbeasts are considered "kings of dragons". Well, yes... and no. Do not be fooled by his seemingly solemn appearance! Sigmundr is actually just a gentle giant; a big sweetheart. He is very caring and loving to those around him. Friends, strangers... He greets everyone with open arms- er... Wings? With such a humongous size, comes a wave of compassion that's just as big. Sigmundr looks out for the wellbeing of his subjects, and listens to any complaints they might have. Not enough food in the hive? He'll gather up fish and distribute them to all the dragons. Humans or dragons, big or small, young or old... Anyone who seeks his assistance will be granted a generous amount of help. Not even the tiniest of runts are ignored by this kindly Bewilderbeast.

Sigmundr is mostly easygoing. Unlike other Bewilderbeasts, Sigmundr is not much of a king. Rather, he gives sanctuary to the needy. Sigmundr is laid-back. He likes to laze around in his self-built paradise, unless his guests have some complaints or need his assistance. Sigmundr does not really care about having followers or not. He lets dragons come and go as they please, and use the facilities of his hive as they need. He does not mind dragons living in the hive, as long as they do not cause some major disruption that could harm other dragons. Being a gentle giant, he does not mind hatchlings playing around him and he does not mind having to support injured or elderly dragons.

While Sigmundr is usually placid, many things spark his curiosity. Despite having the appearance of a wise king, he is actually a very curious being with a thirst of discovering new things. He just likes to calmly observe from the comfortable spot in his hot spring as opposed to moving about and experimenting, like other intelligent dragons. Sigmundr has an eye for eccentric, weird things. Satisfying his curious nature is one of the ways to appease this titanic beast. Despite his size, Sigmundr is drawn to the little beings surrounding him. Well, at least, little compared to him. He's easily intrigued by the antics of hatchlings, the day-to-day interactions of dragons, and even shiny dewdrops on a tiny leaf. He is also highly interested in humans, the two-legged, tiny inhabitants of nearby islands. How, in fact, could such small creatures take over islands and even match the mighty dragons in battles? That he could never figure out, and it only drives his curiosity of humankind even further.

Yes, Sigmundr is a gentle, compassionate ruler, whose icy breath is chillier than his warm heart. However, even such a king has many flaws.

Sigmundr is lax. One of the main traits a leader should have is assertiveness, but Sigmundr lacks that. Like mentioned before, he is mostly easygoing and tolerant of others. The one thing that Sigmundr would like to keep is peace, so he does not like to go to war. While the chances of battling others are very scarce, his lax disposition might make for some vulnerability in combat with other trained Bewilderbeasts. In fact, that's what caused him to lose the tip of right tusk in a combat ages ago.

Sigmundr can also be rather innocent, especially when it comes to affairs with humans. In his eyes, humans are interesting and wonderful creatures, and not potentially dangerous ones. He has no knowledge of the horrifying deeds that humans could do to him. Even though some of his dragon guests have told him all about the things they do, Sigmundr persistently dismisses those things, thinking that those bad humans are just a minority. As opposed to the cynical views on humans that his subjects harbor, Sigmundr maintains an optimistic disposition towards humans. His friendship with Codetta enforces this perspective of his. As a result, Sigmundr can be a bit gullible when it comes to problems with humans.

However, even the kindest of beings have their limits. Sigmundr is no exception. When his subjects are truly threatened, Sigmundr will stand his ground and won't back down. He will certainly live up to the name that Codetta gave him. Few things are more frightening than the sight of this titan rising up from the depths of the sea, with his usually friendly eyes clouded with the unyielding ferocity of a tempest. Just as his icy breath can create beautiful structures and safe havens, he can also cause a massive destruction. When you see him like this, you should kneel down and plead for forgiveness. Perhaps this mighty king's big heart might still be warm enough to forgive you. Should that approach fail, your best bet would be: turn tail and run, and never ever provoke him or his sanctuary again.

Ah, Sigmundr. An innocent sweetheart with a titanic size, but furious like the raging waves when his subjects are threatened. Like warm embers of a burning hearth in a cold winter, his presence in his sanctuary instills a sense of peace and harmony on all of his guests.

