Okay, I clearly need to work on my appaloosas more. XP
To win this girl, tell my how she became blind. [i.e. birth defect, disease, animal fight]
Note: any offspring she produces cannot become blind, so if the reason is disease, it cannot be genetic.

How did she become blind?:
[Fearless' P.O.V.]
I didn't do anything wrong. I don't deserve this. I had broken the fence of the pasture that day, and then I had run out. I shouldn't have, and I knew that deep down, but I just had to! Who wouldn't long for freedom after being cooped up for so long? Anyways, with the spots that I wore so proudly gleaming against my white fur, I jumped over the debris and ran. I shot up the rock slope near the pasture, and over the top to the small valley below. I have heard of ferocious animals taking down elk here, and my stupid curiosity wanted to see them. I longed for adventure. I got some. I smelled a peculiar scent, one someone similar to the cat at my barn. I sniffed the new scent out, trotting down the other side of the slope, into the valley. Who would turn back now? The smells of the barn and sounds of horses became distant, otherworldly. I felt a jump of fear and excitement in my chest, and butterflies arose. With each step I took, the forested valley seemed more and more sinister. The tree branches seemed to come towards me, holding and pushing me back-
No! I snorted and shook my head. Stupid imagination. I wasn't afraid! But I would be.
*~*~*
I had been exploring all day. I came to the other side of the valley, and when I did I turned back. I waded through the small stream and paused to take a drink, and then I made sure to graze the sweet-smelling, wild grass. The sun was lower in the sky, so I quickened my pace. My footsteps stopped along with my heart when I heard a low, hungry snarl. From the undergrowth game the odd-smelling animal I had scented earlier. I had a catlike body, but it was huge. Its claws were long and left marks in the grass. Fear racked me from head to hoof. What was its name again? Cougar. My mother told me about cougars that picked on little foals, which is why I never strayed from her side as a filly. I never thought I'd ever see one in real life, though.
The terrifying thing was, this cougar was hungry. It advanced slowly, deliberately, as though psyching me out. Yet this was no game. I was afraid, and in mortal danger. I reared up with all my might, and slammed my hooves down, but it only made the cougar take a few steps back and look angrier. I barely realized what was happening. Barely felt the pain. The cougar leapt with powerful back legs, reaching for my neck. I lowered my head to protect myself, but that was a huge mistake. The animal's claws slashed my eyes, and I squealed in pain. I toppled to the floor, my line of sight blurred by blood. Then there was a gunshot right over my head, then nothing.
*~*~*
My owner had come looking for me. I knew that I shouldn't have gone out like that, and I knew I'd be in trouble. But as soon as my owner shot the cougar, he ran to me and tenderly picked up my head. I whinnied with pain. He shushed me softly, and I couldn't do anything but stare blindly into space. I couldn't see. It hit me with terror, but I didn't thrash. I just stayed. I was loaded into a trailer and taken to the vet. When I was there, the veterinarian cleaned the blood away from my eyes and diagnosed the problem.
"Sir, your horse here is blind. That cat sliced her up real bad. I truly am sorry. I can either remove the eyes, or leave them, but it won't do anything much." I could hear them talking together. My owner stroked my face softly.
"That's alright. I'll just take her home. She doesn't deserve more trauma."
And that was that. Soon enough, I was loaded into the trailer again. My owner spoke little, but I knew he wasn't mad. He lead me with care into the pasture, and slowly released me. I was blind now, but I knew where everything was. I instinctively trotted to the side of the fence I'd broken. It was fixed. I blindly walked to the middle of the pasture and started to graze, but I was surrounded suddenly by concerned horses. I could feel their closeness, their anxiousness. I whinnied in distress and shoved past them, trotted to my own corner. I can't see. I am blind. Blind forever. I stared without really seeing at the open land. What I had once known was there, but then again, was it really? Nothing would ever be the same. Everything was different. I would be treated differently from now on. I couldn't bear to think of what the future held. I slowed my breathing. I would be okay. I'm Fearless.

How did she become blind?: Queenie was born blind, so she's grown used to not being able to see anything. When She was a filly, though, she used to run into everything and fall over. She was very clumsy because of this defect. Despite her clumsiness as a filly, she's now grown into quite the elegant character. Her name suits her very well, as she usually refers to herself as the "queen".
