Tvetyals are a unique species of dragon-like mammals, the closest modern animal approximation being a big canine with the behavior of a puffin. They come in a large variety of sizes, with the smallest about the size of a medium dog and the largest closer to the size of horses. Tvetyals are pack animals, and typically live in family units called bevies, which range in population from 7 to up to 40. Tvetyals can sport many different traits, but the most prominent is the heterochromic eyes that all Tvets possess. Some traits are more rare than others, and on occasion, it is said that a Tvetyal may even be born with wings. Notably, Tvetyals are separated into two primary groups: Wild and Domestic. As the names may suggest, Wild Tvets are generally not receptive to humans and cannot be ridden. With enough work, a Wild Tvetyal can become Domestic, at which point they can be lifelong companions.

Bold, easy-going, social, and a tendency of cockiness and stubbornness from time to time.
He is very afraid of the darker patches of water known as the "Blue Hole".
As a fledgling he was swept away on a rip current while he was practicing how to swim with
a group of others. He was only saved, half-unconscious and sinking, when a group of conservationists
hurriedly saved him before sinking into the deep, deep hole of the ocean. Even as an older Tvet,
he takes great caution before diving and hunting, staying away from his childhood nightmare.

What he dislikes the most: Yantse can not stand fire. He's very scared of it. He doesn't like the way it smells, the heat that comes from it, or the sound of a fire crackling. His first response to seeing, hearing, or smelling fire is to climb the first thing he sees, wether it's a tree, light post, or a building.

What he dislikes the most: Cats. Caspian is seriously afraid of them, although they are much smaller than him. Their smell, their shriek, everything about these little felines makes his fur stand on end. What he dislikes the most: Cheese. The other Tvets make fun of him for it, but Chekov cannot stand cheese. As a child, he was forced to eat cheese every year on his sister's birthday as it was her favorite food. Gouda, cheddar, bleu, it doesn't matter. Chekov can hardly look at a piece of cheese, much less eat one.