Image

Sigmundr's territory is truly a sight to behold. It is tall, gigantic, and... very, VERY spiky. The whole hive sits on an island, probably volcanic, as it is filled with nice hot springs. From the exterior, Sigmundr's territory looks like two giant sea urchins stacked upwards, with the upper one slightly to the right, constructed by his powerful ice breath. The exterior looks somewhat foreboding, with jagged ice bits pointing out here and there like a well-fortified fortress. There is a small tunnel on one side of the spiky ice walls, leading to the interior. A human's eyes might miss it at first glance, but dragons somehow know where the tunnel entrance is. The tunnel entrance is somewhat hidden by some ice, but if you look closely, it is definitely there. As soon as you go in, however, you know that the foreboding fortress that greeted you out there is just a misimpression. The interior is very warm and cozy, and well-sheltered from bad weather. There are hot springs lying in there, and Sigmundr can often be found relaxing in one of them. The area is filled with plants and a huge variety of herbs, making it one of Codetta's ultimate herb-hunting destination (and Sigmundr allows her to take some herbs). Dragons of many species and colors reside here, some permanently and some temporarily. His territory is a true reflection of his might and his kindness, melded into one by the power of his icy breath.

Codetta Shimmersun

Codetta Shimmersun is a very welcomed guest in his sanctuary. For, not only does she seek protection, she also gives out services in the sanctuary. Likewise, Sigmundr is willing to provide her with whatever she may need to stay alive, as long as it is within his power, that is. Codetta and Sigmundr carries a sense of mutual gratefulness, and they have a strong friendship. However, even their amazing friendship has some downsides. Sigmundr believes that Codetta is proof of his belief regarding humans. That not all humans are bad. While this is true, Sigmundr believes in it a bit too much, making him less wary around humans. Codetta would make sure to protect the sanctuary from humans with ill wishes, though.

Discordance

For most dragons (and humans, and probably other creatures, too), Discordance and Artifice are simply unbearable. They're boisterous, mischievous, and they like to steal. To top it off, they like to annoy others. Most prefer to have nothing to do with the red, black, and white Zippleback (except Codetta, of course). However, Sigmundr can tolerate the two to some degree. If forced to choose between the two heads, however, Sigmundr prefers Discordance over Artifice. Why? First of all, Discordance's mischievous, chaotic nature appeals to Sigmundr's curious nature. The ignition head's shenanigans were delightfully entertaining for the Bewilderbeast to watch, and despite Codetta trying her best to stop Discord from causing too much trouble, Sigmundr knows that Discord does things all for fun. At least, that's what he thinks.

Artifice

As mentioned before, Sigmundr prefers Artifice's brother over Artifice himself. He finds the "elder" (although they're technically twins, Artifice likes to call the shots) brother quite shifty and sly. Sigmundr does not find his sly nature as amusing as Discord's mischief. In fact, Sigmundr can act a little suspicious towards Artifice, as he knows that Art is capable of many deceitful tricks. However, despite this, Sigmundr and Artifice maintains a mutually neutral relationship, and Artifice is sometimes obligated to bow down to the mighty leviathan.

Today, I'm writing in your pages from a different location. No, I'm not safe in my comfortable hut back home. I'm far from that. The storm is roaring outside, and Discordance and Artifice are in no condition to travel back. You know one of those days in which I stumble upon a dragon in the most haphazard of ways? Today is one of those days.

It all started when I was on break from all my duties as a healer's assistance. This morning, I had run many errands for the healer, as well as tend to some hurt Vikings and dragons. I enjoy my work, really, but truth to be told, it could drain much of one's energy. I was finally glad to be able to relax and enjoy the company of Discordance and Artifice. The naughty rascals, but immensely lovable. Sure enough, they were waiting in front of my hut. As soon as I came within neck reach of them (they have very long necks, mind you), the two attached siblings instantly butted each others' heads, fighting for who would be the first to greet me. I laughed and patted them both at the same time. "Hello there, what mischief have you gotten yourselves into while I'm off doing my work?" I asked, smiling. They made some hissing noises, sort of like serpents.

