What it means to them, OR How they got it: They got it from a pinecone tree they rammed into by accident, they kept the pinecone that fell onto their head. They only kept it because their loved one LOVES pinecones, and the smell of them too!

Name:
Fravardin
(Ardin)

Name Meaning:
"Traditionally pine cones have been associated with spiritual enlightenment. To Ancient Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks and Christians, pine cones have represented the link between the physical and spiritual world which is believed to be located within a being's brain." (Cassaro, 2010)

Fravardin is a Persian name which is derived from the word fravashi, meaning 'guardian spirit'.

What it means to them, OR How they got it:
Ever since he was born, Fravardin, or Ardin as he prefers, had a strong protective streak in him. Such a claim was proven after his birth when, to him, a stranger appeared into the makeshift nursery. Fravardin moved from the comfort and safety of his mother to position himself between the two adults, as if he were defending his mother. He later came to the understanding that the 'intruder' was his father. His parents agreed on the name after that and bestowed him a pine cone to symbolise what his name meant so he would never forget.

Gender OR Pronouns:
Male

What it means to them, OR How they got it:
She was born on the night of a full moon on a mountain top, it was foggy at the base of the mountain but crystal clear on the peak, That night there was a lunar rainbow, Aurora Borialis and a small medior shower. It was said the lights seemed to dance above her head and the moonlit hit her, And that at the end of the lunar rainbow lay the newly born star catcher. So that's how her name came to be. As for her pinecone she was born next to a pine forest and she happen to bring a pinecone with her as she Was carried home.

Re: Star Catcher #2 Won by: Mother of Dragons

Postby ServerNurse » Tue Aug 04, 2015 3:42 am

Alright. so. this time around I've decided that Mother of Dragons is the winner. I'll do my best on all my contests to explain a winner. so.

@the pink girlfriend: Although i was fond to see an Agender star catcher, it was a naming contest, and i would have liked to have seen more about the name, and how they got it rather than the pinecone.

@Lilelith: I really would have liked to see your finished forum ;w;

@Mother of Dragons: I loved the uniqueness behind the name as well as the nickname, and the story for the explanation was so cute ;w;and how you tied the pinecone into it as well to symbolize the meaning behind his name, and brought his personality into a reason behind it. congrats

@Kaia*Scarlet: All in all, it was between you and Mother of Dragons. I also enjoyed the name and story behind it, though with the lore behind the Star catchers, being the ones who collect the stardust to create the northern lights, it was a bit hard to really get much into it. great story all the same. just know it was a close tie.

Thank you everyone for entering. expect some more up soon, and if you want to know about the species and lore and things, check the front page! Congrats to Mother of Dragons and good luck to everyone else entering in others!
