Ahhhhhhh I love her <3 She is a new favorite of mine. Her name shall be Zelda!!!

-First touch-
The Nera horses all crowded around the field, blocking my view as I tried to find my newest gal. Up high in the top of the oak tree, Zelda sat, her light spots seeming to swell in the sun's bright light. I put my hands on my hips and then let out a sigh. I grabbed the branch of the tree and started to climb upwards. She looked down at me and then began to stand. I looked at her hoping that she would not go back down. As soon as I got close enough to touch her, she leaped down to a lower branch and hopped onto the ground. She let out a high pitch whinny and grabbed a branch with her tail, feeding the leaves into her mouth.
"Really," I said aloud and then began to climb down. I did not think that this girl would be so difficult with me on the first day. As I reached the tree's midpoint, the halter I was carrying on my shoulder began to slip and fell to the ground. The shiny halter rings glistened in the sun and seemed to catch her attention. Although she could not see it, she could probably hear the clinking of them as they hit the ground and assumed that they were shiny. She walked over and picked it up with her front hand and brought it up to her muzzle. I quickly got to the ground and watched as she studied the halter before setting it down and walking away.
I picked it up and walked over to her. She now had her head shoved down into a feeding bucket filled with small bird carcasses and a few occasional mice. "Hey there Zelda," I said and then reached into my pocket to pull out a fat rabbit I had left over from my other Nera's. She lifted her head up and sniffed the air. She started to walk slowly toward me and I set the rabbit on the ground in front of her. As she started to put her head down, I quickly slipped the halter over her head, which she did not seem to mind. Within a few seconds, the rabbit had been completely mauled, all of course except the bones. She sniffed my pockets for extras and I gave her a grin and then my first pet.
"That's a good girl," I said and led her into her new stall. As I closed the door, she kept licking the metal bars that lined the sides of the stalls. I shook my head and then laughed, "You and your shiny things..." Zelda turned to me and then continued to poke at everything that had a metallic feel to it. She came over to the side of the stall where I gave her a few strokes to her flank. Oh boy, was I in for some training with this one. Then I thought to myself, well, at least she will let you touch her. She has not bitten me yet, so that should be good, right???

-First Saddle-
Time had slowly passed, and each day got a little bit easier. Now she could be haltered, walked, lunged, and groomed. Especially loved the grooming part. Today would be the first day I trained her with a saddle, so hopefully she will try and cooperate with me. I pulled her out of her stall and set her next to the tack stand I had recently bought. I pulled out the saddle pad and she stood perfectly still as I set it centered on her back. As I went to grab my saddle, I found Zelda standing there with the saddle pad clutched in her hand sniffing on it and looking like she was about to stuff it into her mouth. I dropped my saddle and grabbed the pad by the skinny side. It took a lot of my energy to fight her, but by the time I was done, she had taken out a bite and was swallowing it with a prolonged gulp.
Saddling the mare was actually quite easy and I smiled at the thought that at least she agreed to let me saddle her. She only had a bit of fuss when I tightened the girth because she would grab at the buckles on the girth to try and undo them as well as receive the buckles. Progress is better then nothing, and at least she acted fine with it on.

-First Ride-
Today was the part when things would get interesting. Riding this gal was the one thing I dreaded. She was kinda sneaky with the other things I have done, but as playful as she was, it could be dangerous. As soon as I had her saddled, I took her into a well enclosed arena and then mounted her. She stood stiff legged and did not want to move while I was on her back. I gave her a small tap with my crop and then she leaped forward in a bucking fit. I was thrown from my saddle and saw her head staring over me. I sighed and then decided to try again. I remounted and then asked her kindly again and this time was beautiful! She was so smooth, but extremely fast! Wow what a lovely mare I thought to myself. Thus, our first ride was conquered and many more to come