"Come on, let's go for a ride," I told them. I was eager to take a relaxing flight away from the village. I'm never one for actively socializing with others, but I do socialize from time to time. However, it had been a long day full of hard work, and I needed some quiet time. Well, as quiet as having a flight with two mischievous dragon heads could be anyways. I clambered up onto Discordance and Artifice's white back, which was adorned with lots of black and red irregular stripes. My fingers wrapped around one of the protruding scales on his back. I didn't have a saddle crafted for Discordance and Artifice yet, and I keep forgetting about it or I don't have time to go to the local blacksmith to buy a Zippleback saddle. Once I comfortably adjusted myself on the Zippleback's back, Discordance and Artifice spread out their... rather short wings. Then, flapping them, we took off into the air.

The village spread out like a quilt below, dotted with the intricate patterns of huts and flaming torches. The dragons and Vikings below looked like miniature figures, walking around and doing their activities. The setting sun casted warm rays of light on the village. It was a beautiful sight, but the sky was filled with thick, gray clouds. Of course, I didn't take much notice of it at first. After all, bad weather was fairly common. I reached down to my satchel, wanting to check if I had enough herbs in case something went wrong, only to realize that my satchel was gone. "Wha- where did-?" I stuttered, before seeing a familiar satchel flapping in the wind with a familiar leather strap clutched between the jaws of a white-and-black Zippleback head in front of me. "Art!" I scolded, but a giggle escaped my mouth. Artifice grinned smugly, but Discordance did not want to be outdone. Quickly, the red-and-black Zippleback head ripped the satchel out of Artifice's mouth, fortunately without ruining it. Artifice distracted Discordance with some green gas, then slyly took my satchel and returned it to me.

We flew quite a far way off from home, and the sky had turned dark. Well, darker than usual. It was after the sky turned dark that I realized that something was wrong with the weather. The clouds were restless and dark gray, as if waiting to unleash the full fury of a storm down on us. "Maybe we should head back, it's getting late," I told Discordance and Artifice. I trained my eyes down on the ground, only to find that there was no ground. The dark waters below lapped around some rocky pillars. We've been flying for so long that I forgot to keep track of our direction! However, I knew that Discordance and Artifice would know how to get back. That is, if they had the sense not to mess around on the way back.

Drip! Drip! Suddenly, raindrops started pouring down. It started out slow at first, but things went rough pretty fast. Soon, we were in the middle of a full-blown storm! The sea below became dark and choppy. And, like typical Codetta Shimmersun, my trembling hands wrapped around the protruding black scale on Discordance and Artifice's back. Discordance and Artifice waved their necks around in a serpentine way, although it could just be a way of fighting the harsh winds. Now, if I had been on a Skrill or a Night Fury, riding in a storm like this would be a simple feat. Unfortunately, I was riding on a Hideous Zippleback; a species that often gets their heads tangled together.

Discordance and Artifice seemed to know where they were going. However, soon, I saw an unfamiliar, jagged figure in the distance. I couldn't make out what it was as the rain and darkness obscured the view. However, there was one thing I knew: it was humongous. I didn't know why Discordance and Artifice was heading there, but judging by their struggle against the storm's fury, I just decided to trust their instincts. As we got closer, I saw that it was a giant fortress made out of spiky ice sitting on an island. That could only mean one thing: a Bewilderbeast hive. Frankly, I was rather worried about the Bewilderbeast living there. However, an opportunity for shelter? How could I pass that up?

That's when things went from bad to worse. A lightning bolt flashed in the sky, accompanied by a thundering BOOM! The sheer volume of it caused Discordance and Artifice to become disoriented. They tangled their long, serpentine necks together and bashed their heads against each other. Their wings flapped in an unsteady rhythm. Unfortunately, the scale I was holding onto was wet and slippery. Then, Discordance and Artifice gave an unexpected jolt, and my fingers slipped off the scale and I plunged down to the jagged ice spikes below.

