Altine #7

Postby capone. » Sun Jul 06, 2014 9:50 am

An Altine is a furry mammal native to colder climates. They range from the size of a wolf to the size of a tiger. Both males and females have manes, although the males' tend to be a bit larger and furrier. Altines are most recognisable by two features: their masks and their tails. All Altines have a raccoon-like mask on their face; there has never been and will never be an Altine without a mask. Altines are also distinguished by their tails. They all have a thick tail with a mouth on the end. The mouth operates by use of a second brain, but cannot vocalise in any form. Occassionally, the tail-mouths have long fangs that secrete venom. This, however, is quite uncommon. For an unknown reason, the tail-mouths' tounges are always brightly coloured and forked.

Jade, def. A name that is popular in Australia, the name is in relation to the hard green, or white jadeite or nephrite stone, though the name was developed from french to english, originally meaning Stone of side; believing the stone could heal pain in the sides.

Jade is a very beautiful female ~<3

Frisbee competitions; She's seen creatures that look like her compete in many Frisbee competitions and prosper in them. She spends hours out of each and every day practicing, she dreams of one day entering a competition, one that isn't with her friends. It's not that she didn't like her friends, she'd only wished others wouldn't judge her by her tail, more often than not her tail get's in the way of her entering competitions.

Entirely her tail gives her an extreme advantage when she's in competition, the tail since it acts like a secondary brain shares the tasks used, most normal canines would have trouble with running straight forward away from the frisbee, this is not so for Jade. There's not even a hesitation before she begins running out into the field, here's why; Before the frisbee is thrown Jade would face towards the frisbee, (if there was a human, or another frisbee tosser with her) as soon as it was thrown the calculation of the strength the frisbee was thrown was calculated to speed and transfered to the tails mind, of which the speed was estimated into a timer as to when the frisbee would hit the ground. The Altine would then focus on running while the tails mind would be focusing on counting down until a good five seconds from the frisbees landing point to then communicate back to the Altine to turn, and catch the frisbee at the point of where it should be in the air. The technique may seem complicated, but usually in a tactic of such a normal competitor would have alot of stress put upon a single mindset to calculate. With two different mindsets to divide the tasks throughout a communicated thought process, and result in a neat productive physical strategy, only brings ease to the Altine.

7/7/14 Monday; Observation #3 Aussie? wrote: Alright, this is the third animal i've found around the area, i'm beginning to get used to encountering weird creatures in this realm, but this one shocked me. I was walking around a park, it was in the evening and I was venturing around the baseball fields, since my interests included softball.I was casually minding my business when I saw a dog that resembled an Australian Shepherd out in the distance. At first I ignored it, but my instinctive curiosity got the better of me, I had gotten used to carrying a sketch pad in my bag so I could draw my encounters. Just in case I took it out and snuck over to the creature, as soon as I had reached the third field where the creature was playing fetch with itself. With it's tail, did I mention it had a mouth?! I nearly shrieked when I saw the detailed incisors, and canines of the tail. I noticed it was a female, and she seemed very determined to catch the Frisbee whenever the tail decided to pitch it. I watched from a distance before getting a rough sketch of the creature. Once i'd documented it's features I tried to inch closer I stepped on something that crunched, I don't quite remember what. The animal almost immediately perked it's ears up and bolted in the opposite direction. She was quick, I barely saw her due to the time of day and her speed.

key words applying to personality traits and physical advantages, and disadvantages are put into itallics, as well as general form information the first time it's mentioned.

I've grown quite used to seeing the creature from a long distance, I'd taken the time to name her,Jade after her tails odd mouth coloring. She seemed to know I was there, but she was content. It was just like, I was there, and she was there, that was it nothing more. Today, though, it was different, she was watching me, being very observant of every move I made.I just laughed at her for the moment, until I realized the serious look upon her face. In fascination I dropped my drawing book to the side and watched her behavior, I jumped when I found that she'd moved closer. I smirked towards her before looking down at my lap, and then looking up once again. She'd moved into the dugout looking at me, her tail wagging slightly holding the frisbee, it's glistening fangs bearing a slobery rain down on the plastic disc. I shuddered in disgust before focusing onto the Altine's face, she was a cute Altine, rather small, that explained her, speed, and stealth. I moved my hand forward a little bit, she backed up still quite a bit timid of my presence. Soon I decided to get up and move away, she once again sped off in the opposite direction, this time, she dropped the frisbee. I quickly hustled into the dugout and snatched it off the bench. I looked at it for a moment then glanced around taking it and my sketch pad putting it back into my bag, then bolting off towards home.

It may just be because I kept her only toy safe until about two days later. She actually sat by me today, I made a nice head shot sketch of her that was quite accurate, alot more so than my black and white sketch.I may just try to research her breed, if she even has one before my trip out of state next week.I hope our relationship doesn't deteriorate over that time
