It was never his choice...

The dark clouds didn't worry anyone. The storm would pass over them, and it don't look very bad anyway.
A sharp wind blew across the sandy shore, and the waves' crash sounded a bit louder than it usually did.
And then the storm hit. Arashi was in the den when he heard the thunder, and he jumped outside, desperately searching for his parents. The wind whipped at him, and sand blew into his eyes. Then the wave hit, and all he could remember was the shock, and the water that pulled him out to sea...

The winds blew him off balance into the waters from the cliffs. He paddled desperately for help. He called and called. But no help arrived for him. The storms were too strong. The sea saw his terror and helped him reach land. He was named after what had separated his parents. The storm. Ever since, he has hung out in the seas. Waiting... Waiting to be reunited with his parents...

"I left them." The arrogant reply from the small kit was a surprise, "I know they probably loved me as much as my sister, but... She inherited mom's genetics. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the preferred child." He lightly sighed as he scratched his face with a paw. He truly believed that his sister was the favorite, and he couldn't put up with being second to her. It seemed to be the right solution to the situation. His eyes were dull now as his homesickness began to set in, "I miss them... I could go back, but it's just not time yet. I'm not ready to face them for running away." His body stiffened as he realized his vulnerability, "An' don't think I'm gonna get sappy on ya because I feel homesick... I just thought ya wanted a little more detail." His eyes were hard again as he hid back behind his mask.

Home Sweet Home:
My "home"... I suppose... I mostly hang out in any nook or cranny I can find. But At the moment my sort of permanent place is this, er, tunnel. See this place has an above ground entrance, but it's got all the signs that say 'keep out' or 'authorized personnel only' and such, so no one really comes in. But there are these string lights all down it which give it kinda a yellowy color, so I can see fine while I'm trying to get down to my little set-up. I even found this old blanket and a couple pillows, so I have a comfy bed to lay on.
