What is a Demon Pony?

A demon pony is an odd occurrence indeed. It is when a demon forms a contract with a pony and bonds to it.
These contracts can only be broken with consent from both parties. The representation of this bond is in the form of jewelry or some other accessory which holds the power of their contract. An example of this is a necklace or accessory of some sort.

If a contract is broken the demon separates from its host pony and loses its power.
These contracts are often very beneficial to each other though, the demon is given a source of energy and security from the pony and in return the pony is given magical abilities concerning the demon's element. Demons are bonded to a pony through their tail and take on the shape of their base element. However, sometimes a demon may bond directly to the pony with no visual representation. These demon ponies are called Shar.


Very rarely do demons take on a pony form without a host. A rare example of this is Princess Raza the Fire Demon who has enough energy and powers to shift into a pony independently. She rules over the elemental demon ponies, and casts spells that can freeze age, accelerate it, break contracts, etc.


Demon pony hosts often live much longer than normal ponies; they can live to be 500+ years old with assistance from their demon.

So recently Cry officially deemed me an artist- so my contest entry DPs are going UFA!
The first of that trio is the galaxy mare I made, now DP 23.

Alora is silent, she hardly talks, most think she cant, she isnt very sociable, and she always observes before others before action. She can be often be found walking alone. The Few times she makes friends her personality changes drastically, she becomes loud and happy, and quite friendly, but still the shy when others are around. She isnt one to confront her problems or to save others, she hates bullys and find it annoying. She is very intelligent and has the slight unspoken hate for the dumb, they drive her insane due to the lack of understanding to her and her feelings.

Glittering Gaze

Glittering Gaze is a mare who grew up on the streets, though you'd never guess looking at her now. A famed navigator and highly sought after for journeys at sea. She's certainly a smart individual and can talk her way out of almost any situation. Glittering Gaze is quite temperamental and not against using violence as a means to an end or profanity to express high emotions. Brash and impulsive she may be but Glitter is a good pony who will do what's right no matter what the cost. Just because she's pretty doesn't mean she's dumb but she uses her looks to her advantage to outwit the less fortunate in the intelligence department that attempt to hit on her. When Glittering Gaze shines, there is practically no other that can match her inner light. The one thing she must always try to do is balance her work with activities that give more freedom; otherwise she may become far too engrossed in work and that may take time that she could be spending with friends. She's always wanted to be admired by her friends and family along with the world around her. Glittering Gaze loves to joke and have a laugh but when something is wrong she can get serious at the drop of a hat.

If someone were to ask her to do something, she usually does it right then, or else it might possibly slip her mind as she can sometimes be terribly forgetful. Now, if Glittering Gaze were being blamed for something she did, she wouldn't care. Or, she'd act like she doesn't care. She'd most likely want to at least punch the pony who blamed her, but she manages to control herself. She reminds herself that she is a professional, and that no lies are to be told in real life. So, she relaxes, and basically takes the blame for everything, when the one who blamed her stands there, shocked. She'd be just a tad more annoyed if she were being blamed for something she didn't do, but she figures it's for the best, so she takes the blame, just the same. Glitter isn't the biggest fan of rules so if you happen to find her in a place with strict rules, be aware that something may end up damaged. She will always remain loyal to those she has given her love to. She has fair bit of information stored inside her head that she has picked up from her travels so can often come out with a fact at complete random. Glitter can be extremely moody when she's utterly exhausted snapping easily and snarling at anyone who bothers her with pointless things.

She tends to get lost in the beauty of the wild open world where things are still as they have been for many long years.

Her name basically means a soft glow that resembles the stars.

Astral's alluring appearance is often more charming than her personality. Many stallions seek to win the beautiful mare over... Until they get to know her that is. Astral tends to come off as more than a bit serious and quiet when you first meet her -- she doesn't fancy idle chat and she prefers reading and star-gazing over the company of others. A smile is a rare occurrence and her attitude towards friendship is obviously not a good one. She hardly ever delves into conversations with other ponies unless it is of the utmost necessity -- which in her mind, the necessity to do so is always slim and not of much importance. To avoid socializing with other ponies, Astral usually just ignores them entirely and buries her nose deeper into whatever book -- usually one about the stars and galaxies -- she may be reading with a roll of her eyes, a very bad habit of her's. Whenever somepony gets to know her well -- which doesn't happen often -- they do not discover an 'incredibly soft side,' they find a grouchy, inconsiderate, and sometimes mean pony who just desperately seeks the attention and approval of others, a desire she has always tried to keep secret. Astral can be a bit snobby and disdainful after you get to know her very well and she feels no guilt at all telling other ponies exactly what she thinks of them, no matter how rude or hurtful it may be. Despite all of Astral's flaws, she is incredibly smart and articulated. She did very well in Foal School, standing at the top of her class, much to the annoyance of all the other fillies. She is very well-read and loves to correct ponies whenever they say something wrong, a habit she picked up from her teacher in school. She tends to take pride -- often a bit too much -- in her wit and it sometimes gets her into trouble that she can't talk her way out of. Astral can sometimes come to care for other ponies, but she usually cares for them from a 'safe' distance. She becomes even more terrible acting around those she likes because she is clueless as to how she can express her care for them and she also fears the rejection of her feelings towards them. One of the ponies closest to Astral is her sister, Rosalina, whom she loves deeply but often doesn't treat as gingerly as she should. Astral is always insulting Rosalina and pretending that the fun-loving mare doesn't even exist. Despite all of the harsh criticisms that Rosalina often gets from her sister, Rosalina loves Astral undyingly and just ignores her sister's comments. Rosalina loves to try and make Astral laugh and enjoy herself, much to Astral's annoyance. Rosalina has always been very caring and generous towards her grouchy sister and would do anything for her.
