2.) He had at least one daughter, two grandchildren,a sister and a nephew, Peter Ludlow.
3.) In the novel and video game Dr. Hammond is cold bussinessman only interested in the money the park will bring, and the safety of his expensive animals. While in the movie he is not so much the cold hearted character, and caring about the people and his grandchildren along with the animals.

The hat is the iconic hat that john Hammond wears throughoht the movies, and the cane is made of dinosaur bone and a mosquito fossilized in amber. The mosquito possessed blood of a dinosaur which was successfully cloned, the infamous tyrant lizard king.
