What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

The name Kaida means "little dragon". Given this young girl's connection with dragons, I think it's safe to say that this is a rather fitting name for her.



Lᴏʀᴅ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ Sᴋʏ
There is no doubt in Kaida's mind that the glimmering red shape is that of a dragon. She sees the dragon often, soaring freely and joyously above her, almost like a dancing flame. Yet, few actually believe Kaida when she tells them of the mythical beast. "You're just imagining things Kaida." They might say. "Silly girl, sees a bird and calls it a dragon." But Kaida is certain of what she sees. No bird could fly with such grace and beauty, or with such speed and skill that no Mutato could follow it (Kaida has tried). Though unsure as to why the dragon only appears to her, or why it flees when she tries to approach it, Kaida is convinced that one day, she will uncover the secrets of the lord of the sky.

What is it in the sky? Is it a friend or a for to the mutato? It is a mighty dragon, most awesome and powerful of all beasts. Apparently after the creation of Mutatos, the same toxic waste also affected lizards, recreating the winged reptiles of old. It will not harm the mutato, but anyone who disturbs its nest is sure to get a face-full of its fire breath.

Name of the Mutato;; this handsome boy is named Ember.


Reason for choosing the name;; I chose Ember because it reminds me of the flickering sensation of a dragon's breath. This boy seems to flicker with the life of a flame, he can never keep still. He's graceful, and his gorgeous coloration adds to that effect.


What is it in the sky? Is it a friend or a foe to the mutato?;; What is it in the sky? A bird, a plane? No, it's a dragon. The dragon and Ember are fine friends, as the dragon is a baby much like Ember himself. Ember is currently trying to help the dragon fly better, as he is young and is a bit clumsy! Although Ember cannot breathe fire, he and the dragon play. At night, Ember curls up against the dragon's warm, fire heated belly and they sleep together.

Sparo means 'fire' in Italian. The reason I chose fire as the meaning of his name is because of what's in the sky.

Welp, in the sky there is a Charizard. A Charizard (for those who don't know) is a fire-type pokemon, evolved from Charmeleon, who is evolved from Charmander, who is an original starter. This red dragon is, in fact, a friend of Sparo here.

"See that? Up in the sky is a dragon, a fire dragon to be exact. You can tell by it's red scales, they breath fire of course and have the worst tempers. This dragon isn't on anyone's side and Puff has run into him a few times before. She's actually quite annoying and has continually angered him too many times to count. They are rivals and he's always got his eye out for her. These two bicker a lot and he's always trying to pick fights with Puff. But she is smaller than him, and certainly smarter and quicker. If you ever see a flash of red across the sky remember, that's really just the fire dragon chasing Puff. Send a silent prayer, just to keep her safe."
