A Dream wrote:Flabella's biggest dream is to fly. She loves watching the birds soar high, and insects flit from flower to flower, place to place... She could go for hours just sitting there staring at these creatures, and sometimes it makes her happy, makes her glad she has her wings, despite being flightless, because she is like them, she has wings. However this also frustrates her, and thus why it became her dream, because what good are wings if they cannot fly?
More often than not she gets upset and can't even look at herself in a mirror because she will see her useless wings and be reminded that she cannot fly, she can't be as free as she truly wants to be.
Sure, artificial flying is okay to her, but it isn't the same. She wants to be up high soaring through the crystal blue sky, flying in and out of the fluffy white clouds... But alas, only in her dreams is Flabella able to do so. Those nighttime flights in her mind are the only thing that keeps her hopeful and keeps her dream of wanting to fly stay alive, rather than burn to the ground completely because of her self-hatred of those darn, beautiful wings.
Unexpected - Anthro wrote:The female walked with long strides, head down and teal eyes covered by her long, flowing hair. She kept twirling a lock of her bluish-purple mane with her index finger, as if it calmed her down. And in a sense, it did; the girl was very nervous at all times, and considering the fact that she was shyer than a unicorn didn't help her anxiety much. It just made it worse.
She had just moved to New Orleans, and was still getting accustomed to life here. So many Kitsus, and since she was too quiet, most of them just skipped over her. But she didn't mind it that much. She liked being alone... Sometimes. At other times, she just wanted a friend.
The girl sighed and continued walking down the sidewalk, eyes glued to the concrete, when she suddenly bumped into someone. The female squeaked in fear and cringed, preparing herself for a potential attacker. However, the other Kitsu did not try to deliver a blow. He didn't even seem mad.
The older, male Kitsu blinked and looked down at the female, smiling warmly when he saw her. "Hello, mon petite rusé," he chuckled in a light French accent, bending down to her height - he was quite tall, after all - to get a good look at her. The girl did not look up; instead, she flinched and let her eyes trail back down to the concrete.
The male Kitsu tilted his head, slightly confused, but grinned and decided to try again. "Je m'appelle François," he said. "Comment t'appelles?"
Now it was the girl's turn to look confused. She blinked slowly and looked up at the Frenchman curiously, a puzzled look on her face. "U-uhm... I-I'm sorry, b-but what...?"
The blonde male, upon realizing that the girl could not understand French, laughed heartily and reached out for her hand. "I apologize, miss," he purred softly. "I did not know you couldn't speak French. My name is Francois. What is yours?" He pulled her hand to his lips and kissed it gently, smiling towards the younger female.
The girl's face went from its usual, pale grey to a beet red in merely seconds. She stammered a bit, averting her eyes from Francois's, before mumbling quietly, "M-my name... My name is J-Jinxx. I-it's nice to meet you, Francois..."
Francois beamed and released her hand, patting her head gently. "Well, it's nice to meet you too, Jinxx," he smiled. "Maybe we'll see each other around sometime, eh? But for now, I must bid you adieu. I have to get to work."
Jinxx nodded quietly, smiling lightly as Francois grinned towards her before heading off in the other direction. Maybe... Just maybe...
She could learn to like it here.
