THE LOST RIDERS - #37

Postby Penultima » Sat Nov 30, 2013 1:12 pm

Unlike many adoptables, this species isn't a "quick adopt, get a whole bunch" kind. Each one is unique and special. Each has it's own story, history, and future. You, as a potential owner, will not only adopt it, but actually own it.

You can try out for multiple dinos, but you cannot own more that 1 untrained one at once.
Keep in mind--Tribesman and women wear armor or leather garments, not casual clothes like hoodies or jeans.
They also do not have very modern-like objects, like glasses, hats, etc

What fancy accessories! Trying out a new horn shape style as a rarer mutation, hope you guys like it!

Is this the one for you? Are you up for its capture?

Captured by Captain Rutabaga(Alaska)
Dino: Shoshone
Rider: Alexandra (Alex)
Tribe: Mat'Junea

So much reserve. So. Much.

Your Username:
I'm AirAngel, pleased to meet you ^^

Dino's Name:
Aedes
A.K.A. Loki <3 'Cause Yolo :3

... this quite literally means 'Temple' in Latin. And truly, the instant I saw him, I thought of an old, ivy-covered temple in a jungle. I just HAD to do something with that... so I am ^^ I've always had a fascination with old jungle temples, all tall with majestic glory, and so... tuned in with nature. I love them to bits, and finding such an amazing name that means the same thing as what I've always dreamed about visiting, there was just too much amazingness to possibly exist. I really and truly hope I can get him. All of those markings, those accessories, remind me of a creature that would live in or around a temple as a sacred creature, always honored and praised by the people who live within.

Your Rider's Name:
Andreia.
Andreia, a word that means courage, is the best word to describe this 14-year old girl. She has lost both of her parents due to skirmishes between other tribes when she was eight, and without a brother or sister, had to be raised under foster parents her whole life while still remembering her true parents. Though she loves her foster mother and father, they simply cannot fill in the hole that has been made in her heart. However, Andreia still holds her head high, and doesn't allow the sadness she feels show through.
Andreia loves the forest and all that live within it- she, being adventurous, loves to explore past the sparse woods that her tribe lives in and go deep within, where the trees grow to be nearly six feet in diameter and reach up into the sky. Andreia likes to collect different types of stones, especially tiger eye, when she explores.
Andreia is stubborn- there's no getting past that. She hates being told what to do and how to do it, ESPECIALLY when she already knows. She is quick-witted and smart, with the ability to get out of things using her 'silvertongue'. She is quite persuasive- very few can deny her when she really wants to do something or have something done.
When it comes down to the wire, you can't deny that Andreia is loyal. She will refuse to back down when she's protecting something she loves, and when she has something sharp and pointy in her hands... well, she has good accuracy, so you might want to back off. Andreia's heart is often in the right place, even when her mind isn't.

Your Rider's Tribe:
Mat'iri, hands down. I've got some AMAZING ideas for this boy.

Do you plan to train this dino?

Of COURSE I am! I frequently have a fair amount of freetime with little to do, not to mention that there's no reason why I shouldn't train him. I found it a lot of fun to write about Laetus, and I can't wait to see who wins so I may hopefully write about this gorgeous fellow <3

Image
He, clad in beauty, who lives a royal,
Heart strong and with blood that boils
Talons sharp and head held high,
Regal as those who live in the sky,
Armored with beauty, needing nothing more
to keep home forever in humanity's lore.
He is a king that wears no crown,
A majestic beast that will not bow,
Fighting relentless to defend his honor,
Fierce and fast with undeniable valor.

