"H-hello there, little egg... Now, it won't matter to me whether you're a girl or boy, but I hope that you'll be something like your mother... Fiercely protective. She was a mythical beast of the forest, I hope you know. And you don't have to be gentle necessarily, but please don't be evil. I know we'll be best of friends... or we'll try to make it work! And these little horns of yours, they're so dull... Might they might be sharper when you hatch? Anyway, I can't wait to see what you look like, little one!"
It twitches in response, having heard you and felt you.
Congratulations! The small fractures appear in the egg's shell, glowing a bright blue from these before the shell splits and a little head crowned with six red horns emerges.
They appear to be agender, and there is a gentle look to their eye despite the keen sharpness of the horns. As they grow, they begin to emit little puffs of blue smoke from their mouth! The creature has shimmering runes that move about and grow in number as they age. Their shaggy mane appears to be made out of greyish red lace, occasionally tearing or being caught on things and needing you to trim it! Their head appears to be a skull, but the lacy mane grows very thickly where the head is joined to the body and we cannot see how bone becomes flesh.
Despite being scary looking, they are quite affectionate and loyal. If you are threatened, they will protect you with all their might.
