Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.
Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.
Variety: Medium Tail, Half-Moon / Eye Dots facial markings. Custom mane/bangs, Heterochromia.
Genetics Code:
9 / 14 - 19

So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path

Notes for myself --
Stubborn, rebellious, persuasive, loves power.
Fast runner, not the best jumper
Loves rain / thunder
Has trouble staying camouflaged and is often picked from a clan by predators
Severe fear of hail
Never knew her mother, raised by a clan alpha (secretly her father) who she idolizes
Will post the first trial below a bit later on ~

Aello could be described as a little spitfire.
She's extremely rebellious and disobedient
and more often than not causes trouble for
authority figures. She's extremely determined
and will never give up on something that she believes
in. Aello loves rain, thunder and snow, but hates
warm and hot weather, preferring the cold.
She's terrified of hail, losing her authority,
losing a close friend or family member and
being helpless to fend off an attack.

Aello was raised in a small clan. Her mother died
shortly after Aello was born. Aello's father, the clan's
alpha, raised her, although Aello has yet
to discover that he is her biological father.
Aello grew up with several young DVFs, her closest
friend being Summer.
The two DVFs became best friends and often spent
their time play fighting and exploring
together. Aello was unknowingly being raised
to run the clan one day, but was separated
from the clan before she was installed as leader.

The soft sound of rain, dripping gently against the canopy of trees and coating the grass and flowers in wet droplets, awoke Aello. Shaking grog out of her eyes, Aello pulled herself to her feet, the young Delta Velorum Fox shaking out her thick coat. Blowing her bangs to the side, she noticed that the rest of her clan was already moving. What little there was to 'pack', such as small herbs and roots that could be carried and beads and halters that could be slipped into fur, was being assembled and put in their rightful places. All members of the clan were awaiting impatiently for the clan alpha, Tara, a massive and intimidating brute, to give the signal that it was time to leave. Aello, never one to wait, slipped in between other foxes and made her way towards Tara, who stood proudly at the front of the pack, barking orders at his second in command. Foxes who didn't know Tara as well would think he was calm, but Aello know him better, picking up on the way his ears and whiskers twitched and how he was shifting his weight from side to side. "Nervous?" Aello had slipped beside Tara and was whispering quietly in his ear. The two were close, Tara having raised Aello since she was a pup, and the duo felt quite comfortable around one another. Tara shrugged, his tail twitching as though he was swatting away a fly. "Go say your goodbyes, Aello. Make it quick," The alpha shot Aello a pointed look before disappearing into the swarm of foxes, smiling and nodding at nervous clan members and answering questions in his rough voice.
Aello hadn't needed any other encouragement to leave the clan's chaos, easily breaking into a calm and even stride as she made her way into the small forest nearby the clan's main meadow. Slipping under the underbrush and clearing fallen logs with minimal struggle, Aello was quickly able to find the miniature clearing that she called her home. The clearing consisted of a large, smooth rock that warmed up in the afternoon and proved an optimal spot for sunbathing, a tiny trickle of a stream that contained minnows and trout, and a berry bush. Sighing, Aello lay down elegantly on the rock, soft raindrops soaking her fur as she stretched out her neck and grasped some small red berries between her teeth. Biting down, Aello closed her eyes, trying desperately to memorize the sweet, familiar taste of the berries. Too many hours had been spent in this small clearing, chewing on small fish in the fall and winter, snacking on the succulent berries in the spring and summer. Very few other foxes knew about the clearing, and Aello tended to spend more time with the minnows in the stream than she did with her fellow clan members. Rolling a rock over idly with her paw, Aello gazed down sadly at the insects, small creatures that resembled ants, that had become her neighbors in the clearing. All in all, Aello was guessing she would miss this clearing the most. Rolling onto her side, Aello sighed and allowed the cool raindrops to roll down her coat as she drifted off into daydreams.
"Moving time! Let's go! Stay with a buddy!" Loud shouts, masculine and stiff, sounded from the clan's main clearing. "Tara," Aello thought to herself as she stood, looking over her shoulder one final time as she slipped into the underbrush and towards the clan. In all honesty, Aello had been one of the first clan members to learn about the move due to her closeness with Tara. She'd envisioned moving day many, many times before, had imagined what it would feel like, but couldn't have been more far off. Instead of feeling empty, Aello just felt numb. She'd never left home before, other than the sporadic adventure over the ridge, and had no idea what she should be feeling.
Slipping easily through the clan, which parted in front her as though the vixen had some sort of plague, Aello made her way to the front of the clan. Her strides were long and even, something like a canter that slowed to a trot as she pulled even with the alpha. Others would offer submissive gestures to Tara, even ensure that they allowed him to remain in front at all costs, but not Aello. A combination of her rebellious side and her closeness with the alpha allowed her freedom to ignore typical protocol and manners. Wordlessly, the two foxes led the pack, their eyes focused on the horizon ahead, their shoulders brushing with each stride.

