Why:
When Maximilian Meyer, head of Maximilian Design Incorporated, introduces his customers and new employees to his beloved kitty companion, Drywall, he often gets strange looks. However, as a very successful professional interior designer, he has very little time to spare, and often doesn't bother explaining his queer choice of name. You may want to pester one of the older contractors on their coffee break for the answer if you want to hear the whole story.

Two years ago, Maxi was trying to make a debut in the interior design business. He had just recently been commissioned by an influential figure in his community to design the inside of new house. The customer's only request was that the interior was to be "aesthetically pleasing as well as functional". If Maxi was successful and pleased his customer, it could mean a huge raise in demand for his work, and his dream of becoming a sought after professional would come true.

Maximilian arrived early one morning at the job-site, ready to tacle the task of planning out the wall colours and flooring. The drywall had just been put up the night prior.
As he inspected the rooms, Maxi heard the faint sound of meowing. Now, wasn't that odd? He made an attempt to follow the sound to it's source, but it soon stopped. As time is money, Maxi decided to move on and forget he had ever heard the noise. Maximilian soon arrived at the dining room of the house but realized something was wrong. The construction team had put up a wall between the dining room and the kitchen, which did not allow for the light from the kitchen windows to pass through to the windowless dining room! Maximilian quickly summoned some members of the team to take down the wall. Annoyed as this would cause a set back, Maxi picked up a mallet to help out; they couldn't waste any more time!
As the first swing of the mallet hit the wall, the meowing started up again, only this time loud, insistent and frightened. Surprised, Maximilian dropped the mallet. He carefully used his hands to break away a section of the drywall, and as his jaw practically dropped. In behind the wall, only about a half a meter away from where the mallet struck, was a small, frightened, orange tabby cat, covered in white drywall dust. It looked up at him and blinked as he reached over and picked it up, pulling it close to his chest. It snuggled into him and began to pur, bringing a smile to Maxi's face. The poor cat must have ran behind the drywall when they were putting it up the previous night, and got trapped when both sides were screwed on.
Maxi walked through the house and outside, the construction team following him in awe. He halted in the middle of the backyard, and placed the small kitty on the ground. "A job site is no place for animals." He told the cat. Maximilian began to walk away, but the cat refused to leave him, and instead rubbed itself against his leg. He sighed and picked up the cat placing the feline around his neck like a scarf. "Maybe it's time I got myself a sidekick... Maxi and Drywall, the interior designer and his cat." He smiled, and thought for a moment."The form, and the function- you need both to be successful!"
