Beatus, could be viewed as old, he has seen a lot of stuff in his years, but in others ways he is still young and curious. Overall Beatus could be 9 or he could be 900, because know one has known him for longer than 2 years.
Why is he so grumpy?:
This is a tricky question as there are many reasons as to why he's so grumpy. As a kid he was extremely happy. It was almost not believable.
His friend then passed away, Beatus began to lose his motivation and inspiration and his kind attitude slowly faded. While there were many other little things that drove him too this, his friends passing had made him feel the worst. Beatus had to decided he would rather shut people out then let them in and hurt.