The effort required simply to move one paw in front of the other, again and again, was growing. Water pooled around Aello's paws, even her rebellious and seemingly never ending flow of energy curbed for the time being. The entire clan was exhausted, beaten and worn like a toy played with year after year and then cast aside. Tara's infectious courageousness had died off in the face of exhaustion, tired expressions and exasperated sighs radiating from the alpha like a sun. The foxes gravitated around Tala, and his usual encouragement was gone. The clan had nothing left. They had been traveling for countless days, and the rains never seemed to stop. Although Aello loved rain, even she was sick of it. The beginning of the journey had flown by, with melancholy looks cast backwards and eager squeals from young pups. As time progressed, however, heads began to hang and matted fur began to fall fromo frames like tassles on a rarely used bridle.
The floods had come with little warning. It had been late at night, Aello and Tara the only ones awake. The clan was lying asleep out in the open with the duo keeping watch when water had begun gushing into the small clearing. It had only been a foot or so of water, but it would have been enough to drown a small pup or a sleeping elder. Barking and yipping frantically, Aello and Tara had awoken the majority of the clan, running away from the floods, setting themselves back several days in their journey. A total of three foxes had perished or been left behind. Tara's personality had changed as he'd become harsh and cold, leaving behind any fox that was struggling to keep up. They were fighting for survival, which was clear by the way cool, dark water pooled around their paws as the clan trudged forwards. The rain continued beating down as Tara's paranoia grew and Aello's exhaustion became apparent in the way she refused to speak up against Tara when he left a young pup behind. Many foxes had lost faith that they would make it through, including Aello.
"I don't even know who we are anymore.... I don't even know who I am," Aello thought as she glanced at her reflection, eyes narrowed against the sunlight. Aello had left the clan during early dusk, claiming she needed a break and would return by sundown. Based on the rate at which the sun was setting on the horizon, the second statement had been a lie. Aello had let her paws carry her to a small river, one that had yet to overflow. The rain had stopped temporarily, the sky illuminated in vibrant pinks and purples as the sun set. Aello's eyes had long since lost their glow, her fur matted and her ribs showing. Dirt caked her paws and lower legs, and her once glossy sheen had been lost. The river in front of her was crisp and clear, so the young fox leaned forwards and lapped up several drops before falling headfirst into the river. Droplets of water sprayed upwards as Aello yelped in surprise, laughing once her paws found soft footing in the sand. Ducking under the water, Aello allowed the soft liquid to swirl around her, watching as the dirt and mud from her coat floated away. Droplets began falling from the sky, increasing in intensity until it was a downpour, battering the water in harsh, massive raindrops. The river's current began to pick up, and momentary panic set in. Aello had drifted far from the riverbank and was getting disoriented. Paddling desperately, Aello began to cry for help, her heart pounding in between her ribs. A riptide pulled her further away from the bank, dunking her under for several moments. Water filled her nose and mouth, but Aello wasn't truly afraid until she saw Tara emerge from the underbrush on the riverbank, pulled to the river by her cries for help. The alpha bowed, his head tucked between his lengthened front paws, a long, wolf-like howl escaping his mouth. The ritual, one performed by the clan at funerals and burials, sent terror and realization through every part of Aello's body. Shaking with fear, Aello watched in horror as Tara disappeared, replaced by bubbles and more water.
After what seemed like hours of barely keeping her head above water, Aello's paws hit something firm. Opening her eyes, she scrabbled onto a small rock and forced herself to remain standing long enough to expel gallons of water from her chest. Eyes burning with river silt, Aello collapsed on the rock that jutted above the rapids, not knowing whether she would wake again as she descended into murky darkness.

By the time morning pulled the sullen vixen from her sleep, every part of her tired body ached. Cuts, caused by the sharp river rocks Aello had been battered against, matted her fur. Her throat burned with minerals, her eyes sore from the exposure. The vixen's paws were cut and bruised from the desperate scraping along the riverbank, her soul beaten and tired. "Ironic," Aello thought as she stood, slowly and painstakingly, that such a life giving substance such as water would be the thing to tear me from my old life. With a very weak smile at her own thought, the vixen forced herself to her paws, lifting her head and glancing upon the horizon. The sun was just rising, illuminating the sky in vivid pinks, yellows and blues. The real beacon of hope for the female, however, were the mountains. Her clan was headed for the same mountains. If she could find the strength to make it there, she just might be able to find her home. Her clan.
Cold, harsh nights began to bleed into sunny, hot days. Sand and dust ripped at her eyes, water beat her fur. The vixen was exhausted, was giving up. She had traveled towards the mountains day in and day out, rarely stopping to rest or to eat. Her tongue was dry, her pawpads cracking. The monsoon-like storms had slowed, only pelting the vixen during the nights. Aello had learned to travel with her head down and eyes closed. The less hope she showed outwardly, Aello hypothesized, the less hope she had to lose.
Lightning cracked across the sky, thunder shaking the ground. Looking up, Aello allowed a small smile to fill her face. She was at the base of the mountains. As she began to climb, the slope pulled at her muscles, slowing her pace, but not stopping a smile from lighting up her expression. It took her days to reach the top. Once there, however, Aello was sorely dissapointed. Her family, her clan, wasn't there waiting for her as she'd envisioned so many times during the journey. The sun scorched down on her back, and Aello allowed herself to fall to the ground in despair. All she'd done was for naught.
Aello slept in fits of nightmares for two days due to the severe dehydration and exhaustion. When she finally awoke, however, a vibrant sunset awaited her. The sky was painted in beautiful colors, lending hope to the young vixen. For the first time in almost a month, Aello allowed her self to smile truthfully and meaningfully. She allowed herself to hope, to believe in a better future.
