Out in the wild, Taira had been caught in a hunter's trap. The hunters found the poor Dustie amusing, and one tied a ribbon around her tail. They threw her in a cage, ready to be ported back to London, England, when a strange fire-coloured wolf approached and set her free. Taira ran, not looking back, and had been wondering through the wilderness for a while, looking for the kind wolf to help her again, comfort her and keep her safe.

Why does this Dustie have a ribbon on its tail: Sunflower is quite vain, and loves shiny, flashy things. He found the ribbon one day, so he wrapped it around his tail and managed to (somehow) tie it in a bow with his teeth. It's his imaginary friend, as well as an accessory... It's name is Jhon.

Why does this Dustie have a ribbon on its tail?
Due to living in a dusty, dull desert, this Dustie has always been attracted to things of a brighter colour. The simple strand of blue-teal cloth in the girls hair caught his eye immediately. He followed her, bobbing his head, weaving, running, making sure she didn't notice him, but he was transfixed by the colourful cloth that matched his eyes so perfectly. He wanted it- no he had to have it. He hid in the cacti and let out an odd, deep-throated peeping noise. The girl, who was about 8 or 9 or so, paused, and glanced curiously over to where he sat hidden. He let out another peep and swished his tail to rattle a sage bush. The girl, curious as a cat, walked over and peered down. She frowned. All she saw was a slightly spiked tail. She felt a tug on her braid and turned around, her mouth falling open in shock to see a Feather Duster, looking quite abashed, with her ribbon in his mouth. He hadn't expected to get caught. He bobbed his head and peeped. The human girl giggled and gently tugged the ribbon from his mouth. She looped it through the spikes on his tail and smiled sweetly, tying it with a bow. "There," she said, kissing his muzzle, much to his surprise. She skipped away, humming happily and he stood there for a moment, looking delighted, before running all over creation with his new ribbon. After that, he would pick up anything colourful or shiny and attach it to his ribbon, proud and happy.
