❀❀ His name;; Fabien is a French name that originated from the Latin name Fabian. It's a rather unusual masculine name as not many people have this name. I discovered this unique name while trying to find a French name that suited this parra's looks and personality, and when I first read the name Fabien, it won me over immediately. To me the name sounds elegant and classy, if not a little stuck up, and that is how I envisioned this parra's personality at first glance. I can only hope that you feel the same way I do about this unusual name.

❀❀ His sexuality;; Fabien is homosexual but for some reason he's scared to let anyone know about it so he flirts with every girl in a 100 foot radius and acts snooty and rude towards other men with the hopes that this will make them stay away from him. He's quite the ladies' man as it turns out and he treats every woman he meets like royalty -- showering her with gifts like flowers and chocolate and talking to her with the utmost respect and admiration that every woman deserves.

❀❀ His age;; He doesn't like to disclose his age because even though he's only a few years older than some of his most beloved friends, he feels A LOT older whenever he speaks his age outloud or mentions something from his childhood that one of his friends may have never even heard of.

❀❀ His song;; My reasoning behind my song choice is one that's kind of hard to explain. Originally, Fabien was going to be a complete douche to be honest but when I heard this song on the radio while I was writing his backstory... well, it really changed my way of thinking about his character. When you read his backstory and personality, I think you'll understand my choice and I really hope you love it as much as I've come to love it.

[❁ Prideful || In the past, Fabien was ashamed of his large ears which lead to him having low self-esteem and anxiety, but years later when he matured and (kinda) grew into his ears, he realized they were a very unique feature of his. This realization lead to his confidence boosting and him gaining higher self-esteem but, after a while, this confidence and pride turned into a form of vanity and it also made him act very snobby towards the parras whom he remembers bullying him about his large ears.

[❁ Respectful || Fabien may act quite vain at times and a bit hostile towards other males, but that doesn't make him any less of a gentleman. He addresses every woman he meets with either "mademoiselle" or "madame" and every man he meets as "monsieur" since addressing people in this manner shows a great deal of respect. The only thing is, though, Fabien expects the same gesture in return and his tail feathers tend to get in a twist when he is not adressed with the utmost courtesy.

[❁ Distant || I wouldn't call Fabien completely anti-social but I wouldn't consider him to be friendly either. Fabien is quite the recluse as it turns out -- he's not fond of getting out of the house and he'll refuse to leave unless one of his friends is convincing enough to get him to go to some public place. He loves a good party, as longs as it is at his own house where he's comfortable. At parties, he likes to talk to everyone but he never quite shows them his real self. One his dearest friends are actually close enough to see the real Fabien.

[❁ Know-it-all || Fabien tends to act like he knows a lot more than he actually does which usually ends up with him saying something stupid in an attempt to impress someone with his 'vast knowledge.' Whenever he slips up and says a wrong fact, it usually makes him look like a complete fool to whoever he was talking to and to whomever was listening to the conversation. Fabien isn't a moron but he isn't astonishingly brilliant either.

[❁ Charming || Fabien really knows how to sweet-talk someone into giving him his way -- just the flash of his smile could win someone over. Fabien may act like a bit of a douche at times, but when he wants his way, he knows how to get it. All it takes is the slight tilt of the head, a nice smile, and his fake good-natured flirty personality to make someone like him.

[❁ Gossipy || With ears that big, you can imagine that Fabien hears a lot of gossip, because of this he has developed the nasty habit to go around spouting everything interesting that he overheats to every other soul he meets. Even if he doesn't know that the gossip is true or not, he'll spread if around like the black plague.

[❁ Stoic || At parties, Fabien pretends to be a cheerful and talkative host, when in reality he is indifferent and doesn't seem to feel a lot of emotion. Not many parras have seen this side of him but it's there. Fabien feels as many emotions as the next parra but he always masks what he's reallt feeling with some fake demeanor. This has lead to not many parras truly understanding Fabien except those in his closest circle of friends.

