First Touch
I searched unblinkingly around my surroundings. The Neravontii training center was so large, and I was excited to search for one of my own. Eventually, I paused to observe the most beautiful Nera I had ever seen. He turned to face me and backed away two steps before sitting down. I breathed in awe of him and slowly lifted my hand to pet his snout. He turned quickly to escape my hand, but with calming words I drew him back towards me. "It's okay." I whispered softly. "It's okay..." Reluctantly, the Nera closed his eyes and allowed me to stroke his nose. I smiled and sighed. The Neravontii extended a human-like hand and held my un-occupied hand. I grinned. And so it was. Me, with my new companion named Heiko.
