Poem: Do you remember those times?
Sitting under that tree?
Just enjoying each others company.
Laughing and smiling
Like any happy couple should.
I surprised you getting on one knee
You gasped and clasped hands over your lips.
I proposed and asked you to marry me
You let out a soft sob and nodded vigorously.
That day was the happiest moment of ours lives
Only just one of many days.
I can recall them all
Full of our happy and smiling faces.
I could tell you so many stories
Maybe that will jog your memories.
Today you woke up
After getting into that accident.
You had been out for three days
The doctors said you would forget.
I sat by your bedside
Waiting for your eyes to open.
Hoping beyond hope
That you would still remember.
It hurt when you asked where you were
Or who I was and what had happened.
Biting back the pain
I smiled and calmly told you.
I made a promise
To help you remember.
No matter what it takes
We will have those moments again.
