What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

This adorable little mutato's design is a reference to an incident in episode 1 series 5 "The Eleventh Hour" of Doctor Who, when the newly regenerated Doctor was still acclimating to his new body and he ate fish fingers and custard. The next main character for the show will be Peter Capaldi. He's going to be the 12th Doctor. I'll be sad to see Matt go, but I'm curious to see how Capaldi does in this role. c:

What Is Your Reason for Choosing This Name?

In Czechoslovakia, the word Jedenáct means eleven, and in Poland, the word Lekarz means doctor. So, if you put both of these words together, the full name of this Mutato means the eleventh doctor.
Also, since the doctor knows every language that anyone could possibly know, I thought it would be appropriate for his name to be in two different languages. X)

This Mutato is referencing the 11th doctor's love of fish fingers and custard, which is sort of his trademark, as no other doctor before him ever showed an interest in this particular type of food.

The next main character of the show will be Peter Capaldi as the 12th doctor.

The Doctor referred to not liking any foods because he has a new mouth, and that it is like eating food after brushing your teeth.
"New mouth, new rules. Its like eating after cleaning your teeth. Everything tastes WRONG!"
+What is this referencing and who is the next main character for the show
This is referencing Doctor Who, it is from the very first episode of Season 5 which is called the Eleventh Hour. The Doctor came out of his TARDIS after a new regeneration and states that he could be having a craving and that he's never had one before, then he asks for an apple. Young Amelia, gives the Doctor an apple and he spits it out in disgust, followed by yogurt, bacon, baked beans, bread and butter. After trying all these foods, he suddenly lights up in excitement with a new idea and exclaims that he needs fish fingers and custard.
Throughout the show, it also became a bit of a thing between Eleven and Amy, and when the Doctor noticed that Amy, River and Rory were acting strange in the sixth season, he wanted to be sure he could trust them and asked Amy to promise on something that matters. She replied "Fish fingers and custard."
Another time this became a reference was in the episode "Let's Kill Hitler" when The Doctor had been poisoned and needed some inspiration, so The TARDIS enabled it's voice interface system and talked to him - not helping at all. Then young Amelia appeared and right as the Doctor was about to collapse, the interface said "Fish fingers and Custard", and he brightened up again.
In season seven, they were also seen snacking on the treat in the episode The Power of Three.

The next main character for the show will be Peter Capaldi, who has already featured in Doctor Who in the Fires of Pompeii. I'd say he's new, but I guess he is already apart of the family.
