chosen name: Lucid
short story about her(400 words or less):
Lucid stared at the world around her. Her dream world. She shut her eyes as she breathed in gently. This was her world, a world no one could take from her. This world was created by her mind, and she visited it in her sleep. But even then, nightmares came to corrupt it now and then...but once a nightmare passed, things were scary for a bit longer before it returned to normal. Before it returned to being peaceful.
Lucid raised a raw to gently touch a white lily floating in the air as her eyes fluttered open. To others, if they visited this world, it would be a mess to them. Lands floating about, mazes forever changing and the ground constantly changing what it is made of. But to Lucid, it was in harmony. It was perfect.
Everything in this world made sense to her. How the creatures who live here adapt to travel to each floating island. How they remember the times the land's reveal hidden caves. It was all in sync.
Lucid grinned to herself as she walked over the marble ground, which was made of wood only seconds ago. A creature then passed her in the air. Imagine a feathery, white whale which has a small white horns around their eyes. She called that creature a 'Progressing Dream'. Due to them moving slowly and being, so dream like. Only during nightmares, these creatures turned into what Lucid called 'Be-fleeting'. Due to how much she wishes for them to leave quickly and how scary they then seem.
Lucid watched the Progressing Dream for a bit longer before turning around and looking at a large, round ball off in the distance. That ball had a large tree growing on it and for some reason, this land never changed. This land always stayed the same, glowing, strange material it was made out of (Lucid has no clue what it is made out of) and no creatures nor herself have ever traveled there. She doesn't no why but when she nears it, her mind distracts it's self and she decides to do something else instead of approaching it. Once she observed the creatures and the same seemed to be for them. A Progressing Dream might head over to the land to rest but then turn around and decided to eat some of the strange-edible clouds.
Lucid doesn't know why this happens but she is sure something is special with that land.
Suddenly the world around her began to become hazy as a dark fog swept over Lucid's vision and eventually led to darkness. Suddenly the darkness left as Lucid was woken up into the real world. Her mind confused for a moment before realizing she had woken up, no longer in her perfect little world. Lucid sighed as she rolled off her bed. But then from the corner of her eye, Lucid thought she saw something watching her. This usually happened upon waking up. Something watched her but when she turned to look at it, it would vanish. And if she attempted to talk to it, it stayed silent and only moved what she assumed to be hands. She wasn't sure.
Lucid sighed as she walked out of her hut, completely ignoring the strange entity this time.
I can't wait to go back to sleep, she then thought as she began her usual day.