❀❀ Alex Jett;; It would be an understatement to say that Fabien and Alex's relationship had a rocky start, they hated each other from the beginning pretty much. Fabien's tendency to be rude towards other males rubbed Alex the wrong way -- especially since Alex was flirting with Fabien at the time and it frustrated the heck out of Alex that his advances were being rejected. This lead to Alex acting like one hell of a punk towards Fabien which ruffled Fabien's feathers (he may often be rude to other guys, but he doesn't know what to do when they're rude back.) Both Fabien and Alex are quite vain and self-centered acting parras which pushed them apart even more since it seemed whenever they were in a room together it was a silent fight to see who could one-up the other in order to see who was better. After awhile though of observing each other and running into each other at parties, the two realized each other's insecurities and some other things. The stubborn Alex put on his most determined face and started to try and make Fabien let him in until Alex finally broke Fabien's defensive wall and Fabien accepted Alex as kind of a friend. Don't tell anyone but Fabien and Alex may harbor secret feelings for each other but who knows.

❀❀ Sucre;; Fabien and Sucre have a very complicated relationship. Fabien doesn't understand her mischievous nature and desire to play pranks on other's. Fabien thinks it's quite annoying and childish of her and he doesn't appreciate any of the stupid pranks that she's played on him (she once replaced his shampoo with hair removal cream and, trust me, he hasn't forgiven her for that yet). Fabien is also repulsed by Sucre's habit to consume such awfully large amounts of sugar and other sweets that it makes me hallucinate (he has questioned her sanity more than once). Fabien used to admire Sucre for her practical views on life level head -- he even flirted with her some and bought her a bundle of roses -- until he realized that she had a couple screws loose in her head. They still talk some but he tries to keep his distance as best he can.

❀❀ Pandora Vitree;; Fabien and Pandora are kind of friends, kind of not. There is no apparent animosity between Fabien and Pandora -- they're too refined to fight amonst themselves like children... unlike Alex Jett. Pandora is not one of Fabien's dearest friends but Pandora always attends the extravagant parties Fabien holds at his mansion that Pandora has deemed parties worthy of royalty. Pandora sometimes goes to Fabien's large home to discuss the latest gossip with him over a cup of freshly-brewed tea and whatever mini pastries Fabien bakes. Fabien appreciates Pandora's classy nature and the fact that Pandora is fluent in French, just like Fabien. Fabien doesn't mind Pandora's arrogant nature or his tendency to obsessively hoard specific items, Fabien feels like Pandora makes up for it with his respectful attitude and his personality that is just as equally charming as Fabien's. Fabien admires Pandora's unique dragon-esque wings and horns and he secretly finds Pandora to be very attractive and he wants to be able to relate to Pandora emotionally.

❀❀ Kimber;; Kimber admires Fabien for how fashionable he is and his amount of confidence. She treats him like her role model and she tries to mirror parts of his personality as best she can. Fabien finds her to be quite annoying but he treats her like a little princess because he refuses to treat a lady like she is anything less than royalty (except Sucre but he's not sure if she's even a lady exactly). Kimber is extremely hyper, optimistic and friendly and Fabien is often a bit overwhelmed by her hyper activeness and inability to stop talking. Fabien showers the young parra with gifts like flowers and candy and she loves and admires him even more for it. In a way he has accidentally taken her in as his prodigy as he often lets her hang around when he's working and let her ask questions and take notes -- I don't think he even realizes that Kimber has turned into his pupil yet.

❀❀ Iruka;; Iruka and Fabien don't talk much but Fabien has often noticed the peculiar young parra at some of the parties Fabien has hosted at his mansion. Iruka is a bit of a whiny boy and he's prone to freak attacks where he calls everything "Illuminati." Fabien doesn't think the parra is quite as odd as Sucre but he knows that Iruka is a tad strange. Fabien doesn't judge Iruka too harshly for his oddness, though, because Iruka is of a royal Egyptian blood line and Fabien admires and respects him for that. Fabien is curious about Iruka's culture and he wants to get to know him more if Iruka's weirdness doesn't repulse Fabien too much.

