The First Touch
Only the most reliable will be awarded with the true love of an untamed creature.
Jacinta was always arrogant and pretty desinterested in doing things at home or in the school first. Rhoda, one of the girls living in her street, showed her then how great it can be to help other people, but as soon as Rhoda was gone again, Jacinta started to ignore her duties soon and felt left back, because Rhoda, her only real friend, disappeared from one day to another.
When a strange letter arrived, Jacinta couldn't believe what Rhoda actually wrote there. She had captured a Neravontii? and she manages to ride it now? Jacinta was curious about those creatures and actually that was the first time she was really curious.
Several days after the letter arrived...
Jacinta left the house and took the old bike that leaned at the house's wall. She normally didn't took a bike to get somewhere, but it was the only way to the facility, Rhoda wrote about. While she drove through the woods, Jazz had a bad feeling and felt eyes on her the hole time. Then suddenly the bike cracked and the front wheel broke out of it's retainer. Jazz fell and her right wrist started to hurt. "Ouch!", she screamed and got up into a sitting position. From the undergrowth she heard strange noises, but actually she wasn't really up to that. Her wrist ached and Jacinta tried not to cry. It wasn't exactly easy, but she stood the pain. Then something slowly came out of the undergrowth and "looked" at her. Jazz was spooked and fell backwards. A large creature stood in front of her.
'Oh my gosh, what's this?' the girl thought and stared at the animal in shock.
Instead of being shy and reserved, the creature approached her and it's muzzle almost touched Jacinta's cheek. Frozen in motion the girl couldn't do anything, until something came to her mind. 'Could this be a Neravontii? The animal Rhoda wrote about...' the idea came to her mind and stuck there.
Jazz wondered if the creature could see her since it seemed to lack eyes. "The shard like markings on your back look like sapphires. Beautiful." Jazz said and didn't noticed that she got up and stood next to the Neravontii. Fascinated she touched the markings on the creatures' back. For a moment the Neravontii jerked, but then enjoyed the soft stroking of Jazz' hand.
When she realized what she did, Jacinta didn't stopped but moved on to the Neravontii's head, where she slowly touched the creatures' snout.
"I think we found a liking to each other, don't we?", Jacinta asked softly and added then "I think I will name you Saphir." The Neravontii seemed to nod and put his snout against Jacinta's cheek.
