What Is Serenity Shelter?
Serenity is a dog rescue. We rescue dogs of all kinds and rehabilitate them to be able to be adopted. Not all dogs have a nice past, such as just being given up to the shelter because their owners couldn't afford to care for them. Some are abandoned. Some were left for dead. But each one is special, and each one is full of love and ready to share it. We give the dogs the best care we can provide, but nothing beats a home that they can call their own. So are you ready to adopt?

A chocolate Doberman this time. ( and excuse the anatomy, eheh.)

- We found this guy when an aggressive dog was found in a junkyard. We could tell that the owner of the junkyard had bought him as a puppy to defend it, but had just dumped him on the ground for him to fend for himself. We found he wasn't exactly aggressive around humans, just nervous. We've trained him and now he's in need of a great home!

The light slowly flickerred to some beat I couldnt hear as the sun slowly touched at the horizon. The darkness of night slowly fading away and I heard him ratlle at the gate. Like always I ran to him, tail wagging ears presses to my scull hoping that things would be different.

Life Scene
The winter was cold, the snow mush on the ground and soaked into my fur. It made my bones cold. It made me cold. I was maybe a year old then, hardly a guard dog at the time. Whimpering and whining at the door got me nothing, so I sat, shivering, against the door of a rusted car. The leather band around my neck hurt and dug into my thin fur, the metal chain attached to it heavy. I whimpered, alone in the cold air, unaware of what was soon to happen.

A rustle came from the bushes on the other side of the fence and many beady, peering eyes met my startled gaze. Rats! As they started to come through the fence, I yelped and squealed, trying to get away. One rat, a brown one, snickered and approached me.

"Hehe. What's the matter kid? Scared we're gonna hurt ya'?" he sniffed, looking at mt leather band. The chain was taut, and I couldn't get away from him as he climbed up me. "Hmm. Mind me takin' this? It's be nice in the den." he asked, looking at me with a twitching little nose. I was afraid and didn't want to be hurt, so I nodded my head.

"Good!" he grinned, yellow teeth showing. He came closer and started to gnaw away at it. Eventually, between his chewing and hoe taut I had it, it snapped, and I tumbled back. The rat few in the opposite direction. I scrambled for the door, tail tucked between my legs.

He took the leather and flicked his tail at me. "Thanks again, kid!" he laughed. I never saw him since.

Life Scene: The cold storms started splashing at the windows, the glass breaking and water pouring into the small little warm filled house. Rain kept pouring and pouring, my owners were nowhere to be found. I climbed up onto a table which I knew that I was never taught to do but to live I had to disobey at least once. As I saw a piece of plaid clothing from one of my owners cloths I immediately jumped in to save him, yet when I arrived it was just nothing besides cloth. I wined for my owners yet no reply, my long legs tried to swim for the table yet since I wasn't a water breed I just splashed and splashed getting nowhere, suddenly everything went black.

As I woke up I wasn't sure if I was alive or not. I looked around at my surroundings, all I saw was trash, trash, and even more trash. I wined a bit since I was still just a young pup, I stood up from what I was so called laying in a filthy bed thrown into a pile of mud. I licked my long legs trying to heel the pain from all the swimming of last nights dream yet I realized it wasn't a dream, Hurricane Katrina really did happen and that was just the start of it. My owners were nowhere to be seen and worst of all I was all alone in a junk yard, surrounded by water...