Now, I really would like to document how it felt like, and I wish I could say that I took a look around while I fell. I also wish I could say that I tackled the whole experience smoothly, falling off from the back of a Zippleback in the middle of a storm towards some jagged icy bits. But, if I am to be honest, the only thought in my head which escaped through my mouth was: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Before I could smash onto the icy spikes, I felt a tug on my furry jacket hood. Quickly realizing what was happening.... Well, okay, maybe not that quickly. To be honest, I was still screaming like a mad Viking when Discordance bit my jacket hood. At least I had the sense to hold onto my jacket for dear life, though! Good news: Discordance saved my life. Bad news: He swung me too close to an ice spike, letting the sharp point graze my leg. Ouch.

Discordance and Artifice found a way into the fortress. Discordance gently set me down when we got to a rocky passage leading into the hive. We quickly ran through the passage to get to the hive. I was desperate for shelter. However, the sight waiting for me inside the hive blew me away. I was hit with a wave of warmth, despite the whole fortress being made out ice. "What's this?" I gasped. There were hot springs and waterfalls, as well as big trees providing shade. The ground was lined with lush, green grass and herbs were scattered here and there. However, the most amazing part about this fortress was the dragons. There were many dragons running about, doing their business. Some were hatchlings, others were adults. Some were even elderly! However, as soon as I stepped into the area, the dragons all turned and regarded me with cold, disapproving eyes, making me back away.

Discordance and Artifice pushed me forwards, their two heads by my sides. Their green eyes gazed at the other dragons in a way that said, "This is my friend. Do not hurt her.. or else!" Still, some dragons insist on giving me the evil eye. Artifice's mouth opened, releasing a bit of gas as a warning. Discordance and Artifice continued to push me forwards. I heard the sound of water splashing coming closer and closer. That's when I saw it. A gargantuan figure basking in a hot spring. His humongous tail splashed some hot water onto the banks. I saw some dragons enjoying the hot shower that the gigantic dragon gave them. A terrible terror gave a few chatters, and the Class 10 Leviathan cocked his head a little to the side, as if listening to the minuscule dragon. It was a warm and surprising scene, to see such a powerful titan listening to one of the tiniest members of his race. He sent a small puff of cold mist into the air, as if agreeing with the terrible terror. Some of the dragons who noticed me quickly ran to the Bewilderbeast and made some noises, as if reporting our presence.

Discordance and Artifice pushed me closer to the Bewilderbeast. The great king turned his head and saw us. At first, I flinched, thinking that the Bewilderbeast would be angry. After all, we were trespassing on his territory. Especially me. However, as soon as I could bring myself to look into the Bewilderbeast's powder blue eyes, I saw no anger or resent. Only curiosity. Discordance and Artifice made a few hissing and chattering noises to the dragon, as if justifying our presence. The Bewilderbeast got up and water sloshed all around him. He gave a small puff of ice mist to warn all nearby dragons that he was about to move. Then, he took two big steps towards us, which were actually small steps in his perspective. Discordance and Artifice bowed their long necks. I figured that if even the two rebellious, mischievous rascals would bow to this grand king, I should do so as well. I bowed awkwardly to the Bewilderbeast. His gentle powder blue eyes continued to stare at me with curiosity, and a deep rumble sounded from his throat.

Suddenly, there were many shrieks, growls, hisses, and chatters. The four of us (Discordance, Artifice, the Bewilderbeast, and I) turned our heads towards the source, which was the entrance. Many wet, disheveled dragons made their way through the entrance. I could relate to them. Being stuck in such a storm brought by Thor was enough to make you one feel wet and miserable. However, what caught my eye was that some of the dragons were injured. One dragged her injured wing into the hive and plopped down as soon as she reached the hive. The Bewilderbeast stood up (it appeared to have been crouching when he acknowledged us), concern filling his powder blue eyes. I quickly half-ran and half-limped (my leg still hurt at that time) towards the injured dragons.

