Barn Name: Syndic
Gender: Gelding (1 Breeding)
Age: 6 Years
Breed: 25% Mustang; 25% APH; 50% Appaloosa
Colour: Blue Roan Pintaloosa (Tobiano)
History: Syndic was born with his dear filly twin, and no one knows quite where or exactly when. From here, Syndic's history is hazy. We don't know if he was ever separated from his sister, or if they always stayed with each other. All we know is that they both ended up at Cottonwood together.
Personality: Syndic couldn't care less about anyone besides his sister. He is neutral and calm around most horses, not caring about much and sometimes ignoring them. Typically, he is patient and a laid-back horse. However, he will go from sleep to rabid in seconds if anyone threatens him or his sister. Syndic is extremely protective of his friends and family, especially, of course, his sister. The gelding is dutiful and a problem-solver. He comes from a logical position. Syndic is tough and will not allow himself to be a doormat. The gelding is both a follower and leader at the same time.
Story: Syndic had just made it to Cottonwood with his sister. He had been forced into a pasture three over from his sis. Naturally, seeing as Syndic was protective and loving towards his sibling, the gelding would have none of this. He trotted along the fenceline, eyeing the bay paint that was his sister across the pastures. Finally, he found a subtle dip in the wooden fence. Syndic backed himself up, pushing other horses out of the way with purposeful nudges. Syndic galloped furiously towards the barricade, and then took a flying leap.
The gelding landed smoothly on the other side. Mares were in this pasture alone, but Syndic ignored them. Oncemore, he trotted along the fenceline. He found another slight break and successfully made another jump. The last barrier between the siblings. Syndic watched his sister encourage him, even when the gelding could not find a flaw in the fence to help him jump. He took his chances in his efforts to get into the pasture. Syndic ran as fast as he could, yet leapt sloppily. The gelding hit his leg hard on the wood. He still managed to get over, but was limping badly.
Reunited with his sis, Syndic resisted his pain. The caretakers found the gelding with oozing blood and standing beside his sibling stiffly. They rushed him in for medical assisstance. His leg would heal, but the ranch hands couldn't take a risk of more serious injury. They placed him in his sister's pasture for the rest of his time at Cottonwood, and although Syndic limped for a little bit, he happily spent time with his dear sibling without needing to jump through hoops.
