I approached Akrain for the first time today. He snarled before swimming off when I approached the tank, so I decided to try a new approach. I began setting a few treats into the water one at a time. After what felt like hours of waiting, he approached them and gobbled them up. With caution, he slowly approached me before sniffing my hand for more treats. After giving him some more, I went to the truck and backed it up until the tank on the back matched with the opening of the larger tank. I placed some more treats in the new tank and opened the barrier. Almost instantly, Akrain bolted into the new tank and gobbled up the treats as I closed the barrier.

The drive home was smooth and steady thanks to the route I took. Once we arrived home, I released him into his new enclosure. He seemed hesitant at first, but began to enjoy the tall plants that eliminated the appearance of an open space. He rushed into the plants almost instantly, the only sign of his location being the swaying of the plants. I stayed by the tank until it was obvious that he was comfortable enough to not hurt himself and be able to fall asleep, and went to bed myself.

Awkrain seemed much more adjusted in the morning! When I walked around the tank to get to his food, he actually followed! Sure he growled every time I looked at him, but I was thrilled just seeing him beginning to take interests in things. He ate rapidly before dashing back into the foliage, peering at me in what seemed to be a curious manner. I decided to teach him some tricks, and spent a vast majority of the day setting up hoops and balls. I decided to observe him to make sure that he won't be startled by anything.

At first, he seemed to dislike the hoops. He often jumped from the water and bit one before shaking his head violently until he lost interest and dove back down. As for the balls, he seemed to adore them. A little nudge with his nose turned into a full out jump that sent one flying into the air before he whacked it with his tail. He eventually developed a game where he would try to smack one at or though a hoop, making a cheerful sound once his goal was accomplished.

As night came, I put away the hoops and all the balls before giving him his dinner. He seemed a bit upset at the absence of the balls, but eventually didn't seem to care. Tomorrow, I will introduce him safely to Seiyva. Hopefully they will get along...

Awkrain watched me intently as I set everything up. Seiyva wouldn't enter the tank, but there would be a strong barrier between them, given his hostile nature. The instant that Awkrain spotted Seiyva, he snarled and rushed at her, turning away just before hitting the glass. He circled about for a while, watching her and snarling on occasions. Seiyva watched him in silence, her head tilting to the side on occasions when he came closer. Then, something rather odd happened.

Within an instant, Awkrain slowed his rapid pace and his face returned to its relaxed position. He approached the glass and pressed his nose against it before calmly swimming off. Seiyva seemed to want to go into the tank, but I knew better than to risk a fight. After a few more hours of watching them swim about and occasional approach each other, I decided it was time for Seiyva to go back to her own tank and for Awkrain to get some rest.