The injured and wet dragons were all wary of me at first, but I quickly eased them. "Shh," I whispered. "It's okay." I approached the injured she-dragon, who was too tired to move away. I grabbed some herbs from my satchel and used a rock to mash them together. "Now, this may hurt for just a second," I said, gently. I rubbed the mush on the female dragon's injured wing. The dragon gave a small growl, but stopped soon after I applied the mush. I could tell that the pain was starting to ease. The other dragons regarded me with curious stares. Their gaze were no longer cold, but full of intrigue. Discordance and Artifice grinned proudly.

I continued to tend to the injured dragons, while my Zippleback went off to play pranks on the local dragons. As I did so, I could feel the Bewilderbeast's gaze constantly on me. The dragons soon came to feel comfortable around me, although they are not ready to trust me yet. Once I was done, it was late at night, but the storm was still going on. I was tired, but satisfied. To be able to help so many injured wild dragons! When would I have the opportunity to do so? I went over to a log near the Bewilderbeast and sat down, wincing as I did so. My leg hurt, and I was still cold and wet. Suddenly, the Bewilderbeast approached me with a step that was like a mere inch to him. His powder blue eyes were still filled with curiosity, but they were also filled with gratitude. He opened his mouth and sounded a bellow. The mane of spikes protruding from the back of his neck vibrated, as if he was sending a signal to the dragons in the hive.

I was wondering what he was doing, until some dragons came by with a bunch of logs and a few small pieces of wood. They dropped the wood in front of me. Some Boulder class dragons arranged small stones around the logs, as if forming a ring. Then, some Stoker class dragons lit the wood, creating a campfire. The warmth made me comfortable and less cold. I took off my jacket and placed it on the log I was sitting on to dry. I looked up at the Bewilderbeast, who looked back at me. "Thank you, Sigmundr," I said, giving a bow of my head. I didn't know why I named him, but it just felt right. Besides, I couldn't keep calling him "The Bewilderbeast", could I? That wouldn't be very regal. Sigmundr bowed his head in return, then sent a puff of ice mist into the air. He then retreated back into his hot spring pool.

So, now, here I am. Sitting on a log while documenting recent happenings in your pages. I probably should go check on Discordance and Artifice to make sure that they're not causing any trouble in Sigmundr's kingdom, but I guess I need to bandage my leg first.

- I'm gonna be here until I'm nothing -
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Hello there! My name is River song, but most people just call me
River. You might have seen me around Berk Dragon sanctuary
before, or maybe this is your first time even hearing of me.
Whatever the case, I am here to try and get my hands on one of
my favortie dragon species (that was a lie. I love every dragon ever.)
the bewilderbeast. I have always been fascinated by the sheer power
of these dragons, and after a bit I came up with the perfect character.

Two figures, clad in thick furs and leather walked slowly, weapons drawn. One of them turned to the other, and spoke in a gruff voice.
"Do you still have the baby?" As if in response, a small figure, swaddled in blankets stirred in the man's arms.
"Of course I do. I am not the kind of person to loose a baby."
"I wasn't implying that."
"Good." Both of the men wore pronged helmets, and cast a threatening, almost animal, shadow against the dull ground. The baby, still held by one of the vikings, opened bright brown eyes. The small baby looked around, her eyes at first relaxed, and then as she became more aware of her surroundings, a hint of panic crept in. She was not with her mother. Who were these strange men? Why was she alone? Where was her family? The baby, not knowing what was going on, did the only thing she knew how to do. She began to cry.

The man glanced at the baby, gently shushing her. He was too late. There was a deep rumbling, and the ground seemed to shift. Then, a mighty figure rose, snow streaming off his mane-like spines and eyes flashing dangerously. The bewilderbeast let out a roar, eyes fixing on the baby.

Both men looked at each other. The first one turned to run, and the second one soon followed, dropping the baby. She landed and rolled, her blankets protecting her form serious damage, however a sharp rock leaving a deep cut in the child's face. The dragon growled, making sure the men were gone.

Then, he leaned down his mighty head and very gently picked up the baby. He was not going to let anyone hurt her.

