Gemma wasn't normally worried about being an underground Tiny Horse, but lately, she'd been feeling the need to see more of the world. She heard tales of the bright sky and the green grass and her curiosity was piqued. She wanted to go and see this bright new world, but she needed to pluck up the courage to leave her underground home. After a few more days of hearing stories from the other gemstone horses who had left the cave, she decided this was the day she was going to do it. She crept slowly up to the entrance to the cave and peeked her head around the corner...it was so bright she immediately had to close her eyes again and ducked back around into the darkness. She waited a while, just until her eyes could adjust to the brighter light, and then she loved forward again, taking her first slow steps into the bright new world outside. The colours were so bright, and everything glowed with light. There was a small pond with beautiful blue water rippling in waves each time the breeze blew. Gemma stepped fully into the sunlight and stopped dead in her tracks! As the sunlight hit her body, it splintered off into a hundred beams of pure red light, going in all directions, it was like a beautiful red light show. The beams of red light bounced off everything they came into contact with and Gemma danced around, making the light dance with her. She loved the comfort of her dark cave, but she would spend as much time in the light as she could from now on.
