It was a foggy morning, as I took Roshan out for a ride.
I was headed to check up on Dia and her two foals. Dia's owner had told me it's time to
Pick up my foal. Roshan and Dia paired up, and my foal was ready to be separated and trained.
I signaled Roshan to a canter. Although it was foggy and cold we both couldn't wait to take home him daughter.

We arrived at the barn. Dia and her owner were waiting by the front with a white grown filly.
I jumped off Roshan and tied him up. I walked over to greet the grown filly. i held out a carrot to the filly.
It began to mist a little as Dia's owner and I stood chatting. It looked at the mare as I reached into my backpack
To pull out a new halter specially for the filly. It was a light pink colored halter with small gems on the sides on top band that goes over the forehead, and a wholly soft piece for the nose. "Ah, this should keep you a little warm", as I reach in my bag to pull out a blanket. I held out an apple and stroked the filly, "why don't I call you misty, it's foggy, cold, and misty, and why not." I tossed the blanket over the mare carefully, and buckled it. I then out my halter on her, as I removed my friends.

"Alright Misty let's take you to your new home" I untied Roshan, and mounted him heading back home with my new filly.

First Saddle wrote:First Saddle
It's been awhile that I have have Misty, training her, and actually getting ahead on slowly getting her used to the idea of a saddle and weight on her back and some fun cool tricks. The best is having her bow to my friends after her follow me without a lead, halter, rope or anything. It was all based on trust. All my friends loved her and wondered when I was going to actually put a saddle on her a ride her. I told them she's getting there and might be less of a challenge due to a head start.

I ran to the paddock with the cute halter of Misty's. I even ordered a name tag with her name on it and brought it to a shop. A. Couple of many gems were removed so it could be placed on the left side of her halter. There's still 1 gem on either side of the name tag. It was good plated, and her name imprinted. I call out Misty's name, and the next second there were a huge cloud of dust that shot at me. Seems Misty is in her usual good spirited mood, and was over quickly. After the cloud gone away, she was nuzzling dust off her self. She looked at me and snorted, and pranced closer.

I slipped her halter on, and lead her out of the paddock. I tied her outside the stables, and ran in to grab the grooming kit. She is a neat fellow, so it's best to make her happy before introducing something new.
After giving her a good groom down I ran back into to put away the kit, and grab her saddle and bridle.

Her saddle is a light pink, with a white bridle and blanket. The reins and clothe for the tail were a light pink as well. I set them down on the post she was tied at so she could check them out. She rose her head quickly, snorted and swished her tail. I look away for a mount and turn around to see her lifting up the griddle from the saddle with her tail. I reached out to grab it from her, but she only lifted her tail higher up. I tempted to climb onto her back to get it but she never even been ridden. So I ignored that for now and just focused on putting the saddle on her back.

The saddle was no issue, since she was used to being trained. So it was just as if another day of training.
After getting her saddle on she finally lost interest in playing with her bridle. I grab it from her and hand her a carrot.

I slowly slipped the bridle on without the bit. I removed her halter and put it to the side, then pick up the bit. I clipped it to one side, and forced it into her mouth gently. I then clipped it to the other side, stepped back to admire Misty all saddled up. I then grab the reins and lead her to the round pen to play a little bit to get her used to the tack.

First Ride wrote:First Ride
After about half an hour of playing games and teaching her the signals of riding, I signaled her to lay on the ground. I then lifted my leg over and out it in the stirrup on the other side, and signaled her to a stand. I hurried to place my other leg in the empty stirrup to be sure there were no empty stirrup, as for this could be one heck of a bumpy ride.

A moment after I had only enough time to have feet in the stirrups, and have the reins fully collected, I had to hurry to grab the saddle with one hand. As soon as I found the perfect moment I yanked on the rings to stop the mare from bucking and kicking. She finally settled after about half a minute and started slow. I signaled her to a walk, and trot many times. I even signaled her to make few U-turns.

It took about half an hour to be sure she was calm, and okay with the ride. I then decided to start teaching her plenty more tricks. I signaled her to a trot and tied the reins to the saddle at a length to force her to hold her head high. I pull my feet out of my stirrups, and lean back to place my feet in front of me. I sat like that for a few rounds around the round pen. I hurried as I caught proper balance to stand up on her saddle as she still trotted.

After half an hour of doing tricks, I dismounted, and brought her to the outside of the stable to untack her then released her back with the others. Great day, and tons of bond and trust between the two of us.
