Juymara Pride Adopts

Our History

We fought for our land. Some too hard,but all losing everything. After our numbers started crashing, we all ran to the valley, and hid like cowards. But... it was like we knew we were waiting for something. Something to save our home, some glimmer of hope somewhere from the dark. Then... He came. "Hahaha~ Hello there friend!" He didn't look like any of the lions we knew. But something told us we would never be the same after meeting him. He handed us a vial of his voodoo and told us "If you really wish to save your home, you all should partake in this, but I warn. Once you drink it, there is no going back. But there is only new beginning.~" Though his appearance was unsettling. What position could we really have to say no. We were hunted down to despicable numbers. So we took part in the ritual. When we came to in the morning. We felt stronger, more capable. And more alive. The Doctor's howling roar echoed over the valley. It felt as powerful as we felt and full of the same vigor. We roared and howled as well. We will keep fighting. And spreading this power for the good of our land. The Juymara Pride will grow and save our fellow beasts. And we will conquer the destroyers. Our planet depends on it.. On us.

Rules

This is a closed species you are not allowed to: recreate the species, make your own, sell the species, trade the species, or claim this as your own species.
If you own a Juymara Pride member, you can only trade them with other people who own one. And you must let us know when you plan to trade them so we can keep track in the archives.
You are not allowed to breed your own Juymara. You are not allowed to use the designs on other animals. Only use it on the Juymara you own.
You are not allowed to change the design. This includes: add things such as wings, extra horns, fur tuffs, or changing the colors, design of the fur, and ect.
Listen to the mods. If you are unsure about anything, ask on the page.
If you take your character off site you must link back here and credit me.
IF YOU BREAK THE RULES YOU WILL BE PUT ON PROBATION. IF YOU BREAK THEM TWICE YOU WILL BE BANNED AND YOUR JUYMARA TAKEN.

About the Juymara Males:
Males are part Lion/wolf/Raptor/Rhino/ and Bull. They are known for their charging and sometimes rash temperaments. They aren't aggressive unless threatened and tend to try and avoid fighting unless for honor or protecting their prides. They rely on sheer power to take down their opponent and have been known to easily snap the femur of an adult Elephant if enraged.

Character Bio: Hyperion, or Rio as he's more often called, is an overgrown cub most of the time. He bounces, bounds, and frolics about with the best of them, stalking butterflies with the same intense focus as a seasoned hunter might pursue some particularly plump prey. Known best for his playful, impish nature, it is nevertheless not the only facet to Rio's personality.

Rio is very impatient and rash, much akin to many males of his kind. Staying still, keeping to one place, really, really doesn't apeal to him. He gets real twitchy and irritable when 'caged like a ruddy rat', or 'pinned up all pretty like some pitiful butterfly', in his own words. If anyone thinks to force him into doing anything of the sort, well, a ten foot pole won't be assuring anyone of their safety.

Rio is also fairly protective over those he takes under wing, and any sort of youth. Or overprotective, as some adamantly insist. He may grumble over such a claim, but will never really refute it. There was even this one time when Rio all but mauled another male when said Juymara attempted to bat about and toy with a wounded blue jay Rio had taken in.

He sticks to his morals like a tick to a hound, and among those moral values one of the strongest is the belief that those who can't protect themselves should be protected by those who can- the stronger ones. Old, young, wounded, or otherwise handicapped, Rio has become somewhat well known for his bleeding heart.

But having been in such a position himself, how could he not sympathize with others' plights? Born small and sickly to distant, heartsore parents who thought he had no chance, it was only due to his aunt that he was ever able to grow at all. She became his idol in what seemed like no time at all, and it is her teachings that he's taken to heart.

"Every creature deserves a chance to live, my hyper little fuzzbutt. To refuse to give you that chance out of fear... I understand their reasoning, but it's not a choice I could ever stand behind." She paused for a moment, peering down at the cub nestled against her flank with soft sapphire eyes. Silently her gaze met his own enquisitive, insecure, azure, a mute understanding passing between the two.

"No one chooses to be born as they are, as what they are, but they can choose what they're going to do with the life they're given. You can't help how you were born, fuzzbutt, but that doesn't mean your fate is set in stone." Unspoken, the words lingered in the air; 'You're not dead yet. I won't act like it.' Two pairs of bright blue eyes watched as a lion and lioness comforted one another, paying no mind to their upset audience.

The cub seemed to shrink into himself, his aunt fighting back a snarl as she picked up on the precious soul's distress. Four stillborn litters and then Rio's- two stillborns and a runt barely hanging on. Months had passed, and rather than celebrating their cub's continued health, they mourned as though just waiting for him to kick the bucket. His continued health apparently paining them, of all things, as they fought against a supposedly false hope.

She chuffed quietly, embittered a bit by her own infertility and the duo's clear disregard of their one surviving cub. Ears swiveling, she caught the dry, rasping inhales and harsh, rattling exhales of the youth by her side. Watching her beloved charge, a steely resolve stole across her gaze.

She'd find the strange doctor her stubborn, prideful sire once turned away, and hope to the stars above that he'd be able, and willing, to help her nephew before it was too late. Brimstone or bubbles, one way or another, she'd see him survive.

Character Bio: Grimm is a tough seeming Juymara, he stands strong and bravely faces danger without showing any signs of fear. Grimm isn't as intimidating as he first appears to be since he wants to be the kind of male who can protect what he loves without any trace of doubt in his mind. He loves his pride members fiercely, even the other dominant males like him. He would fight anyone for them with all of his heart. Though he is tough around foes, he's a big softie among his pride, they know him as the 'cuddler' any and all young Juymara have cuddled with this gentle fellow at least once before. He watches over the little ones just like any Juymara female would without even being asked or told to do it, he just loves those cute younglings.

Character Bio: Brazen, the youngest of four, always knew he was different. He was more mature, felt feelings differently. He would never know what to do in an emotionally demanding situation. And then came Willow, his best friend. She understood him. She believed in him. She taught him to be himself, not to care what others thought. She broke him of his worrysome ways. Willow and Brazen were later diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.
