Erebus rose early, his goal for the day to bond with the new arrival. He made his way swiftly out the door- an apple in hand-and made his way to the fence. the ground sloshed and squished underneath his boots-mud splattering with each step. The rain had soaked the grounds, the ranch in its entirety. The cattle and horse herds alike seemed to relish in the slick , mud coated grounds- taking to play- splashing and rolling in the filth. How fun it would be to groom them all again. He laughed gently at the thought, his eyes moving fro mthe distant herds to fall on the horse before him.
The rain had washed away a great deal of the dirt and mud she had been caked with- and th elush pasture she was in had prevented any further mud to stick to her if she rolled. Her mane and tail weren't as matted as they had been- now revealing their impressive length. She'd need a haircut for sure. She stood silently, ears perked forward at the male- her forelock covering her eyes. The two simply stared at one another for the longest time- before he stepped through the gate, offering ht eapple in hand.

Of course, she didn't like that terribly well. She took to trotting laps around him- the sun rising behind her on a gentle ruby sky. She turned suddenly- tired of th egame, and charged him- before she was skidding to a stop, and high tailin git the other way. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning," he thought with a laugh.

After a tedious 'which way you goin'?' dance, he'd managed to get close to her, close enough to stroke her velveteen nose- and feed her bits of the apple.

By the time noon rolled around,though, and the other workers had come to the ranch- she was back to her evasive ways. He sighed- leaving her some feed and fresh hay- before he returned to his ranch house to find sustenance of his own.
