Art/Story Dancer shivered in excitement, the Old man had said her new harnesses was here. And a new harnesses meant she was ready to go to a forever home. She loved the breading/training farm where she had grown up, but she was tired of not having her own special person. Like the older horses liked to talk about. Dancer pawed at the floor in her stall impatient for the Old man to come. She pricked her ears forwarded and heard foot steps on the path, the other horse in her barn started to stir and wicker for the breakfast. In came the old man with a bit of snow blowing in after him moving at his usual slow pace, as he went about doing the morning routine. Dancer fallowed him with her eyes, not even bothering to pay attrition to her food, when he brought it.
Eventually the old man went in the tack room and came out with a big box. When he walked up to Dance's stall and saw her untouched breakfast he chuckled a little. Dancer just gave a impatient snort and lowered her head so he could put her halter on. Dancer wanted to dance out of her stall and prance about. But minded her manners, since she did not want the old man to change his mind. She stood as patiently as she could while he groomed her and fussed with her feet. Then he pulled out the first piece of harnesses and on it was a little golden bell. The moment Dancer heard that sound she knew she would always remember little harnesses bells with this wonderful moment. Soon the Old man had pulled out all the harnesses and started putting it on. It felt a little stiff but Dancer did not care, because this was her very own special harnesses. And as the Old man buckled the last strap on he gave a grunt of satisfaction for every bit of the new harnesses fit perfectly. He then turned to Dancer and said "Well my little Dancer, it looks like it was meant to be. We are off to the winter sleigh race at the winter fair." Dancer pricked her ears at his words, and wondered to her self if she was finally going to meet her special person at this fair.
The day of the fair dawned bright and beautiful, it was a perfect winter day. Dancer was so excited she nearly forgot all of her manners. But thankfully she remembered in time not to cause any trouble or delays in the process of get ready. Soon the Old man was getting out her Special harnesses. It fit like a well loved glove, Dance gave a contented sigh being so glad to have her own perfect harnesses. Soon they were ready to go, as the fair was only 2 miles down the road. The Old man was driving Dancer there, the sleigh felt so light behind her in eagerness. Dancer felt like she devoured the miles to the fair, the Old man kept her to a gentle warming up pace. They came up to the registration table, and the Old man hailed another gentlemen with a clip board. As Dancer waited patiently for the Old man to be done. She looked around and saw a young girl with a family there, she watched with longing as the little girl went up to a pony with a tiny sleigh behind it. And greeted it in that special way that Dancer had heard happened when the horse was there special friend. Dancer then wondered again if she was going to find her special some one, she continued to look about eagerly. And...... will finish if I win her don't want to break her special person heart or mine. If she goes home with some one else.

How did hanging stockings start?Umm this one is hard as there is no agreed upon origin story, although my favorite has to be " The Christmas stocking custom is derived from the Germanic/Scandinavian figure Odin. According to Phyllis Siefker, children would place their boots, filled with carrots, straw, or sugar, near the chimney for Odin's flying horse, Sleipnir, to eat. Odin would reward those children for their kindness by replacing Sleipnir's food with gifts or candy."
