An Astraline is a celestial being. They take on the form of a canine most resembling a fox or domesticated dog. Instead of a tail, they have a star. The older they get, the bigger the star gets and brighter the nebulae it produces. A few more distinguishing features are a bright, nebulaeic mane and a characteristic star marking on their foreheads. Astralines are typically always bright in color. Their nebulae is generally two or more colors, pulsating and intertwining at all times. They are generally peaceful creatures, but if provoked, no one truly knows their powers to the fullest extent.

Name
This Astraline's name would be Pyrrus, meaning 'Flame'. But some people just call him 'Pyr.' His real name, his birth name, however, was Cadence, due to the bright coloring of his tail, reminding his parents of the light that occurs at sunset before the sky gets dark, pink and orange enveloping the sky, waiting for that one more hour to begin fading into something new. But as he got older, his name was soon changed to Pyrrus as soon as they began seeing his true personality.

In Pyrrus' eyes, he is the best Astraline. The smartest, the strongest, the most attractive, the most free-spirited. Anything, really, it is the phase of "Anything you can do I can do better" that lasts his whole life. So, in short, he is a complete narcissist. His parents are unsure of how he got to think so highly of himself. They had never put such emphasis on appearance and he had been raised to learn humility because not everyone has the skills to do everything.

As they realized his personality shifting from their cute little pup to a narcissistic teen, they changed his name. Because Cadence no longer suited him. He had the same coloring of his tail and was still the same person, but had somehow drastically changed.

The name they chose was Pyrrus. And the idea behind it was this: A flame gets bigger as you pay attention to it and feed it and tend to it. Pyrrus was the same way, but it was his ego being fed and getting bigger each time he would receive a compliment or do something better than others.

Due to this, he became a bit of a loner. In his mind, all he needs is "Me, myself, and I." His interests, such as reading and star gazing and practically any competitive game are the things that fill his days and he rationalizes that others just aren't good enough for him. He speaks matter-of-factly but most people don't understand that even though his name, Pyrrus, represents his ego growing like a flame, sometimes his flame burns out and he becomes dejected. It doesn't happen often, but as his personality keeps people away, he realizes he has no one to comfort him. In this case, he will do a complete one-eighty, for at least a day, trying to make friends and seem like someone far less ego-centric. This 'faking' as others would call it, is how he sometimes has to cope. The friends he does have, he criticizes harshly for not being as amazing as he himself is, but they remain by his side and he can only appreciate them in times that he has no one else.

The complete turn-around that he does in a ditch effort to make friends is like how a flame can provide warmth and light, but it can also easily burn you. {481 words}

Pyrrus is a male, despite his coloring. The pink coloring of his tail made people believe he was a female when he was young but he would just turn around and say "It's pink because it's better than all of yours."

Cocoa (Coco for nickname) I think it's a name that suits this Astraline, as she is brown. I would like to call her Cocoa Orange full. But the little stars do remind me of some chocolate cookies that my friend gave to me c: and after all, chocolate is made out of cocoa. I prefer to keep this simple because simple can be good, don't want to get too complicated. Also reminds me of some Lindt dark cacao chocolate with orange in them :)
In other words, I like chocolate and cocoa (hot cocoa too x3)

Name: I would name this Astraline Folt. Folt, from the Hungarian term for "mottle" or "spotted," can also be used to refer to freckles. Folt was given his name as a pup, as he was born with several bright orange freckles across his muzzle. The other orange markings across his body developed to become more prominent as he aged, but the little orange freckles above his nose were his most recognizable trait as a young pup.