﴾ Description ﴿
Tranquil purple eyes open slowly, yet deliberately. They blink once, and as a cloud passes overhead, blotting out the sun they seem to change color. The violet iris flickers, deepening to a rich, royal blue. Then, the cloud moves on, and the creatures eyes turn back to a clean, crystalline purple. The bewilderbeast's scales glinted, dark gray against a snowy white sky. He gave a large yawn, gaping jaws revealing fish like teeth and a curled, red tongue. The dragon closed his mouth, giving his head a sharp shake. His mane like frills caught the light, their long ends not the same grey as his body, yet an icy blue. The dragon's face was almost white, yet held subtle undertones of ice blue. The white scales traced down his belly, reaching to just below his rib-cage before the blue becomes more prominent, yet still faded. He blinks, eyes flashing, and pulls his lips into a dragon like smile. He crouches down, into an almost cat like pose. His blackish grey feet dig into the ground, sharp silver claws carving ruts. The dragon's well muscled body tenses, and then, almost without warning, he leaps forward. Two mighty fins unfold from his back, the same blue so common on his coloration. For a moment, he is in the air, flying, however his massive body weight soon drags the dragon back to the earth. He land on three legs, favoring his right foreleg. His smile falls as he glances towards his leg. The black scales here are heavily damaged, massive scars criss-crossing over on another like cobwebs. He gently licks his scars, old wounds that hold painful memories.

﴾ Color ﴿

Trygve is a beautiful dragon. His scales are a rich, healthy grey that shimmer in a mirror-like fashion. On his face, his scales fade to a soft white with just a hint of blue. This colour circles around his eyes in an almost husky style marking. This marking then continues down his belly. Just before his ribs it begins to gradient into less white and more of a faded blue. At the point just before his hips, the marking goes up slightly, and then dips back down continuing along the length of his tail. At the very tip of his tail the blue fades to black. This black is also seen on his legs and feet. Just above his knees, the dark grey deepens in colour and merges into a rich, glittering dark scales. However, on his right foreleg the scales seem dull, and countless deep scars mark from just below the knee to his foot. Some of these scars are small, too small for the massive dragon to even notice, however many of them are big enough to impact Trygve's walking.

Trygve has a beautiful mane of spines. Most of the ridges along his massive body darken slightly, yet his crest of frills do the complete opposite. Their colour lightens to an arctic blue, vibrant and similar to the colour of his wing membrane. The row of spines down his back start as his grey base, and darken considerably. As they progress down his back, the tips become less and less dark.

The back of Trygve's wings are lighter than the rest of his body, although not as light as his underbelly. The colour could be compared to concrete, cold and light grey.

﴾ Eyes ﴿
Have you ever gazed into something for so long, that the rest of the world seems to blur? Have you ever stared at the flickering embers of a fire, blue and red flames sputtering, right before they die? Have you ever watched in horror as a shadow flickers in the corner of your eye, even though you know you are alone. To look into the eyes of Trygve is to look at all these combined, a whirling riptide of beauty, danger, and pain. His eyes are violet, on their most basic levels.

﴾ Wings & fins ﴿

Trygve's wings are a cold blue that shimmers and catches the light. The membrane is almost ice like, and although it appears fragile it is actually very strong.

His fins are a dark grey-blue. They have even coloration, however the fin on his right foreleg is very tattered. This can be troubling, however due to bewilderbeasts being flightless it does not affect Trygve horribly.

﴾ Tusks ﴿

Trygve's tusks are bone white and deadly looking. Many deep grooves and chips are evident in the bony structures. The most noticable is two large grooves that run down almost the whole length of his left tusk, and a large chip off the end of the behemoths right tusk.

﴾ Claws ﴿

To Trygve, his claws are his greatest weapons. They are deadly sharp, and match the bleached white of his massive tusks. They are all perfect, until you look at his mangled right foreleg. Here, his claws are chipped and scratched, with the middle one missing it's tip.

