Story:

S P A C ESasha crept out from under the trees and padded back towards the dens, her pace slowing somewhat as the soft earthen forest floor gave way to the hard stone of the red-stone mountain and she passed out into the weak Isket sun. She had been out early that morning, taking a refreshing run in a long loop around the dens before beginning her day as a mentor. Isket knew she needed it, as the task had proved to be more challenging that she had anticipated. While Aponi was willing enough to learn and proved to be a most clever student, she had, on more than one occasion, used the scouting and stalking skills Sasha had taught her to ditch her mentor in the middle of a lesson. That train of thought brought a smile to her face and she chuckled a bit to herself, it simply meant the impetuous pup had taken her lessons to heart, and she couldn't blame her for wanting to test them out.
S P A C ESkirting the main entrance to the den Sasha came to the place where they were to meet, only to find Aponi waiting for her. “Your late,” the teenaged warrior said to her, and Sasha snorted. It wasn't like her student to be early, and it was normally Sasha that was the one left waiting. However, today was a special day, and it would be the first day that she would allow the over-anxious trainee to actually track a kronador. The very thought of it brought a knot to the pit of her stomach, but the whole thing was inevitable. She could only hope that things would go as planned and the whole thing would be a controlled experience.
S P A C E“No, you're early,” she replied, her tone a bit more sarcastic than usual. Sasha had never really been one to speak so harshly, but Aponi brought it out in her, as she seemed to do with just about everyone else. As it was, she received a sniff and a roll of green eyes as the trainee got to her feet, clearly anxious to be off.
S P A C ETogether, the two warriors set off back into the forest, and Sasha carefully guided her student to the very edge of the patrol route. There was no certainty that they would even be able to find a chimera, let alone one that was near enough the territory that they could risk sneaking up on it, but as they drew closer, the acrid scent of kroandor lifted up to her nose and Sasha stopped. Looking to Aponi, she could see that the trainee had picked up the scent from the way her nose had wrinkled up under her wooden helmet. “You smell that? That's kroandor. Now, keep low and stay quiet and I'll show you how to track them,” she said in a hushed voice, and for the first time since she had met the pup, Aponi seemed to take her seriously.
S P A C EEvery inch of Sasha was on alert, she would never forgive herself is something happened to Aponi while she was under her care, but she quickly pushed all doubt from her mind. After all, she was confident in her abilities, and there were few who could match her stealth. Keeping low, and her nose to the ground, Sasha easily picked up the recent trail and the two warriors slipped silently through the underbrush until a quiet huff reached her ears and she froze. She knew they were close, and ever so carefully she pressed through the woody underbrush until she reached the edge of a small clearing. There, just on the other side of it she could hear the low rumblings of kroandors.
S P A C ENext to her, Aponi's eyes were wide, and her ears pinned back under her helmet, and Sasha gently nudged the young warrior under her chin to offer her some encouragement. Heart pounding in her chest, Sasha directed Aponi to lift her head up over the screen of grass in front of them, and together they looked out onto the meadow. Before them was a mare and her foal, resting near the remains of a kill, the monsters seeming deceptively peaceful where they lay.

Sasha's armor was originally designed to resemble a beetle, much like her tiny companion, Eve. My design keeps this same concept as well as the same iridescent green, simply adding in some more articulation for movement and a bit better protection for her flanks and neck.

2 Facts About WoI:

Warriors are divided out into patrols which are named after Egyptian gods, and are divided by gender, only a single sex serving per patrol. These patrols are led by the generals, who are some of the strongest WOI with the heaviest armor.

Korandors are the eternal enemies of the Warriors, and are massive chimaeras looking something like a mix between a horse and a lizard. They all have vicious teeth and claws, but only the males have horns.

'Sasha' is the name which parents gave her right after her birth.
'Bezzoka' is the name that she took after she had become blind in her left eye.
Polish words 'bez oka' mean 'without eye' in English.

Story:

How Sasha became Bezzoka
The edge of the sun appeared over the horizon and tops of trees glistened in first shafts of sunlight. At the same time, songs of birds resounded all over the forest and leaves of trees rustled in the light breeze. Thanks to these sounds, footsteps of the white and black warrior, running in the forest, were almost inaudible. That was really needed as the warrior was on a mission. She had got the order: find the flaniers' herd, count them and come back to lead the hunters.
Paws of Sasha touched the ground softly, her ears moved in all directions, catching every sound. All the time she sniffed at the air, trying to find the smell of the flaniers. The whole sun came over the horizon when she finally caught some scent. However, it didn't belong to creatures she was looking for. It was very acrid, bitter smell that Sasha hates. The odor of kronadors!
'They're on OUR territory!' Sasha thought angrily. Her mission stopped mattering, the presence of beasts on the pack's territory was much more important. She raised her head to check the direction of wind blows and started to prowl towards beasts, having the wind blowing in her face. Thanks to it, her smell shouldn't have reached the chimeras. She approached the brush under which she could look at kronadors.
'One adult and two young ones,' she counted quickly and pulled out. She needs to warn the warriors before beasts would cause some damage. She ran fast, not bothering to stay quiet. Suddenly, she heard some noise behind her; footsteps and a rustle in the nearby bushes.
'The Chimeras are tracking me?!' she thought in small panic and glanced backwards without slowing down. At that moment, her left forepaw hit a branch of a bush and she lost her balance, soon falling to the ground. She had the misfortune of falling into deep hole with sharp rocks on its bottom. The female hit her head on the rocks with such force that her helmet fell off, she felt a sharp pain in the left side of her head and soon lost consciousness.

When Sasha woke up, she didn't move any muscle. She focused on sounds and scents. Using her senses, she realized she was in WoI cave. She opened her eyes, raised her head and looked around. Sasha frowned slightly, her vision was different but she didn't know why.
“Close your left eye.” She heard the voice of Igino from somewhere around her and did what he said. Almost immediately, she opened her eye again. Then closed it for a second time.
“I thought so,” the shaman said. “Your left eye is damaged. You're blind in it.”
'Nooo.' Sasha groaned, dragging out the word.
“I'm sorry,” Igino sighed. “But you're lucky to be alive. If the patrol hadn't seen your fall and brought you here, you would have died.”
“What? They saw my fall? They were so close to me... Did I hear them behind me, NOT the kronadors?”
“After your fall, the patrol brought you here really fast. Thanks to that, you survived. But they didn't notice any kronadors there.”
Sasha put her head down and closed her eyes.

The Kronadors didn't follow me. I heard footsteps of the patrol behind me and I thought that there were beasts. Because of that, I got a panicked, and I stumbled... and fell to the ground. And I lost my eye!
Because of my panic...
Because of the noise behind me.
Because of warriors!
Couldn't they shout to me that it's just them?! It's their fault! I'm blind in one eye! I have to learn how to live without one eye but even then I won't be as good hunter as I was.
I'm blind in left eye! For the rest of my life...

Bezzoka opened her eyes and stood up.
Since that moment, the white and black wolf changed. She always was shy and quiet but after the accident, Bezzoka also became sullen and snarky. However, she started to avoid any company and even during the rare meetings with her brother and few friends, she didn't show her emotions. Because of that, nobody knew about the change which had come in her.
Until one day when...

2 Facts About WoI:
- In Isket there're small yellow or white birds called butterbirds. They are companions of warriors and help them, healing their wounds. One special warrior, the shaman, can communicate with butterbirds.
- When WoI become teens, they get their first armor which is made out of wood. They use it during training. As they become rank candidates, they must go through dangerous mission after which they gain their own armor. Somewhere on it there's WoI name written in special code.
