Rainy Shepherd #7 - closed

Postby Vayentha » Mon Mar 17, 2014 5:22 pm

The Rainy Sherpherd - a breed known for it's protective and nurturing attitude. These large, furry canines live on a minor planet named Spica, after an ear of wheat. The planet holds a terrain that is very much similar to what is found in scotland. Temperate highlands with rocky cliffs into the sea and lush green fields that slowly ascend into mountainous terrain. It rains frequently on Spica; the shepherd really enjoys this weather, thus their name.

name: Kristoff
gender: Male
personality:
Kristoff has a heart of gold, even if it needs a little cleaning. He's loyal and careful with others, but will try to keep a smile on everyone's face. Kris feels the air around him and changes accordingly. If everyone is having a down day, he'll keep his antics down, and if everyone is excited, well, what better reason to make jokes and pull pranks. Kris loves to cuddle up to others, using his somewhat softer than usual fur to comfort and allow someone to take a break from the world around them.
{93 words}
history/background:
He was born in a litter of three. He, and his two sisters. Their mother was sweet and loving, raised as a herder, and a good friend of the creatures that lived in the highlands. His sisters were somewhat unhappy pups, and he wasn't sure why. They never bothered him, but instead, bothered each other. Kristoff liked the life on the cliffs, the fresh air blowing through the wind and the sweet scent of the sea, breaking upon the rocks. He never strayed far from his birthplace, even after his mother had passed on and sisters moved away.
His skills in climbing overwhelmed his skills in swimming, and he used his webbed feet for scaling the cliffs, instead of swimming in the seas and lakes below. It wasn't like he wanted to anyways. There was a monster in one of the lakes that Kristoff stuck around, and he refused to swim. He'd seen it with his own eyes, after all! The eyes covered in fur? Yes, the eyes covered in fur! What other ones did he have?
Kris's intense hatred for the lake came from a bad day in the water. Even if he was unable to swim very deep, he still enjoyed the feeling of the water in his fur. The day was clear and quiet, the tweeting of the Spican birds only occasional. It was shortly after his family had left, but he was alright with them. The water was a shining blue, glimmering in the sunlight and enticing all who came near, Kristoff no stranger.
He'd walked in slowly, paw after paw, barely making a noise. The clear liquid was warm with the sun's heat and it made the darker patches of his fur slowly chill off. On the bottom of the lake wasn't sand, but dirt. Small sticks and rocks littered the bottom, and would once in a while float up or get in the way. Kris continued to swim, enjoying the cool water and clean air. When suddenly, his paw got snatched.
He yelped in fear, not sure what to make of it. Something was grabbing his leg, and he couldn't tell with the mop of man in his eyes. It looked like a long, bristly hand, green and spikey, digging into his fur. In fear he turned around, trying to get free, but to no avail. He kicked his leg once, twice, and a final third time before running out of the water, heart pounding. He hopped up on a rock to watch for the creature that grabbed him, and he waited. One whole day and one whole night later, he assumed it was hiding and left.
Although he lives on the cliff, Kristoff goes to the lake everyday to make sure the creature is still hiding, and no one will get grabbed by it
Another thing about Kris's history is his relationship to the sheep. His mother was always seen as a friend to them, keeping them safe and watching for predators, so when the herds start to come to the lake, Kris tends to watch over them. They're kind to him, and he is kind to them. The sheep share stories for him to tell to others who come around, however rare they are, and he keeps them near and dear to his heart in memory of his mother.

name: Mai

gender: female

personality: {100 words max}
Mai is quiet, solitary, but not real sweet. She's got a dark side that shows more often, and she keeps to herself, presumably plotting, but really just enjoying her own company.

history/background: {750 words max}
Mai was born a cold, rainy day. She was quiet from the start, only letting out a whimper and then falling asleep. Her single mother was worried, and she always had the suspicion that something was different about Mai in the back of her head. The pup didn’t play well with others, she was solitary, she complained about the others for the same reasons most pups liked them. But her mother tried to get her into activities and such, and Mai just plain resented it. Time passed, Mai grew, she moved away from her mother, who had realized that there was nothing wrong with her pup, just that Mai’s nature was a solitary one. Mai lived in a rainy, cool, clear forest, and she still does. It has a clearing with a smooth rock cave, isolated from most, though little Spican animals often chittered and ran around, but Mai enjoyed their company. They calmed her, and she lives today enjoying nature, painting with watercolors, dancing around just for fun, playing with the little creatures, that kind of thing. She often visits the beach to pick up shells and such, swim, examine the wildlife, just relax. She lives in a peaceful harmony, her home being the nice cave in the woods by a shore.

other:If I win Rainy Shepherd #2 along with her, if it's okay I'll make them sisters. If I only get one or none at all, then I'll have one beautiful shepherd or I'll try for another. :3 If I somehow manage to get both, and I can't make them sisters, I'l just have two beauties <3
