I'ma call him Douglas
Now I got to do some training O_O
First touch wrote: I walked into my stables to check up on ghost... There was a surprise in her stall as I walked up. There stumbled a newly born foal,
that had appeared just born, as for he was still struggling to take his first stand. I looked over at Ghost... Things didn't seem right so I hurried in the examine her. It was pretty warm for morning and she must have over worked herself giving birth. I tied ghost outside the stall. I hurried to get a bucket of cool water, and a brush. I gave Ghost a cool brush down, as for Ghost usually can't handle the heat to well. "Poor Ghost, at least you had a very lovely colt". I finished brushing her and let her back into the stall with her foal, and ran to grab a couple of fans, and set them near her stall.
I called a Vet to come check up on Ghost to be sure she will be fine, and stayed with Ghost and her foal. I finally was able to introduce
myself to the lovely colt. I sat to admire the colt, and he just reminded me of trees, "What do you say Ghost? Does Douglas suit him well"? She slowly turned her head and looked at me then moved slowly towards her foal. She nuzzled him towards her belly and then started to eat the hay. Suddenly after the few seconds she nodded her head roughly and gave a loud and clear knicker.
I knelt closer to the foal and stroked him as he nursed off his mother. He moved his tailed around a little excited, and slapped me
across the face, I assume by mistake.
First Saddle wrote:My dear Douglas has grown real fast, and it was time I get him used to a saddle and perhaps ride him if
he looks to be ready when I do saddle him up. I went into the tack room and grabbed a saddle and bridle just for Doug. I carried the tack outside and set it in the round pen on a bench int he center. I picked up the bridle to try a little something new.
I hurried to the paddock with a sack of a few hens, and tossed it into the paddock watching some of them fight and wait in hopes that one will share. I called over Doug, and handed him a carrot. I then slipped on the bridle because he was already used to a halter. He was shocked at something hard and cold in his mouth but he followed as I lead him out of the paddock and to the round pen.
When we entered the round pen, I tossed the reins around his neck and lunged him. I turned around to sit on the saddle.
He curiously walked over, and checked it out. I then stood int he stirrups and he moved back curiously.
I dismounted the saddle, and moved the saddle to grab the saddle pad. I moved towards him and set it on his back and turned to grab the saddle, he glared and decided to be make things a little challenging. Guess it's time to play a little game of, who wins.
I were able to trick him and roped up a leg and tossed the rope over his back and tied it to the other end tied to his leg.
"So whose boss now, I win buddy sorry." I walk over to grab the saddle. Doug then rears up and turns to knock me over with his tail. I fall on top of the saddle, just after I had picked it up. I stand up, and brushed off all the dust that laid on my pants, and picked up the saddle. I set the saddle back onto the bench, grabbed the reins from Doug's neck and tied him up to the fence. I moved his saddle pad back into place, and went for the saddle.
I moved towards the stallion with the saddle and swung it onto his back before he could move. I actually had the chance to hurry and tighten his saddle before he decided to knock me over with his tail again. I got up and was to be sure that saddle was actually tightened and elbowed him on the chest just in case he was holding extra air.
I rushed to tighten then untied the rope from his leg, and untied him from the fence and tossed the reins over his neck
once again.
First Ride wrote:I lunged him around the pen a little before mounting him. He this time decided to be more respectful than competitive.
I turned around and let him follow me as I walked to the bench which I moved to the side a bit, so I can stand in the center.
I took a step on it and waited for his arrival. I moved him close tugging at the saddle. I moved my foot into one of the stirrups.
I moved in towards the saddle, and swung my leg over to the other side. I made a clicking sound and made him gallop.
He seemed to do okay for 20 seconds then he started to jump around. It took about half a minute and I fell.
I got up and then made him gallop around the pen for 5 minutes. I turned around and walked to the bench as I did before.
He knew what to expect and gave me a a nasty expression. I glared at him and he lowered his head and walked over,
and moved towards me without me having to move him closer. I mounted and handed him a carrot.
I slipped my foot into the stirrup, and swung my leg over. As I sat I held the reins tight and pulled back a little.
He stepped back then I made him turn in a few circles and made him side pass. I did these to keep him distracted from wanting to buck me off again. I loosen the reins and let him trot forward. He started to buck and rear so I shouted at him some.
"aye, Nooo. woah cut it out NOww" I then fell off with a big rear.
I gave him a glare, and lunged him for about 10 minutes and tried riding again.
After about half an hour I was finally riding him and he was fully trained, it was quite the ride with this guy, today was a day he
wanted nothing but to be competitive with me. This isn't normal although it's not normal that I just try and mount him.