﴾ Body language ﴿

The most obvious thing about Trygve is that the mighty creature limps. He is constantly favoring his right foreleg, and if he is to stand still he will stand with this leg up. It is obvious that his old injuries are still painful, as whenever he steps with his right foot he winces, however this is only noticeable if you are looking closely. He normally walks in long strides, swinging his massive head side to side with each step.

﴾ Personality ﴿
Overprotective - Untrusting of newcomers - Loving - Pessimistic - Dislikes humans - Unlikely to defend strangers - Loving - Just want’s what is best

﴾ History ﴿
For the beginning of his life, Trygve lived happily, if not a tad lonely. Due to a harsh winter the year of his hatching, when he came into this world neither of his parents were there. He was not bothered by this, yet never really knew another dragon. As he grew, so did the population of Vikings in his territory. The bewilderbeast saw no problem with this. His island had plenty of territory, and letting another group of creatures live beside him would do no harm.
Soon these vikings learnt that there was a dragon in there area. Not any dragon, but a dragon that could beat any other dragon. A bewilderbeast. This caused an uproar. The village of vikings soon transformed into an army. They were going to claim this dragon, and nothing, dragon or otherwise, was going to stop them.

As the army of vikings approached his large cave, the bewilderbeast felt a rising sense of panic. He knew that something was wrong, however what it was he was unsure. That was when the mob arrived. Catapults and flames drove him out of his gave, however he was greeted with chaos. The mighty creature, still young and uncertain of the world, fled back inside his cave. He thought he was safe in there. He couldn't be more wrong. A catapult triggered a tragic rock-slide. Not only did the rocks crush the onslaught of vikings, yet also took a toll on the bewilderbeast.

His right foreleg was caught in the waterfall of rocks. He was trapped for over a week in a dark cave, only accompanied by flies that swarmed over his wounded leg. Finally, in a desperate attempt to free himself, the bewilderbeast dug his way out with his tusks, severely damaging them in the process, however saving his own life.

Once he was free from the cave, things started to make sense. The people who he had allowed to share his island had turned on him. He couldn't trust anyone.

He rampaged the remains of their village, leaving behind nothing but dramatic ice-scapes and shards of wood. It was here that the lonely behemoth planned to spend the rest of his life. He didn't know it, but in eighteen years his life would change forever.

A group of dragon hunters had heard about the island with the mighty dragon, and had set sail instantly. Somewhere along the way they learnt of a rumour.
“The best way to lure a dragon is by using a human baby.”

The dragon hunters had no problem with stealing a baby from a nearby town, and quickly took a small, brown eyed girl, leaving a wrecked village in their wake. Once the dragon hunters landed, the dragon, remembering what had happened with the last humans, was enraged that other humans had come. He attacked mercilessly, and the hunters were not prepared for his brute strength. He slashed through them, and soon only two hunters were left. One of them was clutching onto a small, black haired baby.

The dragon did not want to hurt the small child, so he faked a lunge and the hunter dropped the baby. This is how the bewilderbeast found a friend, and his rider.

He called her Tochtli, and in return she grew to call the dragon Trygve. There friendship formed quickly, however as she grew older Tochtli began to wonder why she was not a dragon like her father, yet something different. She tried to be as much like a dragon as she could, even building herself a set of working wings and claws. However, at the age of eighteen, she decided to set off on an adventure.

After two weeks of her being gone, Trygve became frantic, and set off on a search for his daughter. He found her, struggling to communicate with humans through the chirps and clicks that she understood. These humans were on an island known as “Berk”. Trygve saw that his daughter was happy with her own kind, and slowly retreated back to his home island, saddened without Tochtli there.

Two weeks later, he awoke to a familiar noise. His daughter had returned, but this time she had brought a dragon with her. This continued for a while, and now Trygve is the “Alpha” of many.

well I was out for a walk
somewhere that I can't be found
like a forest,
but one that's only in my mind
built of memories
only you and I have shared
I'm back in my spot
the one where I can't be found
wrapped in stories,
the ones where we were good
and our dreams were more than
ways to pass the time
