They are all unrelated, but they all came to Artemis around the same time- near the winter solstice, from Alpheus, a river god trying to date her. (a weird guy in her opinion, he should just get the hint that she will never be interested; she's a virgin still and asexual for a reason) He was talking about getting her into the Christmas cheer, even though she only vaguely knows of that Christian holiday. She's not trying to be rude or blunt about holidays, but... she's a sorta recluse, and she rarely leaves the taiga of northern Asia after the Greek empire fell. So... meh. Even so, she's not going to turn down 12 potential children; in her opinion, they'll make great additions to the growing pack.
This litter won't be that big of a deal, since technically, Artemis doesn't know the true depth of their significance. But, she does know that the fact that they were gifted made them special.
Well, it doesn't look like a turtle dove... But his wing markings are mirrored on each side. Guess Alpheus was thinking of something else when he gave this pup to Artemis. Artemis thinks she heard Alpheus saying something about Hermes blessing this child... or something; she kicked him out of her domain before he could finish.
