Short Personality: Gruff, stubborn, and with an emotional barrier as tough as his hide. He has good morals and intentions, but once he has made up his mind on a decision, it's nearly impossible to change his mind. However, under that thick coat of armor, occasional glimpses of a gentle giant can show through.
My favorite gemstone is...: While searching for interesting rare gemstones, I think my favorite one is Benitoite. It's color is said to be like deep neon blue chalk, and it can only been found near the top of the San Benito River in San Benito County, California. It's so rare that scientists still don't know much about it's occurrence or composition.

Short Personality: Quake is a rather clever boy who enjoys learning new tricks and helping his humans with their work. He also enjoys teasing other dinos, although not the meat-eaters. He often thinks about how he would go about outsmarting a predator but he is too afraid to actually put any of his plans to the test.
My favorite gemstone is...: I don't know if it is my favorite gemstone since there are still many that I don't know about, but while I was looking them up I found a picture of some Larimar and I think it is very pretty. It is a type of Pectolite and although Pectolite is fairly common this blue variety is only found in the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.

Short Personality:
Bolloven is a gentle giant; he is a rather laid-back and lazy dinosaur with a care-free and optimistic attitude towards life. He loves spending time with baby animals and spends most of his days basking in the sun happily watching baby animals play around him; in fact the only time he would get angry is if he sees anyone trying to hurt a little animal. Those who know him would describe him as a helpful and friendly guy, always eager to comfort others and be their rock in their hard times.

My favorite gemstone is...:
My favorite stone is the American Contra Luz Opal. It's intricate patterns remind of a beautiful nebula and far-away galaxies in space. Also, I feel if you look too long into the gemstone, you can glimpse the whole universe in it - its like the stone has captured a part of space and locked it inside it.

Short Personality: He's hardly ever serious, and has the energy of the youngest dinos. Although childish and playful he may be, he's still stubborn and set in his ways. He's passive-aggresive-however, and seems to prefer lurking around the shallow waters rather than basking in the sun. He does like to see the sun rise, but however beautiful it may be, he still can't hardly stand it's heat.
My favorite gemstone is...: Emerald. But since you said rare, Black Opal is very pretty.

Short Personality: Despite being small, somewhat weak, and a little (a lot) bit timid, Kiva has the heart of a protector. She has a need to help and care for everyone, whether they be on good terms with her or not, and tends to forget about the fact that she needs (and deserves) to be taken care of too. Thankfully, Kiva's good nature and bright personality make her hard to forget; the rest of the herd is always keeping an eye out for their little sun.
My favorite gemstone is...: garnet. It's not particularly interesting or rare, but it's by far my favorite. (I tried to look up some stones for this, but kept coming back to garnet.) When frequenting the local natural history museum as a child with my grandparents, I remember adoring the room with all of the stones and metals. The case containing the red gemstones was the one I was always fixated on the longest. For whatever reason, the garnets were my favorites. (I actually used to wish that I had been born in January instead of September. For this reason, receiving things with my birthstone in them for my birthday tended to be slightly disappointing.) I've remained attracted to the dark, red-orange stones, and for almost two years now have worn a ring with three garnets in it every day. It's comforting and familiar; the rare days when I forget to wear my ring are just never as good as the days when it's with me.