First Impression:
Andreia raced through the woods like a deer, laughing in pure joy at her freedom. Leaping over fallen logs and darting through creeks, she had never felt so... at peace. The sweet smell of nature, chittering of birds, and the distant roars of the Bernikesaurs- everything was just too perfect. She slowed to a walk as she reached the line between the sparse woodlands and the thick, sprawling forest with trees that towered over even the tallest Bernikesaurs. She spun in a circle, dappled sunlight shimmering on her shiny leather tunic, and then stepped on through the emerald green foliage. Frequently, she bent down to pluck a flower from the mossy beds.
Andreia had left early this morning, planning to go farther into the forest than she'd ever gone before. Her foster parents didn't know where she went when she disappeared- they often asked, but they didn't press, so Andreia never told them. If she did, chances are they'd never let her leave without supervision. So few people ever went this far into the Mat'iri territory, so they had little knowledge of what happened in this haven- and, of course, being the overly-cautious people that they were, assumed it was dangerous, so they tried to discourage any travel back here. Andreia, knowing it was bull, came here anyways.
Andreia smiled as she picked up a jay feather, examining it next to the flowers she'd picked and some tiger eye she'd found. "So pretty, all of these. I wish I had a sack that I could lug all of this stuff back home in," she murmured longingly. She was so busy admiring them that she didn't notice the cracked stone block under her feet. As she tripped, all of her treasures went flying out of her hand, scattering. She landed with an
oof, and she grimaced, looking up. And stopped, not breathing.
In front of her was a massive, ancient stone structure with ivy draping over the walls. Is... is that even REAL? she thought, stunned. She got up, slowly brushing off her knees, her eyes never leaving the majestic place before her eyes. Entranced, she walked towards it, touching a stone arch. Tiny pebbles tumbled beneath her fingers, and she heard a soft cracking- it was obvious that the arch was old, and not very sound any more, so she pulled back her hand.
"How old is this place?" Andreia murmured, not daring to speak above a whisper in the presence of this magical stone structure. It was beautiful, by far the most amazing thing she'd ever seen in her entire life. She walked forwards, gravel and old rocks softly crunching beneath her feet. Her heart was racing now, eyes drinking in this impossible image. She stepped inside one of the 'buildings', if one could even call it that, and looked around, her sea-green eyes dancing in light reflected by a pool of water that resided in the center. At the far end of the structure, a thick slab of stone sat, with something strange about it- Andreia walked towards it, and realized that there were engravings, most displaying what looked like a strange Bernikesaur. They were accurate, going down to even the smallest scale in detail, but the dinosaur lacked the typical spikes along his spine that most had, and the horns were odd- rather than flowing backwards, as all Bernikesaurs' that she'd seen did, they went up at a very slight angle briefly, and then curled forwards, ending at just past its eyes. Her fingers rose to touch it, when a shadow fell over her. She turned around, her throat constricted, and saw him.
He was the Bernikesaur that the engravings depicted, there was no denying that. His horns were curled in the same way that the picture was. He had none of the deadly spikes along his neck and back. There were what seemed to be a type of golden vine draping on his arm, his neck, his haunches, and his tail, and there was some type of material on his legs that Andreia couldn't figure out.
Rather than roar at her, like most Bernikesaurs would, he simply rumbled and walked forwards- leaning his head down to take a brief sip from the water pool, and then stepping towards her again. This beautiful creature didn't take her as a threat, that was for sure. He stopped directly next to her, and as she barely seemed to breath, he lowered his head without looking at her and snuffled at a spot on the slab. He backed up again, and Andreia got a look at what he'd been pointing out, and choked up- though she couldn't tell if it was from joy or shock.
A girl sat atop the strange Bernikesaur, hair flying out behind her like Andreia's own, a bow strapped to her shoulder. Almost without consent, Andreia fingered the bow that was slung across her back. Slowly, she turned to face the Bernikesaur, who was looking at her curiously through brilliant golden eyes. He seemed to be calculating her, seeing how worthy she was to be his rider. If dinosaurs could smile, he did, and he then rumbled again once more. He turned around, and walked out of the building, and by the time Andreia ran outside, he had disappeared. It was as though he'd said, "Come back again, child. I'll be waiting." And with a shock, she realized that the sun was indeed setting.
As she sprinted through the forest, keeping steady by her sense of direction, she nodded fiercely to herself. "Don't you worry, my beauty," she murmured with a smile. "I'll be coming back, and soon."

I myself prefer the other horns; however, I think they work beautifully with this design. I won't be going out for this guy but he/she is interesting ^^

Oh no, these aren't permanent, just a variation. It's like a rarer mutation, the originals are still the basic used one.

Ahhhh.
Silly me. I thought they'd be a new variant :P
Maybe there should be one of those, you know? Like horns that are wavy, or slightly curled at the tips. ouo

Your Username: Saphira455

Dino's name: Priscus

Your Rider's Name: Dralka D'ratha

Rider info: Shoulder length, Wavy/Curly, Dark brown hair that would most of the time be found tied up with a strip of leather that has a Bernikesaur claw on both ends. Usually carries a bow on her back right beside a quiver of arrows and occasionally a sword.

Your Rider's Tribe: Mat'iri

Do you plan to train this dino?
Of course! There is no reason not to.

Meeting: The revolting human cracked the whip at me so I could entertain the skinny bits of revolting, dancing meat. I stop again to try and think of a way out. Crack! I hold in a whimper and force a snarl so they keep their distance. I then continue "dancing" so they don't crack the stinging whip at me again. As I do that, I once again look out over the idiotic humans and hope that one of them will save me, I carefully plead with my eyes and hope that one of them is my bonded and save me. Humans are so moronic, they always assume that they know everything, for example I am a female, not male! I growl and for that get hit with the stinging whip, oh how much I wish to tear that away from the human. The whip holding human climbs onto the tall rock and loudly announces "Alright people, Bovem'll be back tomorrow." I growl and hiss at the moronic name and the fact that the guy called me a male. I see the whip descend and see a blur jump in front of me and an angry snarl. I nearly back up, until I realize it is a human that is protecting me! It seems as if time slows down, I see the whip slowly descend upon the only human that has ever attempted to protect me and realized, that it is my bonded...

Slight WIP, it will get better with more time.

Have you ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn't fall in love with?

R I D E R; Melissa

TRIBE; Mat'era

W H E N....I....F I R S T....M E T....Y O U . . .

Melissa gulped as she walked through the plains of her tribe land, Mat'era. The damp grass made squashing noises under her feet, and her arms sore from insect bites. The usual, really, as her tribe only really being plains of long grass, nothing ever really interesting happened. But, this day was special. Herself Melissa didn't know it, it was a usual day to her. She was away from her tribe because she disliked when people would fuss over her, so as a solution she would wander off and have walks alone. But it was a special day, the day she first met him.
Looking up, she heard the most terrifying roar, screeching, echoing. It seems like it vibrated under Melissa's feet, and forced the birds to leave the trees and fly to safety. Melissa looked around breathing heavily, should she run? Should she investigate the source of the roar? But she didn't have to think for long, this time the ground shook again, but evenly, in some sort of beat. boom...boom. Melissa's eyes widened, foot steps, she thought. She looked around, frightened, anywhere she could hide, but all there was was grass all around. Not a log, not a stone. Panic rushed through her, so she went with the only option, dropping into the grass and playing dead. Seems stupid, but she could not possible sand against something so large to cause the ground to shake with it's foot steps.
After a few minutes she looked up from her blonde hair, in front of her stood a Bernikesaurs. But a Bernikesaurs she has never seen before. She knew those creatures, at her tribe many people owned their own, but this one was different. He was built slender, but at the same time we was muscular and majestic. In his eyes you could see courage, and many years of fearless battle.