In his youth, Fabien was a boy with extremely low self-esteem because of his unique physical features that tended to make him stand out of the crowd of other parras, which frustrated his peers and made them jealous despite the fact that academically and socially speaking he was no better than them in any way. The other parra children made fun of his unnaturally large and sensitive ears -- they'd pull on his ears and yell in them to give him headaches. Though originally confident because of how his parents had always told him that he was a unique and beautiful little boy, his confidence dropped like a rock in a pond because of the way his classmates tormented him. And not only did they torment him for his unusual looks but they also cruelly teased him by calling him 'gay' before Fabien had even realized his own sexuality.

Fabien had what can be considered the "stereotypical middle-class upbringing" -- average parents, average school, average house, average friends. Despite the fact that he was viciously bullied, I can't say that he wasn't loved -- it would be a great injustice to say that considering how dearly his parents nurtured him and sheltered him from the bad parts of the world while he was growing up. Fabien loved and appreciated his parents, but honestly, he just wanted to turn his life around, he knew if he stayed where he was, he would always be viewed as a weirdo and he wanted to change that. He wanted to become something more.

When Fabien was around the age of 16, he packed up what belongings he could carry on his back, kissed his mother on the cheek goodbye, told his father that he was proud to be his son, and then set out to "find himself" in the vast world he was about to enter. When he first set foot in the real world, Fabien was confident with his work abilities and charisma... until he realized that the real world can eat parras up and then spit them out again a changed parra -- which was a truly terrifying realization to him. Unable to find suitable work, Fabien ended up living off what pennies and dimes the parras around him were willing to share which lead to him going some days without eating a single meal.

Fabien eventually found work with the circus, not his first choice of job but he knew it would have to do if he didn't want to end up on the streets again living off charity. They dressed him up like a stupid clown and made him dance and perform risky gymnast tricks using his tail and beak to hold on to the bars. Other times he'd have to be shamed in front of the audience by making a fool of himself doing some stupid clown trick that used his unnaturally large ears against him in a way. Fabien didn't make a whole lot of money working for the circus but he made enough to buy himself the essentials of living.

After working with the circus for 5 years and saving up his money, Fabien abandoned his life as a circus clown in order to build the life that he set out to build 5 years prior. Fabien did his best to destroy the evidence that he'd ever been a circus freak and found himself a job as an intern at a fashion company after flaunting some of his design ideas for an executive at a fashion company. Fabien interned for a couple years, slowly climbing his way to the top, until he scored himself an executive position because of his brilliant fashion designs. Fabien started saving his money again until he was able to gain enough to move to America where he could truly start his life over. But in the process of starting his life over, he changed himself to the point where he was virtually unrecognizable to anyone who had known him before. Now Fabien owns his own fashion company and he lives in what many consider a mansion. Quite a few parras are jealous of Fabien and the life he lives but none of them understand what he gave up to get to his point. He shuts out the memories of his past and refuses to reflect on them at all and, to him, his life didn't officially start until it started over.

❀❀ Excessive groomer;; Every time he passes a mirror or a reflective window or pane of glass, he has to pause and admire himself in the mirror to make sure he still looks nice or just to stare at himself because he knows he's 'perfect.' If he sees a single strand of hair out of place, he has to stop whatever he's doing just to fix it.

❀❀ Onychophagia;; This is a disorder to frequently chew on one's nails. This developed from a nervous or stressed or anxious tendency that he picked up sometime during his life. This disorder may not seem like a big deal but it could lead to health problems.

❀❀ Left-handed;; He is left-handed and has excellent penmanship but for some odd reason he pretends to be right-handed even though his hand-writing looks sloppy and butchered when he writes with his right-hand. Lord knows why he refuses to let anyone that he's left-handed and that he has incredibly near and fancy cursive handwriting.
