What Is Serenity Shelter?
Serenity is a dog rescue. We rescue dogs of all kinds and rehabilitate them to be able to be adopted. Not all dogs have a nice past, such as just being given up to the shelter because their owners couldn't afford to care for them. Some are abandoned. Some were left for dead. But each one is special, and each one is full of love and ready to share it. We give the dogs the best care we can provide, but nothing beats a home that they can call their own. So are you ready to adopt?

This little guy was found alone at night in a box in front of a busy supermarket. It seemed his siblings had been picked up by passersby, but he was left alone. We took him back to the shelter and cleaned him up to discover he had a perfect arrow-shaped marking on his left shoulder! He's now ready for a loving home.

After the arrow marking, simple and sweet. c:

Extra:
Bright lights, rushing cars, loud voices. The city is a haven
of both beauty and danger. A box is left alone on the street
in the path of a supermarket. Two small paws scramble at
it's sodden, soft edges as Arrow pulls himself up above the
bustle and wriggling of his siblings below. The world is so
big... Large brown eyes reflect the bright colours and car
lights and the loud car horns and chorus of speech is almost
earpiercing to Arrow.

Well. Let me tell you what I remember. Being young I don't remember much but I will do my best. My earliest memory is learning to walk in the alley way. My momma watch all of us closely careful not to let a single one of us out of her site. It was really annoying since I always wanted to run out of the Alley way and see what all that noise was but I guess it was for the best that I didn't. A lady would also feed my Momma, Siblings, and I. She lived in box in that Alley way too. It was big enough for all of us to cram in at night. The lady never had much food, or new toys, but she loved us and did give us scratchy ropes, she tied them around our necks and we wore them constantly. Now the toy situation was still amazing! We had shoes, socks, bottles, rocks, everything a puppy could want. Every the lady would pick them up and throw them into the even bigger green box beside our box and a huge loud and scary monster would come and pick up the green box and take our toys but there would always be more come morning. Some days water would fall from the sky and we would play in it but the lady always got mad and would wipe us off, i didn't mind though. Now that I'm think of it, she used to call me something, it started with a Ssss sound but I forget what it was. Now back to the memories. I do remember my Momma telling me about how all puppies go to different humans after so long and sometimes they'll have a house, new toys, and a big yard but I didn't want to leave, I was happy there. I spent what seemed like forever with my family play, snuggling, eat food. One morning I woke up early like always. The air was cold and crisp I walk away from the box my little legs carrying myself to the edge of the Alley where I did my thing and slowly returned to big green box. Crawling under I searching for my favorite toy, a shoe. Gnawing on the hard rubber heal I listened as my Siblings woke up and then my Momma. The Lady always slept longer but I didn't complain. Slowly the sun peaked high into the sky and shone down upon our little slice of the city. The Lady yawned weirdly like always and sat up. She said good morning to all of us and greeted us with pets and love. She stood and walked to the edge of the Alley and turned around quickly and said stay. I knew better than to leave under the big green box when The Lady first woke up. She disappeared for a few hours. I did eventually crawl out from under the big green box and tackled my one sister wrestling her to the ground. As we all settled down for a nap a shadow loomed over us. The Lady was back with a sturdy brown box. One by one she picked us up and set us in the box. It was the last one but I didn't mind. Curling up in a corner I went back to sleep in no mood to play. I woke up at the sound of a loud noise. We were all sitting at the edge of a street with large noisy moving monsters going by quickly and many humans walking past. Some of my siblings were missing, only 3 of the 6 remained. I watch as my sister was picked up by a human with long hair. She didn't make a sound just cuddled into the humans arm and disappeared into the noise. It was hours, and hours, and hours, it was getting dark and cold and I was all alone. The noisy monsters were gone and so were the humans. I laid down and let out a sigh and slowly closed my brown eyes, or at least I think they are brown... Once the sun was high in the sky the heat started, i was thirsty and hungry, the noisy monsters had been back for hours and people started again, some stopped and looked at me but continued on their way. It was nearly dark again till a noisy monster stopped in front of my wet box. A human stepped out and reached her hand out to me. I gladly ran over and tried to climb out on it but this time instead of failing, I made it out! Ok so my paws weren't on the ground, they were in the air, near the humans chest. She slowly got back into the noisy monster which was very quiet on the inside. I fell asleep on her lap and woke back up in yet another strange place. I've been here for a few months now and have learned a new name, tricks, and that noisy monsters are really called Cars.

Oh oh oh! One of my favorite memories was when I first got the shelter. I was still a little sleepy but oh so excited. There was new dogs, new people, new toys, and the best part. I wasn't alone. I really woke up once I was in the kennel. I had a dog below me and one above me. The cage was big enough for me to stand and walk around in. I had a little water but couldn't find any food. I spent the rest of that day drinking water and talking to the other dogs. I couldn't see them but they were very nice and reassured me that I would be fine. I listen contently to the old hound at the other end of the kennels. He told me stories about him traveling all over the city. Every now and then a human would come in and look into our cages or give us more water. Slowly the sun went down, I could see it through a window. Once it had disappeared the sun on the ceiling went out too. I was confused as everyone slowly went to sleep. I asked the old hound who was still awake to what was going on and simply said "Good night pup." So I figured it was bed time. I laid down on the blanket they had given me and closed my eyes. I don't know how long I was asleep but I woke up at the sound of Humans talking. I jumped to my tiny paws and leaped over to the door. My tail wagged like crazy as I saw a few people file into the room. I yipped loudly hoping to get their attention. It worked and they walked over to my little metal box and opened the bars. I leaped into their arms, literally. They nearly dropped me but oh well I was happy. I didn't get to play but instead went straight out of the room and into another one across the hallway. In that room I was sat on a metal table. It was cold but hey, there was people. The man in a white coat pat my head and then started pulling my jowls up to look at my teeth and gums, rude. Once he was done looking at my teeth he picked up my front legs and made me stand on my back legs to look at my belly. He nodded then let my feet return to the ground. He spun me around and looked at me, spun me back around and put the cold circle to my chest. He smiled slightly then pulled it away. My tail was still going nuts till he got the point stick. He wiped off a spot on my leg then stuck the sharp end it. It hurt for a second then he pulled it out. It had gone from clear to red. I watch patiently as he went over and put a little bit of the red on a plastic square and looked at it through a machine. "All clear." He said in a deep voice. The sound of his booming voice scared me a bit and I jumped back. Silly thing to be afraid of I know. He used the rest of the red stuff which I figured out to be blood on other little tests. Apparently I did really good with all the test, and I didn't even study so I am guessing I'm really smart. The nice lady in blue clothes picked me back up and took me away. Instead of going back to my small metal box I went to a big one! It was full of other puppies and people were constantly walking past. I made friends with a lot of them, especially a Dalmatian pup she was very sweet but I over heard the people talking and she is getting a home soon, but that's ok. So, that's my best memory, me getting a chance at a family.
