Why the fireflies are following them;; Sludge smells like sugar water since he is always drinking it. And everyone knows that fireflies love sugar water.

Why the fireflies are following them;; Jacob eats fireflies. Like, a lot. So, he filled up a jar with things fireflies eat and hung it around his neck- sometimes in the dark, a few stray fireflies will follow him, and he can nom them.

Why the fireflies are following them;; This grumpy feline has no clue why they like to stick with him. They are like bright flashing flies to him. If he had to guess he'd probably say that it's due to his damaged tail cord. Overall it works but it got a little damaged in a fight, the same fight that caused his scars. This damage causes small sparks to occur as it cut part of the cord and that seems to attract them. It might just be the fact that it mimics the fireflies own lighted communication.

Why the fireflies are following them;;
Zombie used to be a feared rusty hazard. She would get into various fights, got scars, but always won. But, victory can be boring sometimes. Victory became so boring that zombie quit the high life, left the city, and stumbled upon the forest. Here zom found some injured fireflies on the other side of a pond with blocked sides. She decided to swim to the fireflies, a a sign of comfort. Zombie took them and crossed back. She came out of the strange liquid with a strange smell she could not get off. The fireflies seemed to like it. As soon as they were healed, zombie thought they would live better in the wild. But they followed her everywhere. They help her see in areas of little light, guide her through areas with lots of foliage, all to repay for the day she saved them. Eventually the two fireflies had children, and so a small group of fireflies followed her. Some would wander away, but usually came back. Some left to have a life. Some stayed. Now, sweet smelling zombie and her fireflies explore possible territory. And, if any cat tries to harm them or threats them, she will protect them.

Why the fireflies are following them;; He accidentally stumbled upon their hideout. Since then (much to his dismay) they've been tailing him about wherever he goes. He's tried getting rid of them or throwing them off his trail, but it seems that by finding their home they've been drawn to him in one way or another. He thinks his duller fire might've been mistaken for another firefly by the large hoard, which now think of him as one of them-- but he has no real way of knowing.

Why the fireflies are following them;;
This big scary guy may not look like it, but he's actually a big softy. He saved their breeding ground and where they lay their eggs from a nasty bullfrog after scaring the bullfrog away the bugs seemed to show their gratitude by not only living around his lonely house in the dark swampy woods but when he's outside at night they help guide him home with their light to make a path.
These little guys aren't the only little animal that's bonded to him, he also has several other animals hanging around his house including a family of ducks, a Robbin that sings to him ever morning and a turtle that "guards" his dock on side of the swamp.

Why the fireflies are following them;;
Vincent usually has some slug larvae on him since he tends to sleep in peoples gardens a lot, and the slug larvae tend to think he is some type of vegetation before they realize that he isn't. So the firflies tend to follow him for their next meal that Vincent has on him (slug larvae). Which he doesn't mind all that much, since the fireflies are basically just cleaning him.

Why the fireflies are following them;;Oddly enough, his fur and eyes catch their attention. enough though the colors are dull, the green fur kind of reminds them of grass, and has a grassy scent to it.

Why the fireflies are following them;; They're attracted to the faint glow from his screen, and they just sorta stick around. He doesn't mind them that much, and he sometimes uses them to help him fall asleep, kind of like counting sheep (but with fireflies).
