What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

This pretty is called Amethyst.


Reason for choosing the name
Eragon has Sapphira. Sapphira is blue, and sapphires are blue. There's a dragon in Amethyst, a purple one. Amethysts are purple. It makes sense, I guess.


What is this mutato's favourite thing to do when it's bad weather outside?
Read. Amethyst loves to read. She would read even if the sun was shining bright. She is a bookworm! She even tried to write a book once, but she never finished it.
Actually she is nerd, so you can also find out she is watching Star Wars or another nerd movie, or playing videogame. Her favorite book is The Lord Of The Rings, she already read it lots of times. She also loves The Hobbit. Her favorite movie is Tim Burtom's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Oh, and she also loves listening to music! Her favorite music... Well, she loves a lot of musics, but she says it is Enter Sandman, by Metallica. But she's not quite sure!

Hello there! My name is licorice pastels, but you can call me Lico. Everyone does, anyway, both here and on WCRPG (warrior cats RPG if you aren't familiar with the site). I would love to win this Mutato, because it would be my first.

Oh! The name! Well, for this Mutato I had to settle on Arach, which means dragon in Gaelic. Yes, yes, I know, it's kind of unusual and all, but I personally like it. I hope you do too...after all, you're the one doing all the judging!

The reason for the name is I saw the dragon in the design and knew the name had to be based off of that. And Arach was perfect because it's in Gaelic, and I absolutely love Gaelic, and because it means dragon. I also think Arach fits the Mutato in general, with the coloring and all.

When there's bad weather, Arach will dig a hole in the toxic waste and make a series of tunnels, all out of the weather, so he is safe from the wind/rain/thunderstorm or whatever disaster comes his way.

Vanyalí Skulblaka (A.K.A. Skully)

ｒｅａｓｏｎ ｆｏｒ ｃｈｏｏｓｉｎｇ ｔｈｅ ｎａｍｅ:

I am a huge fan of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. I adore the writing and the books. I'm also very intrigued by the ancient language, and so I was inspired to name this Mutato a word from the ancient language. Vanyalí means magic in the ancient language and Skulblaka means dragon. So the literal translation is "magic dragon". This design just strikes me as very magical, as I always thought of dragons to be magical creatures.

ｆａｖｏｒｉｔｅ ｔｈｉｎｇ ｔｏ ｄｏ ｏｎ ｒａｉｎｙ ｄａｙｓ:

Vanyalí Skulblaka loves to go outside, even during rainy weather. And not just rainy weather; Skully will go outside and have fun in any sort of weather. He is a very curious Mutato, and adores rain and snow and any sort of bad weather. Nothing ever fazes this adventurous little Mutato. Skully can find something enjoyable in anything, especially bad weather. When it rains, Skully will find puddles to roll in. He loves getting muddy! When it snows, Skully will make snow-Mutatos and have snowball fights and build snow caves. He loves the cold. If it's really windy, Skully will fly in the wind, even though it can be really dangerous. Really the only weather that stops Skully from playing outside is hail. The last time he tried to do that, he ending up getting hurt by all the ice falling from the sky. But he still had a decent time running around and eating all the ice after the storm was over!

ｅｘｔｒａ ｓｈｏｒｔ ｓｔｏｒｙ:

Vanyalí Skulblaka was tromping through his yard by himself, sniffing the flowers and rolling around in the sweet green grass. He was a bit of a loner, and preferred to play by himself. He was kind of shy and introverted around other Mutatos, and found that he had much more fun by himself. After all, when he played alone, he could do absolutely anything he wanted. Skully did have a close friend though. Skully's closest and best friend happened to be a purple dragon, a dragon remarkably similar to the design on his fur. The dragon's name was Silbena and she was a very pretty dragon. Smaller than what you'd imagine a dragon - only two times bigger than a Mutato - she had lovely royal purple scales that were oh-so-shiny and large, liquid gold eyes. Silbena always came whenever Skully wanted someone to play with. She was never late and had the best judgement, because she always came whenever he was feeling unusually lonely. Normally Skully was all right playing by himself, but whenever he needed a friend, without fail, Silbena would always show up. It was like she had a sixth sense for whenever Skully needed his best friend.
As if on cue, Silbena showed up as soon as Skully began to think of her. Her lovely purple scales flashed so brightly in the glowing sunlight, and her honeyed amber eyes blinked widely as she alighted on the ground, her glorious wings flapping in the gentle breeze. "Hello Skully," Silbena said quietly in her smooth, melodic voice. Whenever Silbena spoke, it reminded Skully delightfully of ringing bells, or running water, or silky chocolate as soft and sweet as velvet. This time was no exception, and Silbena's voice flowed over him like liquid silver. Wagging his tail slowly and from side to side, Skully floated up to greet Silbena. Despite Silbena being small for a dragon, she was still two times as big as Skuly, and so he had to fly in the air to be able to speak to her face to face. It was Silbena who had nicknamed Skully, as she had often complained about having to say his entire name, which was rather long, every time she talked to him.
"Hullo Silbena," Skully replied, bouncing around in the air like a hyper ball of fur, which he was. "What are we doing today?"
The magnificent dragon did a graceful backflip in the air, gliding around like a small purple plane. "Well, we could go to the jungle today. Or we could visit the city. There's plenty of places we can visit."
"Let's go to the city. I'm in the mood for city food." Skully floated up, flying next to Silbena. The dragon took the lead, soaring through the air much faster than any Mutato ever could. However, she always slowed down whenever Skully began falling behind, allowing the bouncing Mutato to catch up.
They arrived at the city quickly, as Skully lived kind of close to it. As soon as they arrived, Skully touched down on the ground and dashed towards the nearest ice cream cart. He and Silbena were surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and towering buildings and skyscrapers. The city was intimidating, but fun.
"Two ice creams please," Skully said. The ice cream man gave him a funny look, but handed him two ice cream cones anyways. Skully gave one cone to Silbena, which only generated more funny looks from the ice cream man. Skully figured that the man had never seen a Mutato and a dragon traveling together. The two companions discussed where they would eat. Finally, the two decided on an outdoor cafe, where Silbena curled up next to an empty table. Skully sat down next to her, Mutatos and dragons didn't need chairs, and sifted through the menu.
"Um, I'll have a sandwich. And my friend will have a cheesesteak," Skully ordered for himself as well as Silbena. Once again, he got a funny look, this time from the waitress. He figured that she had never seen a dragon either, just like the ice cream man. Their food arrived quickly enough, and Silbena began eating the cheesesteak quite quickly, devouring it in a few large bites. Her fangs flashed quite intimidatingly, but no one seemed to mind the dragon eating ferociously. Skully took a few bites of his sandwich, but had barely touched it before the waitress came back.
"Sweetie, I've seen Mutatos before, but they're not normally alone." The waitress knelt down next to Skully. He had no idea what she was talking about. Silbena was right there, licking her lips from her delicious cheesesteak! "Sweetie, why are you alone?" The waitress repeated. Suddenly, Skully felt lightheaded. He looked over at Silbena, but she was gone. The cheesesteak was still there. Wait, what had happened? Where was his best and only friend? Skully felt dread deep in his belly when he realized that she hadn't ever existed. No wonder he had gotten so many confused looks. He had been talking to someone imaginary. No wonder Silbena had only ever come when he needed her. He had imagined her whenever he felt lonely. He flew over to the ice cream man. Silbena's ice cream lay melting on the ground.
