The time has come, and she knows. I just finished riding Ein around the property, and when we came back, she was already tacked up waiting for me. Dismounting, and handing him off to a stable hand, I walk forward and tilt my head, and flip the coin into the air. She stomped her right foot, calling heads, it landed as tails and I frowned, tempted to not ride her today. Shrugging, I walked over and mounted into the saddle. Her body twitched at the weight, but she was ready. Nodding my head, I whistled for her to start walking.
I trained Feuer differently from the rest because she picked things up easier and loved the game of figuring it out. Everything can be commanded by a certain whistle, a certain tap, or a simple voice command. I used to show off how smart she while lunging her, but now it's the real test. We enter the autumn forest, and start off at a simple trot, so far so good. As we head in further, her ears prick up little by little, and her body becomes more tense. A chilly breeze sweeps by us, and I look up to see a giant storm cloud headed our way. With no time to reach the barn, I urge her forward, but she stops.
Minutes pass, and as the storm approaches, I notice something was off, it was white... Snow? I laugh as it begins to fall on us, but she didn't like it at all. Rearing up, she nocked me out of the saddle into (thankfully) a pile of leaves, leaving me unhurt. After she settles down, I remount, and we quickly make it back home, in the snow.
