About
Delké are a specie of Draft equines that roam the plains of native America. They are very trusting and usually quite fast and strong. The heards are run by a lead stallion and a lead mare, the stallion looks after the main running of the heard while the mare takes over the duties of making sure foaling goes okay and treating to the wounded. Delké usually give birth to two foals and rarely one, when a pair of Delké have mated and the mare is expecting, the stallion then drops his normal duties (scouting for danger and keeping away predators) and devotes himself to caring for the mare and his unborn foal. Each Delké will have either war or hunting paint which are drawn on at birth with a special paint by the lemur they live with. All Delké have natural colors and markings (Appaloosa and Skew/Piebald being the most common) but rarely a mutation will pop up.
The Lemur live with the Delké at two per heard(2 per person) and can communicate with the equines extremely well, they have the build of ring-tails but come in a rainbow of colors, this is because of the exotic fruits and nuts they feed off.
The markings are based on the Native American paint
Random Trivia
A Delké foal is blind and cannot walk for the first two days of its life.
Lemur can predict what gender a foal will be with 90% accuracy
Delké are allusive and have never been discovered by humans, and intend to keep it that way.
Delké can live for up to 120 years old.
Delké mate for life and even have ceremonies to make their mate-ship official. In these ceremonies the mare cleans herself in a lake and has flowers placed in her mane and tail by a lemur, the stallion also cleans himself in a lake. The ceremony takes place with the rest of the heard in a circle around the couple, the Lemur says an ancient prayer and the couple place their heads together for a few seconds and then they are officially mates.
The first Delké had long flowing tails and manes but as they got in the way and collected dirt, they evolved to be shorter.
