Sorry for the late reply, but I've decided to name this little girl Aya. After the Uglies series.
Zane, Tally and Shay all appear in the first three books, and Extras is a novel about Aya's experience. She looks up to the other 3 a lot, so I thought this would be fitting.

First Saddle
Crunch, crunch, crunch.
A loud chewing noise woke me from my sleep. Looking around, nothing seems out of the ordinary, except... it's already 10:31am! Scrambling off the bed, I quickly threw on my riding gear and headed to the stables.
Today is Aya's first birthday, I plan to celebrate by introducing her to her first saddle. Heading into my large stable, I'm greeted by an eager Aya, bouncing up and down, ready to play. Gently patting her nose, I stepped around Aya to my cabinet, where I store Aya and Shay's riding gear. After digging through a ton of Shay's gear, I couldn't seem to find Aya's bridle. Feeling annoyed at myself for misplacing it, I turned back, only to find Aya, holding her new gear, with pieces missing, and what looks like teeth marks on her bridle.

"Aya!" Not believing my eyes, I snatched the bridle out of Aya's mouth. Giving her a disappointed look, I scolded. "Bad girl." I tapped her on the nose, letting her know I was mad, before trying to come up with a new solution. It is a funny situation, but I couldn't let Aya know that, or she will continue to do it. Deciding that Shay's bridle will do for now, I lead Aya out into the meadow. Holding out Aya's new saddle, I allow her to sniff it first. After she is familiar with it, and she is sure it doesn't hurt her, I use the saddle to touch Aya's nose, then head, then shoulders, and finally settles it on her back. Leaving it there for a few minutes whiles I bribe her with some hay. After a while, I tighten the straps gently. Aya seems to have no trouble with the saddle and bridle (besides that she likes to eat it) and she soon learns to stand still whiles I fasten her straps.

First Ride
"Aya!" I grumbled at my young Neravontii Aya, who had playfully snatched away her bridle. "No, no no. Don't eat that. Hey! No, Aya!"
Today is the day I planned to ride Aya for the first time. After six months of training with the saddle, I felt that Aya was ready for her final training. However, the day has just started, and nothing is going to plan. Making a feeble attempt to steal back the bridle, I decided to give up. I would never catch Aya, especially when she is in this playful mode.

I approached Aya calmly, and showed her some cookies. Sure enough, that got her attention real fast, and she soon begun to calm down. After a few cookie treats, I begun to do my daily routine, which is putting the saddle and tightening the straps on her belly. Once finished, I used the lead rope to walk her around a few times, before walking towards a small stool. First, I let Aya familiarise herself with the miniature chair, because standing onto it. I held her still as I put my arm on her back to apply pressure. Every 2 minutes, I would remove my arm and feed Aya a cookie. After a few repeated attempts, Aya seemed to happily comply and stand still, without my command. Then, I gently climb onto her back as her snorted in surprise. In a soothing voice, I begun to calm her whiles staying in a laying down position on her back. After she settled down, I moved again. This time, Aya seemed to find this amusing and begun nipping at my heels, as if to say "hurry up!". Finally, I settled onto Aya's back and patted her neck. She stood proud as I showered her with rewards and affection, as if she understood what she has just accomplished. Satisfied, I bought both of us back into the stables and put Aya to rest.
