I reversed the horse trailer into the small yards, my mustang mare kicking at the float walls and whinnying frightfully. My excited dog ran around the car barking at the tires and trying to rip off the number plate.
I stopped the car and the frightened horse stomped her feet and neighed, wanting to get out quickly. I swung open the gate and opened the float door, the mare galloped straight out and into the yards, quickly I closed the large metal gate and moved the ute and trailer into the shed.
The dog sat at the fence, watching the new horse with interest and wagging his tail when she crashed near, the frightened horse gallop in circles around the yards. I called the dog away inside and watched my new horse.
She seemed to settle down when the dog was inside, allowing me to go into the yard and get near to her.
5 meters, 4 meters, 3 meters I stood still with my arms out stretched with a carrot on the end... she came closer sniffing the carrot her lips touched the treat but she shied away, galloping around the yards.
Better not rush things, I thought as I exited the yard and went inside.
