I have just received word that my guardian is ready to be adopted. I can't wait. I have been eagerly awaiting her arrival at my home. I even had everything all ready for her a week ago!
I tried looking for a trainer and decided I didn't want anyone but me to be around her, at least at first, so I'll handle rehabilitating her just to be safe. She's got a nice little section of the yard fenced in on the opposite side of the property as my stables with a cozy little home that's nice and warm.
I've heard she's got a disability, but I don't mind. She won't be my first babe who needs special adaptations.
I actually think she and Yu will get along nicely. Maybe my little girl will be the first one she meets, when she's ready.
Signing off!

Today marks the first day of Jayfeather's care and keeping in my possession.
My dear Fea is deaf, though, so I'll have to figure out a different training method. Perhaps sign language will be an effective training method. She seems quite intelligent, so I have no doubt she will pick up on it easily. For now, though, I'll have to work carefully. She seemed slightly afraid of me and the workers, as well as a few other animals in the kennel.

After letting Fea get settled yesterday and starting light training, I think I have made some slight progress. This evening, while I was bringing her a warm dinner to ward off the cool temperatures, she actually approached the fence without prompting. She seems to trust me more now, knowing I will keep her warm and fed. I wonder what she had been through before the rescuers found her in the city.
Signing off for a bit more training.
