First Touch wrote:I had just gotten down taking care of the neravontiis in the stables, and I walk out to the paddock, to check on the rest. I wonder around to find Poker to be sure she is fine as for she's pregnant. I call her name, and she slowly walks over. I stood shocked, seeing she did not have her fat belly, then followed a green foal with stripes. He picked up the tail of his father.
I run over to poker, and hugged her. "Did everything go okay for you young lady"?
I move over to the foal quickly and he was the sweetest little baby though he never met a human till now.
I stood out in the fields with Poker and the foal for awhile to enjoy the day. I ran around playing with the new foal. We played
chase for a long time, and till I was the first one to get tired out. I reach over and stoke the foal. "Hmmm you need a name little one".. "How about Marvin"?
First Saddle wrote:Marvin has been through allot of training, and today was even more training. Today he was going to learn about the saddle and bridle. I had already set the tack out in the round pen, and I've gone to look for him in the paddock. He was grazing by his mother, and Lola. I walked over to greet the crowd as I slipped a halter onto Marvin. I move Marvin from his Family, and brought him to the round pen.
I Walked him around the saddle and let him sniff it. I then walked him to the fence and tied him before tempting to put a saddle on him. I grab the saddle and the saddle pad. I slip the saddle onto the ground when I reached Marvin, and tossed the saddle pad onto his back and reached for the saddle. I then tossed it on, and hurried to fasten then saddle to the young stallion. I walk away to grab the bridle, slipping the bridle on went smooth just like it were to saddle him up. I untied him and lunged him around the pen for a few minutes to let him adjust to the saddle, and to warm him up.
First Ride wrote:I had let Marvin get used to the saddle. I turned and walked to the edge of the round pen, and let him follow me. I move to his side, and place a foot in the stirrup, and lifted myself into the saddle. "Well here goes nothing" I signaled him to a walk, and things were fine for a moment and he started to get a little bit uncomfortable. I tighten the reins a little and start circling him as he started to panic a little, then let him trot. It took some time, but he finally got used to the weight, and feel of me on his back. After about 10 minutes of riding I moved him towards the gate, and unlatched it, to bring him on a real ride. We entered the paddock, and had a joyride, and things were well. He did get a little antsy when his siblings approached, so I had to shoo them away.
Marvin and I had been running around the paddock for an hour, and he was starting to get slow so I dismounted and lead him to the gate of the paddock. I unsaddled him and turned him lose in the paddock with an award of a chicken. He pranced off as the rest were about to climb all over me for a treat, so I hurried out of the paddock with the tack.
