This spooky Bitty is called a Triffeth. They are headless entities born of the wind. A common misconception is that they eat using their mouth. In fact, they eat the same way their plant does: photosynthesis. The tree, or sometimes another plant, is a Triffeth's life-force. In the winter these Bitties tend to curl up in a nice warm cave and wait out the cold through hibernation like many earth creatures. Their trees and plants change just like ours commonly do as well, which is why they must hibernate. If they don't they risk starving.
But what about the mouth? Well, that's where it gets confusing. The mouth is simply a bunch of different sensors that help this Bitty function as if it could see. The teeth feel vibrations and convert them into understandable messages, the most common being sound. Because a Triffeth has no need for taste their tongue is a giant sensor of smell that can be used like a radar. Microscopic hairs along the lips sense temperature changes so that the Bitty knows when it has to sleep and when it can wake up again.
